thats my prediction. this team is starting to play some good football. reminds me of the oilers when moon got here right before we started winning. we are not getting physically beat on the field(except pitt) we just havent quite found a way to win.

3 super bowl contenders, 3 road loses. and you guys keep trying to find someone to blame. maybe find the guy who made out our schedule, start there.

Sigh...we could actually be a good team but every week we find a way to lose.

Some way we find a way. There is always one thing to be glad about "Oh Slaton had a good game" "Our Offense looked good" "Mario was a beast"

But we can never be happy about the whole package. Either the Defense makes a big stop and the Offense turns around and gives it up...or the Offense makes a play and the Defense can't stop....if its not that it's Kubiak helping the team find a way to lose.

10-6!! haha that is awesome.

hey, stranger things have happened...
...but I gotta say you are either on drugs or you are just really high

You guys better quit being positive. Its not safe around here right now for optimist. Doesnt matter that we just lost to a playoff team on the road in overtime. We suck! Our coach needs to be fired! All our secondary needs to be cut! Havent you been paying attention!

J/K cant wait till next week! Were going to kick ass!!!!! 13 and 3 BABY!!!!woooohooo!!

this team is 6-10 material not 10-6.

sorry to send some reality your way.

You're watching different games than the ones I've seen. The team has not been badly outplayed in the last two games. Pittsburgh was a butt whomping, but the Texans showed improvement today.

At the beginning of the preseason, I was saying 9-7, outside shot at 10-6...
After we got our asses handed to us by Dallas and Blitzburgh, I pinned us at a borerline 7-8 win team...
but now I'm saying 8-8, outside shot at 9-7.

It's hard for me to see us going 10-6 with the lousy defense we're throwing out there. Richard Smith has a more likely chance of getting fired then us going 10-6, IMO.

Of course I will welcome 10-6, but only 1-2 plays/coach's decisions make the difference b/t Ws and Ls. Our division is too good and our team is so fragile historically with injuries that I just don't see this happening..8 or 9 wins would be the most I would bet on if I were a bit optimistic/homeristic. We even have bad luck as we didn't even win a coin toss:voodoo:

I agree...this team will be just fine.

Screw your courage to the sticking-place,

I agree. Going into the season I said that 2-3 over the first five games would be a success considering those tough road games. Mother Nature threw us a curveball, but I still think this is a decent football team with upside potential.

Once Kubiak learns game management, the Texans might start winning tough road games.

I dig your optimisim... but is that prediction for this year? You've got 3 more losses to give. I'm not sure about Jags (or heaven help us, Titans) as superbowl contenders. I did find it interesting that there was a highlight of the Tenn game showing AJ with 4 dropped passes in or close to the end zone, I thought it was just 2?

So, yeah - we COULD be 2-1 right now, but no team heart and no fire = 0-3.

I have made the 10-5 prediction for the last 2 years. I dont think its gonna happen now. as long as our d cant freaking make a stop on third down when we need it.( this week on a 4th and 8.

I'm downgrading my prediction of 7 to 9 wins this year to 6 to 8 wins after today.

so what you're saying is we suck on the road and can't beat divisional opponents. yep that says 10-6.

0-3 start to a 10-6 finish ?! ..... Excuse me while I :spit:

Lets try that again 0-3 start and a 10-6 finish means that they go 10-3 the rest of the way ..... thats a stretch even for my sometimes blind homerism. I'll give ya 6-10 but not 10-6.

Our schedule actually gets a lot easier after these first 3
5 of the next 6 games are at home.
I think this year we can beat the Colts, esp. at home. The team we put on the field today looked a lot better. From my estimates, that looks like 10-6. Maybe I'm overly optimistic, but we have a lot of winnable ball games left in our schedule.

Aaron Rodgers is injured for the Packers. That might not be an L for us.

I agree that we have winnable games. I just don't think we're better than 9-7.

The teams in bold above have the type of defenses that the Texans seem to struggle with. None of them outside the Packers have a really good offense and with Rodgers hurt the Pack may fall into that catagory as well. Thing is that I dont expect much from the Texans offense in those games and we all know that when this team has to rely upon its defense to win .... they are in trouble.

the NFC north teams

MInn

The Texans need to have a longer than 3 game winning streak before they need to start worrying about winning 10 out of the next 13.

everyone one of those teams are looking at their ahead schedules and putting a W next to Houston. pointless to look ahead at this point and mark off wins and losses, i doubt anyone here picked an 0-3 start

I picked 1-3. We would've beaten Baltimore.

Many did predict 1-3 ..... maybe not 0-3 but .... a win against the Dolts puts them at 1-3.

you know, we really should have won this game today. Had we not been fooled in the first Q and given up that touchdown, that was the difference and then some.
Having said that, if we can win one of those games that we're "not supposed to" like against the colts or packers while not losing the gimmie games against the lions of the league...who knows..just so many ifs and injury chances.....

I think the Texans are considered by many to be in this group.

I think there's a lot of football fans of other teams that do not put the Texans in the same group as the Rams, Lions, Chiefs bottom rung of the NFL yet. If we go 0-4 or 0-5 then yes, but right now at 0-3 but showing a sign of life in the last game, people are probably going to give us the benefit of the doubt for one maybe two more weeks.

But yeah, we're hovering right around laughable right now.

I think the fans of the Texans are the ones who give them the benefit of the doubt. Why would anyone in the league be afraid to play them? Who are they afraid of? If they can name Andre, Mario, and DeMeco they certainly don't think those three players can beat them. They aren't afraid of Chester "the best lineman on the team" Pitts, Jacoby "what a steal in the third round" Jones, Matt "he's better than Rosenfels" Schaub, or Gary "he's learning" Kubiak. On the other side of the ball, with just a couple of exceptions we have a true "no name" defense.

Fans sometimes confuse familiarity with talent. The other 0fer fans are putting Ws by the Texans as our fans do theirs.

Most fans that I've talked to that root for other teams think that the Texans have too much talent on their offense to really be as abysmal as the teams mentioned above. It's easy to think that everyone else says we suck, but there are plenty of people who don't root for the Texans that know that they can field an offense that can put points on the boards (It's just that they don't always do that for whatever reason).

You are seriously underestimating how bad those other teams are.

if they can win a road game against the Patriots, why not

Other teams' fans are scared of the Texans. You should be shaking.

Maybe it's mostly the fans of other teams that live here and are familiar with all the untapped protential on the team that are scared. I don't know.

Well take, for instance, even if we win 3 out of the next 4. We will be 3-4 with Dunta coming back in November right around that Ravens game. So say in November we go 2-2, that has us a 5-6. I could see us winning 3 out of 5 in December. I'm saying 8-8 for another year.

untapped potential isn't really scary when it's untapped

Dolphins were rolling the last time they were in here and Ronnie Brown hurt his knee. I look at the schedule and I think about who the running backs are for each of those squads...in some cases they are loaded with two feature runners. I don't see a three game win streak any where in there. That's the goal...win three in a row. Something we've never done before. Right now one in a row looks pretty good. As long as the talent is what it is on the defense...kinda hard to see a run. Adibi's not ready nor is Molden. But they may be forced to make a move. The Revees audition has got to be at the end of the rope. I don't know how many more times they need to see Greenwood spit the bit in space to make a move.

I'd settle for our first 3 game winning streak....ever...10-6 seems ridiculous at this point. We'd have to go 10-3 the rest of the way and I'm sorry to say it, but that just ain't happening. The league is just too good for this bad defense to win that many games.

Buddy Ryan's 46 defense led the Oilers on a 12 game win streak . I think Mario and Demeco could play on that defense ... that's it .

Agreed. To go 10-6 you have to eventually beat a good team on the road. That is one thing that bothers me. Everyone likes to make excuses that we are 0-3 because we ran into 3 playoff teams on the road. Well guess what? We will have to play playoff teams on the road, especially if we ever make the playoffs!

This is a good team. We will probably get hot and win 3 games here, 2 games there, and finish up 7-9 or 8-8. Hello 16th pick in the draft.
