Texans and the numbers

Sweet... more ammo to sell myself on the apparent "direction" of this team! Good 4th down stat btw. I have been to the point for a couple of weeks now where I am yelling and praying for the opposing team to punt the ball when those close situations arise. Because you just know deep down inside its a for sure thing....and it only snowballs as more teams see others doing it so successfully against us.

Interesting (awful) stats.

I know they have work to do in still building this team, but I think they are so close. I have a feeling once a puzzle piece or two is put down... this team will do a complete 180. Don't know when it will be, hopefully this offseason when we add a couple more starters and phenominal players... but it'll come. It'll be one of those 3-13 seasons that turns into a 10-6 season w/ a playoff spot.

It's like a rifle. Right now we've got most of the pieces and the gun can hurt. It doesn't fire on all cylinders so to speak, but you can beat people over the head with it. Win the occasional fight here and there. Once we get another part or two- we'll be able to fire it and really 'hurt' some people. Right now we just can't quite shoot.

If Sage hadn't imploded at the end of the game, we would all be singing a different song. It wasn't the whole team that created the loss Sunday. We stilled played great football against the Colts. But I think yiou are right. We probqably need a few more pieces, but I would say the ones we have are working pretty good.

Very true. I think we're such an improved team and are a better team than our record, easily. So once we get another piece here or there, and maybe a light bulb comes on... the results are going to look greatly improved. Like an 'overnight' all of a sudden we're better kind of feeling.

SO really its more like a car ? :)

we give up lots of critical short yardage plays because we have no size in the middle of the field. That doesn't explain why we give up so many critical short yardage passes though....just sayin'.

Maybe they are related as I think the short passing game is influenced more by inside push than coverage or a good speed rush.

good point and we have stayed away from guys like Shawn Rogers, John Henderson, Kris Jenkins and Albert Hainsworth since we want 'slashers'...but slashers don't destroy interior linemen and push them back 5 yards due to sheer force.

i didnt read to see how these guys come up with thier stats but if you look at total yardage. we are 13 on offense and 18 on defense. that looks a lot better. especially considering or schedule. ill just stick with those numbers, makes me feel better.

You reminded of another issue is not having any real tall guys who can bat some balls on occassion when a QB drops short. Often with those taller DTs just regualrly getting thier hands up may screw up passing lanes.

its kinda funny how most of the fans who think Kubiak and the Texans will 'turn it around' are the same fans who made excuse after excuse for Carr saying that he would 'turn it around'. I hope they are more accurate on this topic, than they were with DC. maybe some of the sheeple can mix in some objectivity now and then.
