Coming off their first road victory of the year, Texan's fans have renewed hope that their team may be ready for a late season run. This week's contest at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars will leave the loser in sole possession of last place in the AFC South.

The bookmakers seem to think Houston is worth the typical home field spread of about 3 points.

It still appears to this poster that this Texan's team is better than their record indicates. The offense has looked very strong, except for a steady supply of untimely turnovers. The defense stepped up last week and played like they were expected to coming into the season.

Will the Texan's continue to build on last week's success? Or, was that just a brief respite before they sink into their traditional position at the bottom of their division?

I'd feel better about this game if the Texans weren't so hurt at running back.

The Texans need to be able to run the ball. Save the Rosenchappa from himself and keep the defense off the field.

no question the key will be how our running game performs. if it is struggling then obviously the key will be how the qb responds to carrying the load. i'd like to see the defense have a repeat performance at least from an aggressiveness standpoint. i wouldn't expect them to yield as good of results against a better jags team but that mentality is key to us improving on defense.

this whole team was designed around playing the colts. maybe we should have considered that we have to play 30 other teams as well.

go texans.

Cant hardly believe myself , but I chose option A , the Texans win and cover ..... the Jag's are beat up up front on offense. I just hope Gerrard doesnt have another stellar day running the ball.

IIRC, they were beat up along the Oline the last time we played them at their house. The only thing we have going for us is home field, MNF and Battle Red. :shades:

This is McNair's shot to show off a product to prospective FA's and their agents. This is the biggest game of the Kubiak era. If we fall on our face, you can expect the media starting to question his tenure.

True, but after watching the beat down we gave the Broncos on NFLN last season. I have no doubt the players will be up for it. Especially Mr. Williams, it's his time to shine.

It's up to the coaching staff to put them in the position to win and we know which side of the ball wins games, right? Hint: starts with a 'D'. :)

How may prime time games have we played?

Dallas, Green Bay, Seattle and Denver come to mind. Am I missing any others?

I think KC was a Sunday nighter. Yes, I know we've embarrassed ourselves in the past, but the last Denver game was a different team.

Houston's first MNF game, Battle Red and home field advantage. If we screw the pooch on this one it will be obvious Houston has a football curse. :)

Yes, I think KC was a Sunday nighter. Embarrased against Seattle and KC. Wins against Dallas and Denver. Fell apart against GB.

EXACTLY, and their offensive front is banged up. If we dont come out attacking their O im going to be pissed. Its time to turn the D loose. What do we have to loose??

Sadly, I think this is the reason why our defense has seemed more aggressive towards the end of the season in the past couple years. Our DC doesn't have the sack to be this aggressive when the games actually count. Bastage!

What we know for a fact is if they have a three plus turnover spread they can win. the question should have been will the texans force five turnovers once again to cover Sages' mistakes ? The throwing the ball behind his recievers is a mechanical flaw. The questions I have why hasn't the QB Guru isolated the problem ? And why can Sage fix it ? Prety easy being a guru when you start out with coaching a HOFer.

I mean never mind that they still went to the playoffs almost every year after John Elway left, and never mind the fact he went to the AFC championship game with Jake Plummer for a QB.

You mean Plummer and Griese aren't at the top of the list for leading your team to the playoffs?

Also, the fact the Broncos haven't done diddly since Kubiak left. I can only imagine what Kubiak could do with someone like Cutler.

I have a good feeling about this game. I expect the emotion of playing the franchise's first Monday night game will give the offense the energy to come out and drive the length of the field on its first drive. If Sage can avoid the dumb mistakes, I see him posting a solid 250-285 yard game with two passing TDs.

The Jags defense is not the Ravens.
