New Mock on CBSsportsline

Why is Cedrick falling so far down.

There are a few reasons why one or more of the top 3 RB's may not go as early as some have predicted. One, RB's have not in the last few years been taken that high so teams see value in getting guys like Kevin Jones, Julius Jones and Steven Jackson later in the draft. Two, at the top of the 1st round you are instantly making the guy one of the top paid RB's so you have to consider the cap ramifications. QB's, LT's , CB's and WR's are the guys whose salaries can still be justified when drafted high. Three, Alexander, Henry and Edgerrin James are out there for the having--my bet is one or more of the teams with perceived RB needs at the top makes a deal for those guys and drafts someother position. None of the above reflects at all on Benson's or the other RB's ability. The one recent knock on Benson is his 40 yd times were slower than expected.

And the fact he already has alot of carries on those legs.

Prisco has Barron going to the Bears at 4 ...Both mocks have us passing on Mike Williams, which isn't too unrealistic...It's good to see something different after navigating through hundreds of mocks with us taking Barron...

Ive made several posts on this board about the Bears need for help on the O-line . they lead the NFL in sacks last year with 66 and had a total of 449 lost yards due to those sacks . Easy to see them take Barron and i hope they do for the simple fact that it would move another player down the list closer to 13 .

I really hope we dont waste #13 on Barron, i'm not sold on him. If we must take a o-line in the first, trade down and take Jammal Brown. But id rather see us go o-line in 2nd or most probably the 3rd. ( chris spencer)

Why would we take Jammal Brown? We have a big investment in Todd Wade, and Jammal Brown never played LT in college...If we were to trade down for an OT, it would be Khalif Barnes...

I don't buy Barron to the Bears. No way, no how. In most years, the guy is a second rounder. I have read that the Texans might be alot higher on Khalif Barnes from Washington than Barron. If they trade down, Barnes is a possiblity, or possibly Jammall Brown. Personally, I am not sold on Barron. I see boom or bust with him, and he is not known as a great run blocker. Having said all of that, I really seriousely doubt the Texans go Oline in round one. I think it's going to be OLB, RB, CB, or maybe WR.
I'm going on the record. Get used to the name Demarcus Ware! :thumbup

From what I've read, the Texans O-Line coach was drooling over Barnes at his pro day workout (unsuccesfully tried finding a link), but then again Casserly said he thinks Barron could start right away next season...I really hope we don't spend our first on an OT...I really hope Casserly likes German chocolate since we've been loving Ware like a fat kid loves cake...

It isn't all that unrealistic since Casserly has two years in a row been cold on him. He may be wrong, but he is the one making the choices.

That's why I said having us passing on Williams isn't really unrealistic...McClain was just on 610 saying that most teams have Williamson rated above Williams and Oakland even has Williamson rated above Braylon Edwards...I wouldn't be at all surprised if we were to pass on Williams...
