Whose decision was that? We must have been trying to catch the Colts' defense offguard. That ticked me off more than anything the whole game. You would still have downs left. Horrible clock management. It would have been nice for Sage to take a deep breath before attempting his next pass. It's not like he has shown himself immune to pressure.

I was thinking timeout after the Anderson catch too. Oh well, that's the story of this season, shoulda coulda woulda. :yawn:

The answer is - because Sage Rosenfels sucks.

...and it is Sage's call. Kubiak said it himself on the radio today, rather than taking responsibility for it himself as he always does otherwise. Sage has a handful of plays he can call in that situation, and he called "4 verticals," rather than spike the ball. Kubiak's words.
 
I don't know why that interception seemed inevitable, but it did. Does that make me less of a fan, or a realist?

Anyways, spiking the ball seemed like the most logical thing to do in that situation to me as well. I was yelling at the television when he didn't, but life goes on right?

In reading the message boards, the other blogs, and hearing the sports radio calls - almost everyone felt the same way - that we had no chance on the final drive, and that Sage was going to throw a pick or go Rosenchopper on us.
 
I too thought that it would've been wise to spike the ball. It would've left more time on the clock but most importantly you would've been able to get everyone on the same page, tell receivers to get their yards and get out of bounds. You got a rookie running back that may need to be reminded what to do in this situation whether it is receiving or blocking.

those are the little things that make bad teams successful.
