That thread created by "The Iron Duke" was removed per request of the Texans.

It contained pictures of "meeting rooms which show confidential and proprietary information of the Houston Texans".

I know there was no mal intent and it was probably exciting to visit the meeting rooms, etc. however the Texans don't want inside things like that posted on the internet for all to see, including opponents.

We appreciate everyone's cooperation with us and the Houston Texans in this.

Oh man, I didn't mean to get us in trouble or anything. I didn't think anything too "inside" was posted. Again, sorry.

No problem Duke, you didn't know and I wasn't even aware of the photos in question. Even if I were I wouldn't have thought anything of it.

No one is in trouble. They sent me a respectful request and of course I honored it. There shouldn't be any further issue in this.

But they're so cool. Most of it was motivational posters and stuff. There were a couple of pics that might have been questionable though but it's not like I scanned the half page of Richard Smith blitz packages and posted them.

There's a whole half a page? I figured there was an index card. Maybe a matchbook cover....

I was sure he uses the drawn-in-sand method, so you can just run your shoe over it to get rid of it. But, he might have upgraded to a cocktail napkin or something.

BTW, this is just another example of "you never know who is reading your posts".

People know about this site. If you think players and other Texans officials don't come in here think again. It's good to keep that in mind when making posts, especially ones critical of players and personnel.

Entirely possible. 1 napkin for the blitz packages. Another for the calls that put Mario into coverage. :specnatz:

Does this mean that Petey is going to kneecap me for talking smack about his coverage skills (or lack thereof)?

The Mario coverage was actually the result of Smith accidentally using the cocktail napkin for his Tom Collins. The condensation smudged the play, and we ended up with Mario 20 yards downfield covering a receiver.

Same thing happened with Faggins in man coverage on Calvin Johnson, except this time Smith used the cocktail napkin to blow his nose. A booger threw the safety into a blitz.

Could we not laminate his napkins? Our defensive schemes being compromised by drink sweat and boogers is just unacceptable.

I bet it was Sage Rosenfails who reported my thread to the team. Dude hates the av.

I can't see why. What could possibly be disheartening about "Epic Fail" right beside your head?

When my brother used to work for the team, I remember there was one time we were walking through the locker room and I noticed a couple of playbooks were left out.

I was pretty amazed at how friggin big these things were: 3-inch binders. This was the Capers era so I had always assumed the playbook would be something like 20 pages: variations of the slant and quick dump-off and a handful of prevent zones. I resisted the urge to pick one up and read through it, just to see what a "real" NFL playbook looked like.

Relating to what Hook'em said about "you never know who's reading your posts," I'd say that's a good reminder. Many of us say things on here that we wouldn't say in real life to the players or coaches if we met them in person and I'm guilty of that too.

I met and talked to quite a few of the players those few years and a lot of them were for the most part really nice guys. There were a few in particular that I didn't think much of on the field but they were cool off the field in their own right. Even Mittens (who coined that name for David Carr?) was a bit of a dufus but he and his family were good folks.

Sure there were a few pricks but for the most part they are human just like you or me. I know I've bashed players or coaches (Richard Smith?) before but for the most part I try to keep it to things I would say to someone else's face.

My old basketball coach was never particularly successful, and frankly there were reasons he failed at his job. Whenever I'd talk to what few fans our team had, a lot of them dumped on him for his job performance, and in some cases rightly so (in so many others, the fans had no idea what they were talking about.) But I doubt I'll forget what a good person he was off the court, on a personal level. We fans enjoy sport, but we seldom see the human side of it.

So what you're saying is, during the Cincy game he had been drinking room temp Gatorade (no condensation) and taking Claritin (no boogers)?

yep, pretty much....well...that, and it was the Bungals.

I say nothing on here that I'm not willing to yell out at the top of my lungs at Reliant. :D

My takes are not personal, as in about the player/coach. It is about the product on the field, of which we are consumers and have a right to ***** and/or praise. Being that they play, we watch, it's all we've got!

True.

But I still don't think Petey can cover a fly route. I don't think I'd have a hard time saying that to his face. I also don't think that Richard Smith could say that his defense is really working out.

I'm still worried, though, that Faggins is going to kneecap me.

*looks under desk for CB*

Nothing wrong with calling a spade a spade or demanding accountability from a product you are paying for. I was referring more to the mean-spirited, hateful variety of commentary.

yeah, lots of keyboard and radio warriors out there. These types of fans tend to live vicariously through their sports teams, so they take outcomes a bit personal at times....not that there's everything wrong with it. :shades:
