Was the officiating that bad?!?

Would love some feed back from someone who saw the TV broadcast. From the Bull Pen it looked like the refs were paid off! Obvious calls against the Ravens not called and wild, random calls on us that should have been NO calls at all! And all of those calls came at very important turning points! I lost my voice screaming at those officials and was curious, was I just drinking koolaid, or was it that bad?.

The Ref's were nitpicky, but not at fault for the loss.

Turnovers and a shitty defense was once again the reason for yet another loss. :gun:

Working?
Uhh, I disagree. I think it was a huge momentum killer. That holding call on OD that took back Slaton's big run was a big killer. That could have changed the entire tone of the game

We could have limited them to FGs or punts a couple of times, but were forced into a 1st and goal at the 1 for BS interference calls

Very tight calling both ways but some really ticky-tack stuff on us. I agree, the OD holding call was bogus. There was another PI--don't remember which one now--in the endzone that was also junk.

But like the others said, you can't fault the refs for the L. Bad defense + Sage's turnovers quickly turned a competitive game into an ugly blowout.

We lost because we stunk up the joint! That being said, pass interference when a receiver stops his route and turns around and runs into you is ridiculous!!

It could have been diferent if those calls didnt happen!

I feel like we didn't show up in the fourth quarter. They scored 22, we scored 0. Not to mention we were losing when the 4th quarter started.

The worst call was the call against Bennett that was pass interference. He barely touched the guy, yet on the Texans next posession their corner pushes our receiver 8 yards up field and there is no call.

That's my biggest problem with this team right now. They let adversity completely deflate them. Bad calls are on the refs - loss of momentum is on the team. Bad calls happen, and bad calls happen at bad times, but when you're 3-6 coming off of a 41-13 loss, the refs really shouldn't enter in to the conversation very much.

The bigger concern was how the defense played after half time. By the fourth quarter, they were defending short fields and gassed and obviously completely befuddled. After the half, they had no excuse for letting that drive happen other than just being bad.

The Texans ran the ball exactly one time in the third quarter. Even though you are down a bunch, that is still a lot of time to score, and the Texans have proven that they can score quickly. But they didn't run the ball enough to keep an aggressive defense honest at all.

Really, the second half was tha anatomy of how to let a game get out of hand.

The Ref looked at me before the game and pulled out a yellow flag and laughed. They had it in for the Texans before the season started.

We lost the game cause we have a guy at the controlls who cannot even mange the game clock. He calls passing plays when we are 3 score ahead, he calls passing plays on 1st and goal. He cannot train his defense to put pressure on a rookie QB.

We lost this game Because we have a Coach who cannot prepare his team to step out onto a football feild and play Football.

Gary Kubiak is the reason we are losing and we need to change that as soon as possible.

Apparently Morlon didn't totally agree with the PI against him in the endzone:http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/fb/texansfront/6103896.html

“We were in man coverage,” Greenwood said. “I was running down there. I just wanted to catch up before I actually turned and looked at the ball. It looked like I got there right when the ball came, but they called the pass interference on me.”

Really Morlon? Seriously, that's your excuse? That was some blatant face-guarding flailing of the arms as you run into a receiver PI. Period. You had no intent of turning around on that throw. Could have turned around earlier and had plenty of time to find the ball and probably make a play on it but something went wrong. Can anyone think of some examples of the defenses we have faced with coverage similar to Morlon on this play or Reeves in general? Because I just can't. Absolutely pathetic coverage, I could play better coverage in flag football and I can't believe he tried to excuse the PI on that play when it was so obvious.

QFT!

I thought they were over-the-top, but they were that way in BOTH directions. It worked more against US (since we'd cleaned up our act this year), but it didn't affect the outcome IMHO.

I thought the no call on the illegal forward pass on Flacco was pretty bad. IMHO that's a fumble, and it would've been our ball with possible advancement. It also came on the drive right after our TD.

In the 2009 NFL draft the Houston Texans select.....a referee!!!!! That's what it's gonna take to win a few games.

Oh and don't think the refs will be there to get ole Peyton back in the race this week.

I do not think we lost because of the Refs but wow was it frustrating watch them hold our team back. It was terrible!

I thought that was grounding there was no way he was outside the tackle box on that play.

I didn't see the play but I would love to. Mark and Andre were fuming over it on the radio saying that Kubiak HAS to throw the flag. When I got to my seats, someone told me he was clearly out of the box and his arm was clearly going forward.

Again, I would love to see it. Does anyone have a video of the play?

No but he was inside the box. The pass however...looked more like a fumble with some go on it.

Calls seemed pretty damn bad from my spot in the bullpen.

That being said, WOW that deutsche in a yellow shirt surely would not let you express it. He went around to at least 10 ppl, threatening to eject them if they put up the bird again.

Anyone who thinks the PI call on Greenwood in the end zone was a bad call doesn't know football. That was flagrant. Terrible coverage. My Grandmother could cover better, and she's 6 ft under. We have to get a replacement for Greenwood this offeseason. He is bringing down the whole front 7. He's just awful. Cut him twice. Once for being a lousy football player and again for being a lousy rapper.

I would say the officiating was very overly "tight" on both teams. Anything even remotely close to a foul was going to be called. What we did was play right into that. Sometimes you have to make adjustments. At the half, and throughout, the coaches should have been telling the guys that this crew sucks, they are going to call everything, and try to play cleanly. They didn't, so they go flagged.

This game (again) ultimately falls on the crummy QB that is Sage Rosencopter, and a pathetic Defense that couldn't fight it's way out of a wet paper bag. That group couldn't stop the Little sisters of the Poor with Mother Teresa as QB.

I BLEED TEXANS!
Whoever the main ref was didn't know his head from his butt. I love how the NFL gives us the crappy refs for each game.

Plus, since I didn't get to see the TV broadcast, on the radio he sounded like:

We get crappy refs because we suck it we starting winning some games better refs will be at our games. Its the same reason we have Gus Johnson doing play by play on tv. If we get good Jim Nantz will be there its no secret.

I agree there were some ticky tacky calls, but after the first or second PI, you have to realize they are calling it touchy and change your approach. They didnt.
