Green Bay Trip

texanmojo

Shotgun 30 Time
Green Bay Fans - best fans I have ever been with. These folks are very hospitable...me and bpe3 had a fantastic time in GB.

Lambeau Field - wonderful place to take in a game. My ass froze on the bleachers though...the stadium had the feel of a high school stadium.

Tailgating - well...I had heard that GB fans have the best tailgating in all of football. I can tell you this...I was NOT impressed. The fans were very hospitable, but the tailgating did not surpass the energy of the yellow lot. Don't get me wrong, we had a good time, but it was not as good as I expected.

Anyway...all in all, its been a great trip and I would highly recommend that you come when we play here again in 8 years. I know I will be back.

What a crazy game to watch in person. It wouldn't have been as special, if it wasn't freezing. I kept looking for Texans fans in the stand, but never did spot any.

Glad you had a good time. Good luck defrosting.

WHAT TIME IS IT???

Lots of Texans fans here...my plane was full of them, and I think Richard Justice was on my flight.

Green Bay is the first place I have been where people wear what they shoot...met a kid who was wearing a cyote hat that he personally killed.

So if the Yellow lot was better than the Packers TG than that means that the Blue Lot Ruled Supreme.

I've heard the crowd in Greenbay was pure class. Glad to hear confirmation of that. I was watching the game with Gary and walked out right before the two minute warning thinking it was over. Man I'm an *****.

I saw Texans fans a few times...i saw that thing that opens and closes that I think verizon gives out that says Go Texans

Also, they showed a sign that said something about CBS like Cant Beat the Texans or something like that

You would only know if you were here... :)

Yeah I guess.. But I travel from Brownsville, Texas to Houston, Texas.. almost every home game.. Six games so far this year.. So that would make it 4,200 miles so far this year... I doubt that anybody has traveled more by car this year to watch the Houston Texans than me.. I think I qualify as a hardcore fan.. well, I better because my wife just doesn't understand it..

That's dedication...

It is.. But it's also stress on the marriage... And I promised my wife that I would cut my trips next year in half... I agreed. It's Either my my marriage or the Texans. As much as I love the Texans i love my family a little better.

That's impressive, you're a true Texans fan. You need to recruit more people down in Brownsville to follow your lead.

I do, but only my 13 year old son can hang with me... My wife and my 4 year old can only handle two trips a year. The trips are very tiring..

Anyway, how was the tailgating in Green bay.. I would Imagine that it would be so cold that you couldn't really enjoy the tailgating.. What did you eat? How long did you tailgate?

Yeah Right!!!.....95% of the fans are cowboy fans down here. And they are mainly fake fans.. Nothing serious. As a matter of fact, I'm known as the Crazy Texans fan that just wastes his time following a loser team...

Maybe its time to move from Brownsville then?

Just a suggestion haha.:smiliedance:

If I could find a job (that I like) that pays me over 100,000 a year in Houston and drive less than 6 miles to work... I doubt that many of you drive 6 miles to your job..

I think I live within 6 miles of work, right about that......that's where the similarities end however.

My wife was mad all day yesterday that we couldn't make it. She will be very jealous to see pictures of Crable up there!

So was I Yank. Even shed a couple tears I was so disappointed. I'll be WAY to old to go to GB the next time we play the Packs. Oh well. Such is life. I'm going to make plans NOW to go to Buffalo next year, IF it's a cold weather game.

bpe3 the pics are great! Made me shiver just looking at them!!

Didn't you just graduate from law school? I think you'll be making way over that mark in the future...

Bwahahahahaha - TV and other such entities greatly exaggerate the lucrative nature of being an attorney in the 2000's - except for a very small and greatly overworked portion of law school graduates.

Debt >>> than most people's salaries. if you're really bored, this guy put a bunch of good articles together:

Here's a few shots from Green Bay. My plan was to take a picture of every beer I drank, but I failed miserably...

Nice pics, thanks. Nice little story line you had going on there.... but you must've been a little off at one point to sneak in the bloody mary's (or so it appeared) on one pic.

But only 2 pics of the game? Come on. :)

You're right about the game, OzzO. There should have been more pics inside the stadium. I'm sure I had another 5 or 6 Miller Lites inside the stadium. Sadly, NONE of them were photographed for record.

I also should have taken a pic of the two shirtless guys sitting in the row behind us.

I really should have my own camera man following me around all the time a la Anna-Megan Raley.

That was my brother in law, he was at the game. Sign said Came to beat the Packers with Texans logo's.

Just hope they don't move that game to Canada....

I was there too. The Battle Red Bunch took a group of 7 to Green Bay. Not all GB fans were great, but 80% were. We tailgated with the Raging Bull Tailgaters (those guys are GREAT). Not impressed with any Packer tailgating.
Some true comments from "smart" Packer fans:
"Go back to Austin!" & "Betcha can't have cool flyovers like that in a Dome!" (seriously, this was said)
and when I went to the latrine, one guy taunts me; "are you leaving already?", so I say why? "we are beating you 7-0!, read the scoreboard"
Also, one of our group was shoved down by one braindead Packer fan with no warning, then he ran away. Most were cool, but no opposing fan in any town has ever assaulted us. Ever.
WAY TOO COLD. I will not go back unless we play in September. I did it once. That's enough. The seats are way too close together to fit 21st Century Man. Maybe people were that size in the 30's.
