Props to Kris Brown

Seriously this guy has been automatic in the last couple years.

I am never nervous when he goes to kick a FG regardless of where it is.

We should never get rid of this guy.

I love Kris Brown. He is safe as houses, never moans, and does his job bloody well. The value of a good, consistent kicker is often understated in this league.

10 out of 10 FG's this season. 10 out of 10 XP's this season.

Kicker in both my FF teams, and the only consistent player out of the lot.

Lets not forget this guys charity work off the pitch is that of a truly brilliant man as well. If someone gave me some red bull, I'd sing his praises all evening.

One team's trash is another one's treasure.............anyone remember the circumstances under which we obtained his services?.............Pittsburgh would probably give their left testicle to have him back/:texflag:

Dunno, Jeff Reed isn't too bad for the Steelers, however I don't think many teams would turn down the chance to have a Brown on their roster.

Kris Brown has been lights out last season and this season.

Remember when he shanked a FG so bad in the 9'er Texans game of the 2005 Bush Bowl that some people thought he missed on purpose? It was like a 15 yard FG attempt.

It would suck to be a kicker in Pitt, that field sucks and it's outdoors.

Kris Brown is extremely dependable and has been for his seasons as a Texan. Just look at how many games he has won for us. Plus he is a native Texan......nuff said.

Not disagreeing with that at all, Pitt isn't fun for kickers, and Brown struggled there, its just that Reed is doing a good job. Either way, Kris is class.

God that was bad. I think with hindsight it was obviously the 2005 Mario Bowl. :winky:

Let's clarify this ONE more time!!! The Steelers did NOT let K. Brown go, no drama like everyone wants to make it out to be. Kris chose to sign with the Houston Texans. :texflag: The Steelers offered him another contract, the ONLY difference was the Texans offered him guaranteed money for the 4 year contract. Kris is back in his home state of Texas...minus a U turn somewhere  :tiphat:

Brown is the most consistent player on the team. Inside 60 yards I feel no anxiety about whether or not he will make the kick. I dont even bother watching sometimes because its such a foregone conclusion he's gonna nail the kick.

Its so good to have that feeling. Seeing Gostkowski from the Pats just miss a 48 yarder I just thought to myself, "I haven't seen someone in a Texans uniform do that in awhile!!!"

Actually, it was one of Kris's worst days kicking, but he hit the one that truly counted. The guy is money most of the time.

I still remember that horrid game against Tennessee where he kicked the FG from the 30 or 40 yard line all the way into the... men's restroom. Which was also feature on Kimmel. Or how about the last game of the season that year against SF, where he miss the game winning FG, which was also like 30 or 40 yards. He was terrible that year, and people were screaming for his head.

I'm glad Kubiak kept him around though, it's really paying off. Our kickers today were absolutely money.

Should make the Pro Bowl IMHO! I hate NFL politics though. Somehow they'll find a way to keep him out.

Didn't he make it as an alternate last year? Honestly, there are a lot of really good kickers in the NFL. Brown has been Pro-Bowl quality the last two years but its hard to objectively argue against guys like Bironas and Vinatieri and thats from the AFC South alone. Only 1 spot on the Pro Bowl roster for kickers as well.

:foottap:

A) Did that U-turn take him somewhere like.... oh, say Nebraska?
B) The Dallas Area is not Texas. It's southern Oklahoma. :)

With that said, Kris has been a fine kicker. I remember someone here was calling Kris out a year or so ago. but I can't remember who it was...

A lot of people said that, I myself said at the very least bring in someone else to compete. He has been steller ever since and one spot you can say that there is no worries.

KB has been our most consistent player over the last few years, no injuries at all and always comes through.

Last year he played almost the entire year with "planter fascitis" in his plant foot.
seriously?

if he played through a whole year with plantar fascitis in his PLANT foot... g**damn... he must have one hell of a pain tolerance... it takes a tough mother****er to do that...

He still was 25 of 29 on FG and perfect on his points after soo injury or not that is consistancy, as long as he played thats all that matters.
