Texans Flag

Holy crap! It even says it has some spots on it. When I got mine I folded it up, put it in clear freezer bag and put it in the closet. I haven't opened it since so it is in mint condition.

Well, I know what I will be putting on ebay tonight. ;)

oh come on now, I want one. just sell it to me for cheap :)
:kingkong:

No way I'm selling mine. Besides, you can always just have one made - especially at that price....

I don't think so. Check the bid history; Link

One person is uping there own bid? Over and Over again? Hmmm....

Actually what you are seeing is that top bidder just had a real high maximum bid. Everytime someone else bids he automatically outbids his previous bid and that will keep happening until someone outbids his maximum bid. You cannot outbid yourself unless you have using 2 different screen names which is obviously fraudulent.

That guy paid $355 for that flag.

No, actually if you look at the history, that's not what happened. If that was the case, you'd see all the other people nibbling at his bid, but his bid would only show up once. Looks like shill bidding to me?

Nonetheless HOOOOLY CRAP. Didn't know my flag / cape cost *that* much!

He's talking about proxy bidding. You put up a maximum bid of say, $355. The auction doesn't go up to $355 automatically, but everytime someone bids, you automatically put in a bid until someone goes over your maximum bid.

However, this guy kept bidding on it without anyone else trying to bid. Seems pretty fishy, but keep in mind someone actually bid $350.

So wait, the winner isn't the only one with multiple bids listed in a row though... The list shows some earlier bidders with 2 or 3 in a row.

i bid early with like 15, then like 20 and every time i bid there was someone who had already had a bid in. so who ever put in the first bid may have put in like a 300 dollar bid

I think that's the case, i don't think he was bidding over and over. I did a quick search for another random item, and it has multiple bids listed in a row by the same person. Check out that bid history - http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=270285555234

Some of you guys don't understand how ebay works. That guy was not bidding against himself.

Let say an auction price for an item is set at $10.00. Buyer A bids $11.00, however puts in a maximum bid of $100.

It will now show winning bid as

$11.00 Buyer A

Buyer B comes and bids $20 with a maximum bid of $30.00. Because his maximum bid is lower than Buyer A's maximum bid Buyer A becomes the winning bid at $30.

The auction will now show a bid history of

Buyer A $30.00
Buyer A $11.00

This will just keep happening until Buyer B makes a bid higher than $100 (Buyer A's maximum bid).

If you are the highest bidder you can raise your maximum bid however you can't keep outbidding yourself.

What happened in that auction is the winning bidder had a real high maximum bid. The other guy just kept inching him up with smaller bids until he overtook the eventual winner. Once the winner was outbid he just raised his maximum again and eventually won. That is how you have that pattern.

edit: yes, Mexican Texan is correct. We were replying at the same time I think.

I bought a second one from a scalper on Ebay shortly after they were mailed. One to treasure, one to fly ;-)

Don't forget the Go Texans store still have very heavy duty "I'm a Texan" flags.

So then I take it this:

is yours! lol

Whatever I make off that thing is going towards hosting expenses for this site which run over $300 per month.

The economy is murdering my business so I am going to have to start getting real creative in keeping this place afloat. After seeing what that auction yesterday brought in I felt I needed to put it up.

Honestly, if it wasn't for that little issue I would probably hold on to that thing.

ha ha I am the the highest bidder woo hoo

I think at the end of the season we need to beg the Texans to give us more flags as the season ticket holder gift.

No, too many scalpers would get flags. Should be...first 10,000 people at the game. People at UH show up for football games hours before even tailgating starts to get a free t-shirt.

That sucks. We wake up late so we don't get inside the stadium until about 11:50. which means....

We would miss out on the giveaway since we'd be the 10,001st fan. :/

I put in a high bid of 145, I can't go any higher. People are killing me and its still got 6 days left. Lets see this flag go higher than any other. Its going towards a good cause

I guess I am in the minority. I have the flag folded up and put away somewhere, never used. I really have never known what to do with the darn thing.

lmfao, check out how many texans flags are on ebay now after that 350 dollar auction.

I see at least 5. Wow.

I only found 1 other and she ripped my picture off.

Also, if people are putting those things up because they saw that $350 auction they aren't very smart by putting them up while other auctions are going on. Simple suppy and demand.
