Vick takers?

So Mike Vick gets out of prison in July. Anybody willing to take him on here? Dogfighting conviction notwithstanding, he's otherwise an out-of-trouble guy. And a helluva player. Might be worth taking a shot as Schaub's backup. Or trade bait when he looks good in relief and/or preseason.

Nah. No thanks.

Too much baggage at this point that outweighs his production.

Besides, he'd never pass the Bob McNair white glove test.

Ron Mexico will head to the Raiders. Bank on it.

Didn't you see? The dog fighting ring here just got busted up. NO way Vick would want to come to H=town.

Seriously though, I highly doubt mcnair would be cool with him. No way he gets a shot

He's not a good QB. Match that up with everything else and I'll pass.

First and foremost the bold.

Now, just like I thought they should do when they were together in Atlanta, stick Vick in at RB with Schaub at QB and imagine the havoc you could create. Not saying really use Vick as a RB anymore than Bush gets used as a RB, but the matchups and decision making for the other team are a nightmare. League minimum for a Reggie Bush who can also throw the ball--yeah, that is worth the chance.

Won't happen though.

Seconded...

Has he even been re-instated yet?

On the other hand, our rushing game would be more productive... :whip:

well would there be a revolt with the PC crowd? to have Ron Mexico on the back of a Texans jersey?

after all there was stink about the 1836's

:kingkong:

Michael Vick is the only player that I can think of that I would literally take all my Texans shirts, pants, socks, and everything else I own, throw it on a big pile in the driveway and burn it. And that would be the end of me as a Texans fan. I can put up with a lot, but I'm sorry I draw the line at dog fighting. The guy should rot in prison the rest of his life. He shouldn't even be breathing the same air I do. Not just no but hell no.

Ummm, put Porky down for a no.

You act like the guy killed a couple people ?

Look, this isn't a thread to debate dog fighting. You want to have that debate, go to the no spin zone. I have my personal opinion about what he did. As far as I am concerned he is no better than a common low life thug. So, if you don't like that opinon, that's fine. But, I don't change my core principals at the alter of winning. There are far more important things than winning at football, and that guy is a loser at life.

******* no... not only is he a worthless human being, but he has ZERO accuracy. what we don't need.

What if Bud Adams some how became owner or part owner of the Texans? I would imagine most of you would pile your gear up in the center of the Astro Dome and have a regular cook out.

I know it is a joke but MLB would let cuban by the cubs before Houstonians would let Bud buy this franchise .. or atleast I hope

Well since a guy can not own more than one, why would anyone other than you think about it? :mcnugget:

When I think of that guy electrocuting dogs, I wouldn't do anything but boo at him. He ought to try and get on as a backup somewhere. Maybe Jerry Jones will take a shot. He couldn't be any worse than over the hill Brad Johnson.

The only thing I disagree with in this post. If Michael Vick gives the Texans wins, I don't care if he kills his own wife! *cough*O.J. Simpson!*cough*

I'm gonna make a really bad analogy, but here it goes...

I hate Scientology, I think it is stupid. Tom Cruise is a Scientologist. That still doesn't get me to stop watching his movies. Mostly because Tom Cruise's job is to entertain me, and he does a good job of that in his movies. I don't care what he does outside of entertaining me. Same goes with Michael Vick.

I second that...........just look at his STATS Add to that his absence from football, unless you want to delude yourself about his conditioning.............prison football style.

Besides, if he is taken by some team, everytime you see him on the field this is the only visual he'll be able to offer to most fans. He'll never be able to shed this image.

McNairs a Gamecock, which are trained to fight to the death just like pittbulls.
Whats the problem ?

actually gamecocks are not trained to fight to the death...they just do it naturally. I watched an episode about Roy Jones Jr...he's a bigtime chickenfighter and that is what he said.

Soooooo Dogfighting bad...chickenfighting....natural.

p.s don't take me too seriously.. just kidding around...I mean, the football season IS over....right?

God no, not as a QB. However, the Reggie Bush type player makes sense, but I would probably so no in the long run.

If the Texans signed Vick, I would get rid of every piece of Texans merchandise that I own. They would be as good as relocated to me.

Before I get to this, put me down for a hell no. On principle alone hell no.

The Astro Dome? You people in Tenn Essee are funny. :spit:

I think some team does want him, but is afraid of the bad publicity. IMO, he won't start off in the NFL. He'll be shipped off to some CFL team (my guess is Montreal) to test the backlash. If it doesn't work out, nobody will care, but if he actually plays well & fans accept him there; somebody will be waiting for him with an NFL contract :twocents:

The commissioner of the new United Footbal League that will begin next year is already negotiating with Vick to become their priemiere "trophy" player. That's his most likely destination.

He did a bad thing. He has done his time, more time than some sex offenders and murderers! All that said what do my fellow texan lovers think about houston bringing in Michael Vick for a try-out next season. He is suppose to be released June 20. Playing football and being an upstanding citizen is his only option. After prison and debt he is just about has poor as you are me. Next stop would be bagging grocieries. I know there are some that hate him and think he should be in jail forever! But he has done his time and should be given a second chance. He has done much more to be given a second chance than Pacman Jones and he was let back even though he screwed it up. If Vick screws it up thats on him. Of course everything is an "If" but we are not making much progress in terms of winning anyway!

So "If" Michael Vick is still physically able to do the things he did before, even if his running ability has diminished some he could still be productive.

We have found a running back and only need a backup to solidify the run game! Michael Vick has never dreamed of having a reciever to throw to like Andre Johnson. Johnson would make is mediocre pass ability seem outstanding.

So think about a Houston Texans team with a productive running game, a great reciever and a dynamic playmaking quarterback with a dying need to prove that he is a better man! I think it would be worth a look!
What you think guys?
