The Bills get ready to play in Toronto...

Good article, man. 
It sounds like it's just a matter of time before the Bills make the big move. I guess they could split their games between the cities for awhile, but I think that will eventually give way to the city that can offer the most (especially if it includes a stadium deal).
I sorta' feel bad for Bills fans (my in-laws are from Buffalo), but I've always harbored a little ill-will towards them because of the game that shall not be mentioned. I guess I need to get past that history and just realize that Bills fans are eventually going to suffer like H-town fans did...except they will probably never get another shot at a new team.

It still doesn't make it right. I don't want to see the "Toronto Bills" in my lifetime but know that there's just not enough money in the world to satisfy the sorry S.O.B.'s that drive the NFL.

My heart goes out to them also! Even after the Oilers fell victim to the Bills, I could never make myself hate that team. I followed Jim Kelly's career until it ended, and still receive news letter's from the Bills. I don't wish this pain and uncertainty on any fan, except maybe "girl" fans
J/K!! Truthfully, I respect every fans right to pull for the team of their choice, and having that team sucked out of your life after decades of support is really very depressing. The author of that article referred to AMERICAN football. I'm afraid that due to greed and lack of loyalty to American fans, we will see that title change in the very near future. Just another step in our Country losing a little more of it's identity! JMO!!

I am here in Toronto - been here since fall of 05 when I moved here from Houston. Gotta say - there's a lot of concern and disappointment about how the city has handled this. There was an article in one of the major papers here - can't remember if it was the Star or the Sun - about what a failure this has been. Everything from prices to packaging to advertising.
The speculation of that writer is that the group in control of this endeavor has done nothing but hurt Toronto's chances of ever landing an NFL franchise.
My buddies and I all entered the lottery - one of us got picked to buy 4 tickets. But it was a package deal stretched out over years and forced us to buy the exhibition tickets as well. The prices were pretty unreasonable for what we were getting in return - so we passed. I'd rather watch the Bills in Orchard Park.
I am interested in seeing how many people show up to the Rogers Centre and what the atmosphere is like.
If it falls flat, then the NFL in Toronto may get further off than closer.

Here's what gets me. When the game is in London, it's "The NFL in London", but in Toronto, it's "The Bills in Toronto"

Whether the Bills remain in Buffalo all depends on who owns them. Ralph Wilson has said that he won't let or doesn't want to let his family takeover. So when he passes on the Bills will be up for sale.
Now one guy who has already made a pitch is the owner of the Sabres (cant remember his name) and he has publicly stated that if he was the new owner of the Bills they would remain in Buffalo.

There has been a lot of negative press - not just the locals but the Globe and Mail has been all over it...
Rogers and the Bills got swept in by what happens with the Leafs - fans paying whatever MLSE wants and an endless supply, no matter how crappy the team plays.
They didn't realize that while all of Southern Ontario still desperately wants to be at the ACC for the Leafs, they have their limits when it comes to football, which is the easist game to watch and enjoy from their living room, especially with HD etc. It was a really poor miscalculation of the marketplace.
They also got hit by the Bills' performance - if the club had won either game versus crummy teams like the Browns or 49ers, they then have a 7-5 record at worst and the game has huge meaning.
The tailgating laws in Ontario also hurt this. The few thousand from Western NY that were considering taking the game in said 'no thanks' once they realized they couldn't tailgate. Buffalo has one of the best tailgates in the NFL - I've been to 8 NFL stadiums so far and it was by far the best I've experienced.

so a couple of my buddies bought tickets for the game - for cheap - from scalpers outside desperate to get ANYthing for these tickets.
They are reporting a pretty "meh" atmosphere and more empty seats than they were expecting.
Overall, it doesn't look good for Toronto being in the NFL's future.

I've no vested interest in whether or not the team moves or doesn't. Unless the team that relocates here ends up being my Saints.
So you're obviously mistaking something for concern... but concern it's not
And it's not just about the sales of this game. The entire reception has been lukewarm, tepid at best. That's in stark contrast to the attraction that the NFL has seen in Germany with NFL Europe and even in the UK game this past year.
The success of the franchise would be dependent on Bills fans coming to Toronto for games - which is exactly what they ended up relying on for the success of this game.
There are real issues here beyond merely ticket sales that I think would give the NFL pause.
