Anatomy of a Play: Schaub's sneak - NFL.com

My gosh, they must've replayed that play like 20 times in that 2 1/2 minutes. Every replays was as sweet as the first one.

Oooooh...Brisiel almost HELD the DT right when Schaub went past the DT.

Brisiel's right arm extended out and his hand tried to clutch/grab at the DT's upper body. It's noticeable on one of the last replays in that clip.

Wow. That would have been "game over" with a 10-second run off, right?

LOL. Whew!

Well I don't want to bang NFLnetwork or Matt's moment. But without the rainmaker's hall of fame catch to extend the drive, there is no QB sneak for the win. The catch should of been up for the game changing play of the week. JMHO.

Hehe, given AJ talkability that would be a 15sec video.

AJ: I ran my route, jumped up and caught the ball. I made a play.

The end.

Yep, I have to agree. But what if the ref never saw the ball hit the ground on the interception and never over-ruled it? What if Walter never made his great catch after Johnson's miracle catch? What if?

Just think, this could be "The Drive" that turns the whole season around for the Texans! :yahoo: :texflag:

it was inside the 2-minute warning, so refs would likely take a look at it.

I was at the game, and right before the snap, I yelled "Schaub up the middle", about five times, I just saw no one there to defend. But when I yelled it, most people were looking at me with this look, "like, yeah right", and when it happened, they looked back at me and were jumping up and down giving high fives.

Favorite quote about this play comes from Eric Winston:

“When he scored, I never wanted to hug a grown man so much in my life,” right tackle Eric Winston said. “It was an awesome call.

“Matt doesn’t scare anybody with his legs, but I was pretty sure it was going to work because we motioned the back (Steve Slaton), and that took the linebacker (Channing Crowder) out of the middle.”

:hobie:

I was at home and yelled at the TV "Quarterback Draw", since they had run the play with Sage in the pre-season for a touchdown, and it was stated then that the Broncos used it alot, and Kubiak brought it over. Shaub did a great job of heaitating until the hole opened.

It's also a great example of how badly we need an upgrade at RG... and, believe me, that's not me lobbying for Studdard.

Back on my soap box: I'd like to see Chris White at center and Brandon Frye at RG. Meyers and Briesel are really poor right now!

I liked that quote also!! I adore Eric Winston! One of my fav TEXANS!!

I was yelling "hurry the f--k up!" I like Schaub, but damn, it felt like an eternity until he crossed the goal line......then I almost peed my pants when he did.

Afterwards, having watched the replay several times I got to wondering what he was thinking while throwing a bullet at the Texans wall?

Could it have meant 'screw y'all booing M-Fers'? Just saying

Tell the truth.. You did pee your pants....

And yes, I hope he was saying "screw y'all booing M-Fers" because it was pretty damn disgusting and embarrassing. Funny to hear the announcers last night say something about the fans booing prematurely....

Well, the whitey tighties did have a couple spots of yellow in the front. A scrape of brown in the back too. Not sure where the brown fits in.

I've just never seen the point of booing. I've never done it and likely never will. :mcnugget:

W..T..I...!!!!!!!

I'm not going to lie, I've booed before. I've booed the Oilers, Astros and Texans. However, booing the way folks booed Sunday was asinine. I felt like some people who don't really know football booed, well, for the sake of booing because their drunk buddy next to them started booing... Or the "we want Sage" chants. I wanted to vomit blood. Rather than vomitting blood, I felt the need to remind them of Rosencopter's heroics only the week before...

QFT! (since it's annoying TLA "three letter acronym" day)

I had my co-worker (who works security at Reliant) ask me after the game if I was the one who started the "We want Sage" chants. Talk about a WTF look on my face.

I told her "Uh...no, my brain is still functioning and I can vividly remember LAST week!"

I booed (and will continue to) on a couple of really lousy play calls and poor clock management. The players themselves know whom those were directed at and aren't offended.

Ex: You're coming off of a timeout and you STILL have to call ANOTHER timeout because your QB is having an "equipment malfunction"?? How much time do you need to review down / distance and call a friggin play!

As others have said I was impressed with his move made to the right. It really looked like it was open right up the gut and then the DT closed it so to the right was the only move.

The only thing that would have made that play better is if Schaub would have done a spink move.

One of the analysts on one of the sports shows said that you could watch Schaub run into the endzone in slow motion without it even being in slow motion.

I thought the celebration after the play was a clear expression that the O is still firmly behind Schaub.

And I thought it was sort of touching in a non-footbally way how Owen Daniels admitted that his feelings were hurt for Schaub hearing the We want Sage chants. Typically players don't admit that stuff.

This is from Yahoo....I put this in another thread..makes some of the fanbase look stupid.

25. Houston Texans: Were thousands of Texans fans roasting turkeys on Sunday, or were they actually calling for a quarterback who’d blown the previous game by turning over the ball three times in the final four minutes?

so that's what they were chanting. i couldn't quite decipher the yelling from up where i was.
