Yaters Gonna Yate.
Favre threw two touchdown passes, Leon Washington ran for two scores and the Jets routed the Titans 34-13 on Sunday, snapping the 13-game regular-season winning streak by the NFL's last undefeated team. The Jets (8-3) came in atop the AFC East after a victory over New England at Foxborough and they have won five straight for the first time since October 2004 and seven of their last eight. The win also pulled them within two of Tennessee (10-1) with five to play in the race for home-field advantage through the playoffs.

yeah don't think many Miami fans were concerned with the Titans this year. much rather have seen the Jets lose

As a Titan diehard the humble pie I've been eating this afternoon has been neceesary.

Sadly, the team was due to lay an egg, and they picked a good and hungry team to do it to. The Jets were better than TEN in every single category, minus penalties. We had that one. :cowboy1:

I'm going to the Lions game, hopefully they're pissed as hell and take it out on the Lions.

I liked it personally.

Ditto, Thank you Jets! I didn't think they would go undefeated but it's still nice to get the 1st loss for the Titans. They had and have a weak schedule the rest of the way(minus their last 3 games;)) and finally found a team that was hotter than they were.

J-E-T-S JETS!

First time in 29 regular season weeks that there hasn't been an undefeated team in the standings.

I think the Titans got exposed this weekend.

Run up the score quickly, and they become one dimensional with a very average QB throwing to below average WRs.

White and Johnson comined for less than 15 touches, and they weren't very successful in those 15 touches they did manage.

Kerry Collins isn't going to win the close ones if he's all they've got.

Titans better figure out what they want to do from here on out.

This is one of the very......... very.......... very few times that I would celebrate with those Miami Bittermen.

This is what catches my eye. Why would you go away from your 'bread and butter' so early? Running the ball is what they do best. I understand they were behind early, but damn.

Eh, it's good they lost. Fat Al took a leg in the back of the head too, so it was a good day. Although, the Cowbabies did win.

You obviously did not watch the game ...

A 10-3 lead at half is hardly running up the score quickly.

The run was not working and the passes should have opened up the run but to many dropped balls made it worthless. You can not run two consecutive screen passes that hit our RBs in the hands and get dropped and expect to move the ball at all.

We got beat because the players head's were not in the game.

I'm sure he meant jumping to a lead early......The strength of the Titans is the ground game and when you get a lead on the Titans they become one dimensional as with most teams when they get behind early in the game.
I didn't watch the game but happy with the outcome.:pirate:

They had a 12th man in black and white yesterday as well. But I agree even without the PI calls I still think we lose.

If Farve plays like that in the playoffs I do not see any AFC team having a chance.

Favre and the Jets came in motivated, and ran the ball almost at will over your D.

Refs, schmefs. No excuses. No pissin' and moanin'.You won't get any sympathy for the refs on this board. (See the facemask penalty against Cleveland that resulted in an offensive holding against the Texans yesterday).

You are right though, if the Jets get hot with Favre at the helm, they may cause some damage.

They won't get through the Pats when it counts.

Just from watching the highlights, it looked like none of your players could catch the dern ball early in the game. That has got to be frustrating for KC, because he was hitting them on the numbers.

Y'all will rebound, though, and I expect to see an ass-kickin' against the Lions. Even the Texans beat up the Lions.

*ahem* 28-21 = by our chiny chin, chin. :shades:

Did any one really expect the Titans to go undefeated?

They are an excellent football team and I expect them to finish the season strong and make a deep playoff run, but I just never saw this team as untouchable.

That is what it felt like. Drop after drop and easy stuff.

Yeah I have a feeling the Lions are going to get it handed to them on Thursday.

A loss is a loss man. You didn't really expect them to go 16-0 did you?

You sound a little bitter about it... Imagine that feeling for at least 8 weeks out of the year.

Now Lenwhale is upset for the lack of playing time....

All was not rosy in Tennessee following the Titans’ first loss of the season as running back LenDale White sounded off about his lack of playing time, saying he “wasn’t paying attention” to the game.

Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean has the details:

Titans running back LenDale White sounded off about his lack of playing time after Sunday’s 34-13 loss to the Jets.

White had one carry for minus-1 yards and dropped a pass.

“I have been over it. It is a game, so what?” White said. “You would like to win it, but it is one game, so what? … I only played three plays so I really couldn’t tell you what happened, I don’t really know, I wasn’t paying attention, I didn’t care really.”

They should forget to deposit his paycheck, then when he screams attach the note:
You only played three plays so I really couldn’t tell you what happened, we don’t really know, we weren’t paying attention, we didn’t care really.”

All these high profile USC punks are the same.

They have no passion for the game. And why should they? They have been professionals since they were 18.

All they care about is gettin that money so they can live their luxurious lives.

I think I was pretty clear about accepting the loss. Earlier in that thread I brought up that I thought we would probably lose a few before it is all said and done. I am actually glad in a way we lost. It gives us a reality check and gives something for the coaches to chew some arse out about.

Well, see, the problem with that is they didn't run up the score early. it was 13-3 midway through the 3rd quarter. We got away from our running game, which is why they had 15 touches, and couldn't sustain anything on offense.

Kerry Collins has wont two close ones when he was all we've had.

Just trying to play devil's advocate here. We layed an egg, and I'm happy we did. It didn't hurt us, we still are two games up on everybody in the conference. So I'm not worried.

Bill, did you watch the game? I'm willing to bet half, probably more, of their rushing yards came in the 4th quarter when our defense had been on the field for well over half the game. They simply got worn down because our offense decided to throw when we got down by ten instead of try and pound it like they've been doing all year. Thomas Jones got a few here and there but averaged under 4ypc. Favre just played lights out. I can't wait to play them again in January.

Did I watch from kick to gun? No. I watched intermittently. My team was playing.

Why was your defense on the field so much? Because, the Jets offense was on the field, making first downs and eating clock. They ran effectively. They passed effectively and moved the ball. They ran all over the Titans in the second half, because that's what teams when they have a lead.

Jones averaged 3.5 ypc. 3.5 + 3.5 + 3.5 = first down. It also helps explains why the Jets TOP was 40+ minutes and the Titans TOP was -20 minutes.

Bottom line, it's all re;ative.

That game was the ultimate example of a team laying an egg, and picking the wrong team to lay an egg on. The Jets were clicking on all cylinders, and it would have taken the Titans best effort to win that game. On that day, they dropped key passes and their secondary showed its lack of manpower, which Favre abused over and over again on 1st down.

The Leon Washington long TD was what happens when a defense can't get off the field - which the offense did every time by going 3 and out so often, even after the defense created turnovers.

Glad I got to go to the Lions game and watch my team punk a Division II team.
