power rankings

We're right at where we deserve to be right now. Some other teams i'm in question of. *coughtitanscough*

Here's the FoxSports edition...
http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/powerRankings

They have us at 25. Considering we've only won once, that's really kind of generous. since they have us just under the Browns and above the two-win Niners.

Matt Schaub is still fighting for his job, but no matter what happens from now forward he'll always have the Dolphins game in his memory banks. If he can beat the Lions and Bengals the next two weeks, he could just rally Houston into playoff contention. COOL STAT: After averaging 14.5 points/game in their first two games, the Texans have averaged 27.7 ppg in their last three games. THIS WEEK: vs. Lions
And apparently they don't listen to Kubiak. No. Nope. No QB controversy here. Nothing to see here. Move along. Move along.

The question is, with 7 of our final 11 games vs. teams ranked in the bottom 12 of the league (per this list anyway), and 2 of our 3 remaining divisional games at home, will we take advantage of that, or will we prove that the #25 ranking (which I don't disagree with given the five games so far) is truly the neighborhood we belong in. Yeah, we're 1-4, but things could still turn out pretty good, or pretty bad. Here's hoping it's the first thing!

I despise the Titanic's and .... Buck Fud. But its hard to overlook "SCOREBOARD" ..... 5-0 is 5-0 .

I hate the Titans too, but undefeated is what it is. They haven't played nothing but cupcakes either, they've had a few difficult teams sprinkled in there schedule so far (Jags, Vikings, both games I thought the Tits would lose) unlike some other teams *coughGIANTScough*.

Let em have their glory, they field a mean defense this year (unfortunately).

You're confusing me..you say they haven't played anybody but "cupcakes" (that would include the Texans too since they've played) but then you say they've had a few difficult games. So which is it? I'm not following what you're saying....

I do think probably nobody anywhere figured the Titans would be "THE" team to beat right now in the NFL. I know I never did. :bat:

i could have told you that they would be a hell of alot better with a quarterback. how is slash feeling anyway? is he still down in the dumps or has he turned that frown upside down? god i love it!

They've surprised me. Alot. As have the Falcons.

I agree. We know from brutal experience the Titans been winning with stingy defense and a good running game for the past two years. And now that the running game has added Chris Johnson its better than good.

And "Slash"...??
Don't you have to have multiple talents to earn the nickname "Slash"?
Let's seeee...

Running ability - pass
Catching ability - fail
Passing ability - fail

how about "Crash"?
or maybe "Flash" as in flash in the pan?
:D

been saying it all year. Now that the worst qb to ever play in the NFL is benched the Titans are hands down the best team in the league. Sorry....I hate to say it....but who can beat em? Name a team.

How about this?

There are NO teams in the current NFL that cannot be beaten.

By that analogy I would say the Titans could be beaten any week. Maybe when they don't expect to be beaten they will be.

You seem to be implying NOBODY can beat them. That I don't believe. Can't go there.

Maybe a better way to say it is: assuming they're on their game, who would you pick to beat them straight up? No flukey wins or Sage-esque performances by Kerry Collins that blow games.

I've always felt that footballoutsiders.com has a good set of power rankings. They're a lot more stats oriented and have tried to make an "it" factor into their power rankings.

yeah..that's what i mean...certainly don't expect them to go undefeated...maybe i should say who is a better team right now? I certainly can't think of one.

I would not be surprised to see any team beat them. Truthfully.

And I'll bow out of this discussion because to be honest too much Titans talk gives me a migraine.

so the 49ers and CLE are better then us hmmmmm ............

Anways if we win the next 4 games then we should at least be around #17 or #18

I'm sure we are better, but those ranking us are waiting for us to actually prove it. We show promise, but our record stands at 1-4.

And what's that famous quote....you are what your record says you are.

I mean me you and your mama knows that a six foot five guy takes three steps and falls forward, he's got an eighteen inch first down. Now I know and you know that the head lines man was guessing on that forth down try in Pittsburgh. Guess what ? It don't mean squat. Anyway you want to dress it. Potential or not, that's an L.

Yeah, who give a flip about the power rankings, but hey - we've moved up to 20 and we're "streaky".

The Texans might be the streakiest team in the league, having done the following this season -- lost four straight games, then won three straight, then lost three straight, then won three straight

ESPN also has us at 20. I'm not really concerned about rankings as much as I am about not being in last place in our division this year. It's a nice mental thing to not be in last place.

The Texans are coming off of what felt like a landmark win at Lambeau Field. (PK)

20th is the exact right spot for us. Directly below all teams with a winning record. We're #1 in the sub .500 club

Streaky would be they way I would describe us to a tee. When we are on, teams should worry. When we're not, its ugly. We are suffocating on D, or such a merry band of ******* its pathetic.

Well, ended up just below the halfway mark in power rankings at 17th- bright side is it's our high water mark. Dark side... it's our high water mark.

just wait till NEXT YEAR!

Sometimes how you finish isn't quite good enough, but Houston fans will hold onto hope that they can be the trendy pick of next summer to finally turn the corner into being a contender. Still, even with all the promising talent on this team, it's somewhat daunting to be grinding against the Colts and Titans every year.

COOL STAT: After allowing 28+ points in their first five and eight of their first 10 games this season, the Texans held every opponent to 24 or less in their final six games.

Cowboys at 19!

Wooohooo! How sweet it is! Life is good right now. :doot: :smiliedance:

It couldn't have happened to a better team! Except maybe the tacks and bottomline bud.

I'm just glad I won't have to here anything about the cowplops (maybe it should be cowflops) at work for the next few months. :whip:
