What, me worried?

Remember Alfred E. Neuman (MAD magazine)???

Well, after reading this piece by Robertson (Chronicle), I AM worried.:

So the Texans have gone into the second period leading just twice, against Detroit (0-9) and Cincinnati (1-8).

But the slow starts don’t appear to be a front-burner issue with coach Gary Kubiak or his offensive coordinator, Kyle Shanahan, who said he was unaware the Texans were struggling at the outset.

Kubiak dismisses the data as aberrant, saying: “We haven’t had the ball very much. I want to say last week we touched the ball twice in the first quarter. We were three and out, then we had the big drive and turned the ball over.”

I'll buy a CLUE for...........uh, let me see.............oh yeh...........for 17 cents.

No biggie. With as many problems as this team has, I'm not surprised that they can't keep track of all of 'em.

I was not going to comment, BUT that has to be the stupidest response and excuse I have ever heard anyone give. The reason we haven't had the ball very much is because our defense sucks and is not doing its job...any first year coach or geeze any fan can see that. Now I think I'm on the fire kubiak bandwagon.

If the offense wouldnt turn the damn ball over and the defense could get some stops then maybe this stat would be different.

And maybe we'd be 9-0

I read that this morning and must admit I laughed. It was a pretty dumb response for sure but maybe that is just the least of their problems. Either way, this didn't give me warm fuzzies for the remainder of the season. Now that I think about it, the only warm fuzzies I've seen or heard this season were under my couch.:hides:

It was a CYA answer, for sure.

"Huh? Do what? I can't hear you. Did you ask something? The ice machine makes a whirring noise. You asked about the slow start to each game? I couldn't quite make out what you were saying."

We're going to have to endure this CRAP for 1 more year. I don't live in fantasy land where I can imagine Gary Kubiak getting over the top. This is year 3, and while it started off promising...it's going flat in a hurry.

Spare me any lectures of how I am supposed to rationalize this CRAP called an NFL team. I hate the "Well, we're not the Bengals" poo. Doy! And we're not the Giants or the Steelers or any of the other teams who resemble competent and legitimate football t-e-a-m-s, either. And I want my team to be like the best, not slightly better than the worst.

I'll watch the first four Colts touchdown drives, and subsequently our 3-and-outs or our brainfarts when in range of points of our own, and shut the TV off. Should happen about the latter part of the 2nd quarter.

I've defended Gary all this time. But I am starting to notice that he just doesn't have a clue at times.

“We’ve been able to get off to fast starts against them,” coach Tony Dungy said when asked to explain his team’s dominance of its AFC South rival. “That certainly helps you, getting them out of their running game and into their throwing game.
Its not hard to get Kubiak-Martz out of his running game...you just need to be patient and the Texans will not even try to run the ball.

We get a "Duece McAllister" type back and a few more pieces of Gibbs ZBS and that may change.

Stop it. No Beanie Wells please.

Doc what do you think about Adam Ulatoski's Elbow, the left tackle for Sodom on Towne lake ? He played with it yesterday. I think it's Hyper extended. Will he get it back ? Will it heal over time or will it always be..."damaged" ?

There are lots of variables in this question. First we don't really know if this is simply a hyperextension problem or to what degree of strain/tear of the anterior capsule of the elbow joint. There are bursa problems and a several other conditions including stress fractures that can account for significant elbow pain with compromised ROM. What we do know is that he was suffering with this problem quite a bit of time before this last game. With "overuse" injuries like this appears to be, conservative treatment the most important of which is REST is mandatory. Prognosis for most "overuse" injuries is quite good. When should there be return to play? There is no set time. The rule of thumb........when the player is "comfortable," when there is FROM, and when the injured side returns to 90% of strength of the uninjured side.................unless the injured side is the dominant side, in which case the injured side must return to strength of the nondominant side. I have my doubts that this player was allowed to meet these criteria, in that there were reports of him wearing a sling up until the time of the game. Too early return can, and many times does, lead to further more serious injuries, recovery and consequences of the elbow function.

Not Duece specifically.

And definitely not someone who gets hurt often.

Someone who gets the 4th and inches, or the 3-4 yard grind, or can keep the ball out of the opponents hands to hold a lead.

I've watched him Criss Wells close the last couple of games and he runs high just like Cris Brown. He takes tremendous shots in college. He's going to get killed on the next level. I'm with you on a bigger Rb...just not Wells.
