Heisman

Who is your Heisman pick?

at this point i give it to harrell, because he's taken his team farthest and has done so with a less talented team than the other options.

It's Herrell's to lose. McCoy had his shot....but the mind can only do so much over the body. Mccoy is pretty beat up now. The two picks last week were a result of the aggregate of all the shots he took during the gauntlet run. Wonder if the forty acres truly appreciates the guy ?

If Teabow won last year on the body of his stats....quid pro quo baby.

Best PRO prospect is probably Crabtree... That kind of a vote would indicate the voters had a brain. And we all know from votes past, they do not.

I'd say probably Harrell this year but I think the Heisman is such a weird award. I think Crabtree is the most talented player of all of them listed, but he's not going to win it.

I've always thought the Heisman was a joke after Jason White won it in 2003. That NEVER made any sense to me at all (except that he managed a very good team). You have Eli Manning who wins the Maxwell Award which goes to the nation's best all-around player, and the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm award that goes to the nation's outstanding senior quarterback. But Jason White wins the Heisman as a senior quarterback that didn't win either of the other awards. The only way I see that humanly possible is if a QB like Troy Smith or Vince Young takes the Heisman who is a threat through the air and on the ground. White wasn't one of those QB's, he had two bum knees. It was only b/c he was on such a good team and sadly he won it instead of two better college players in Eli Manning and Larry Fitzgerald.

Never liked the Heisman... it's overrated. :)

I was the lone Bradford vote. Actually I thought Crabtree should of won it last year. Bradford has been lights out even in the loss against Texas, Bradford out performed Colt. He is the best QB prospect in this draft IMO.

Unfortunately, Harrell & Crabtree will probably take each other out of the race.

If Tech goes undefeated, let those two share the trophy.

I agree with Bah007 about Harrell and Crabtree inadvertantly cancelling each other out. Since Tebow won it last year, and is not having as good of year now (in my minds eye), narrows it down to McCoy and Bradford... Which of those two guys will go further??

TEXAS ----> @ Kansas; v. A&M
OU--------> v. Texas Tech; @ OSU (Bedlam)

Texas has the easier of the remaining schedules, so my final answer: McCoy

*** But I would like to add: no matter what, the list presented is very impressive. And congrats to the Big XII this season.

I voted for Harrell but it could go just as easily to Crabtree (Who made who?), at this time. They have to win out all their games I think for either of them having a chance, and that will be a tall order against Oklahoma at Oklahoma. If they can do that, then I think one of them should win it. But, if Bradford has a great game and the Sooners win, the trophy might be his. Not sure where Colt and Tebow stand at this point. JMHO!

I agree with you about them having to win all their games to have a chance but why?

You'd think considering Colt McCoy has a better defense on his side than Graham Harrell does that Colt would need to do more to win. But I guess the system QB thing offsets that, or more than offsets it.

I really want Crabtree to win, because I think he is head and shoulders over everyone in the NCAA as best player.

Crabtree is the best college receiver I have ever seen in my short life.

My list:

1. Michael Crabtree - Texas Tech
2. Colt McCoy - Texas
3. Graham Harrell - Texas Tech
4. Shonn Greene - Iowa
5. Tim Tebow - Florida

I try to look at the Heisman as sort of an MVP award. There are other awards that go to Best QB, Best Offensive Player, etc...

So I look at the Heisman as going to the player that is most valuable to his team.

i agree with yall that crabtree's easily the best player of the bunch and the best pro prospect. harrell and crabtree have been joking with the idea of cancelling eachother out for heisman. they each made political commercials a while back on why they should win it that i thought were funny: "what happens if i'm not there to catch the ball?" ... "what's crab going to catch if i'm not throwing him the ball?". "vote ME for heisman".

"CRAB!"(while snapping hands like crab claws) "TREE!"(while forming a tree by making a triangle with my thumbs and index fingers together).....
