Congrats, I know Lamar Consolidated won district Friday night too, now we start our 4A title defense against Friendswood next week.Congrats on going undefeated and winning District. Let's go for State!

Congrats to Hightower on their first playoff victory 59-17. Also, Coach Shane Hallmark was named Houston Texans Coach of the Week this weeik. He will be invited to an upcoming Texans game.

Just wanted to complain about my old high school not getting into the playoffs because of the coin flip tiebreaker rule.
Klein Collins finished in a three-way tie with Westfield and Klein for 3rd place in 13-5A, and despite having the best overall record of the three, the other two got into the playoffs by winning coin flips.

That's too bad. Could that have been better resolved by breaking the tie on won/loss records against each other, then perhaps a point system on scores?

I'm not sure.
We held our destiny in our own hands though. We gave up 10 points to district runner up Klein Forest in the last 43 seconds of the game to lose 20-17. Win that game and we finish an undisputed 3rd place with victories over both #1 and #2.
I KNEW THAT THEY COULD DO IT!!!! YEEEEESSSSS, Hightower wins 28-21 over North Shore!!!!!
Next game is at 2:00 Saturday at Tully against another undefeated team, Pearland. Let's go Canes, let's go!

I-10 West to Dairy Ashford, turn left or make a U-turn if possible and turn right next street after Exxon Station at the corner of I-10 and Dairy Ashford. I think you may also be able to enter from Dairy Ashford about a block or two heading south. The stadium is at Stratford High School.

OMG, my mistake and apologies. I meant "previously!" Thank you for you well wishes. Hightower has a very good team as well as a great group of young men. Since the playoffs began, and all the teams in the mix, week to week, you never know who's coming out with the "W".

Y'all had the size advantage too. Damn, some of them boys on defense were impressive.
P-land was very over-matched in the trenches. Our Dline was getting blown off the ball.
Oh well, hopefully next year will be better. It'll mean even more to me since my son should be on the squad as a Jr. Our O was in dire need of a TE this season, but said my son was still too small.
I just picked up my bus and game tickets for the trip to Austin. Go Canes! The kids are pumped, confident, but not arrogant and the most humble group I've seen.

Hightower made it to the big one. Clark scored on the opening drive in the game and Hightower came back with 28 unanswered points by halftime. It was basically a defensive battle the second half with neither team scoring. The attendance was relatively good in an incredibly huge stadium. State championship will be played on Saturday at Reliant Stadium. Congrats to Katy as well.

I'd love to see a Div. I champ vs. a Div.II champ for the overall 5A ! Having 2 5A champs is awful !!

MY GF's brother is the starting fullback and back up RB for the canes...I've been to all the play-off games except the one they played in Austin last week...
I had no idea they were undefeated until recently....I thought they were going to lose to my old school northshore but they pulled it out...The best game they played though was against Cinco....

I can understand given in the last few years FBISD talent has been rather diluted and most of the teams, Hightower for years, never advanced past regional. What is your GF brother's name? I know London Hamilton and was wondering if Bobie Dubose was Blake Dubose's brother.
I thought that I kept up rather well with the teams once they were deep into the playoffs, but I had no idea who Allen was or where they were located. Based on what I've read, they are having an awesome year and we will indeed have our hands full. I hope that 650 member band that they have don't make our stadium their home field advantage. There was a picture on their website of a performance in Texas Stadium that they spelled out Eagles end zone to end zone and sideline to sideline.
Congratulations to Hightower for a fine season. Unfortunately the championship was earned by Allen. I can say both teams showed some excellent play and both teams certainly had outstanding programs. Hats off to Coach Hallmark and our boys for their success and providing their fans with some very exciting football.

I thought that the coach lost this game. Weird formations, weird playcalls. Get the ball to #12! During the last drive they were lining him up in the slot on the short side of the field running meaningless routes.
Hightower had far superior talent IMO, but they blew it with undisciplined play and odd coaching.
Congrats to Hightower for getting where they got though.
