A disconcerted and disgruntled Jaguars Fan

Texans love to do nothing more than crush the Jaguars spirit every opportunity they get. Texans may as well see this game as nothing more than being the closest to a Super Bowl as they can get at this point with
their prospects to beating Jacksonville after their 0-2 start never being so high.

The Texans know the impact of a win against Jacksonville will remove all doubts of the Texans being a pretender with the 0-2, not to metnion the labor pains born from the painful effect that the devastation from a hurricane unleashed. Last time I seen a team this Hungry was when the Saints charged to the NFC championship game, and with the prospects of seeing an 0-2 giant team make it to the SB last season, Texans may as well have a red carpet rolled out for their victory against jacksonvile given the fact that the emotional state between these two teams could not be any further divided on the spectrum of hunger.

"Houstonians still without POWER"

A win against Jacksonville would take the the Texans for the outhouse to the Penthouse. Jaguars have the power and oh do they know it, this makes the Texans hunger to possess it undoubtedly being the biggest factor in this matchup between two teams that have all the appearances of being equally matched otherwise.

"I don't think the NFC East can match up against AFC South teams when you put things on the line," Taylor said.

I am disconcerted as to the Jaguars fans and players being completely out of touch with what not only ails our team but division as well, Taylors lackadaisical approach to not only what ails our team but clearly our division speaks volumes as to my concern for this game. How delusional do you have to be to assume the state of the AFC South to be any where near the vsacinity at this point to the contending level that NFC East is at the moment?

Texans clearly have no delusions to what is at stake and where they stand in the big picture, this IMO makes the resolve they are bringing to the field of play, much more of a factor to this game than the Jaguars resolve which is obviously disingenuously maligned by a sense of entitlement, inspite of the atrocious redzone deficiency that is choking the life out of this team.

This is a tale of what the two teams are bringing emotionally to the table being the ultimate factor in this game. Jaguars mindset of being phat with assuming it is a contender, and Texans hunger to be contender again, will like many times before, be ultimate factor in this game.

"Going up and beating Indy on the road certainly ought to give you a little confidence," Del Rio said. "That's something you can build on, something our guys can gain some confidence from having that experience. We do have the ability to come back and put together a drive and win a game."

"We need to improve the way we open football games," Del Rio said. "We want to start fast, but no matter how we start we're going to keep playing . . . you can't bail out. If you stay the course then you'll have special moments like yesterday."

When you have JDR calling the performance we saw on Sunday, special, then it is clear that this team is being fed a load of crap, crap that is keeping it from possessing the hunger it is going to need to compete with a team that is clearly hungry. Seeing our pedestrian offense has this fan thinking the only thing special about the performance was its short bus special ultraconservative pedestrian philosophy on offense.

“I did. I really did. I thought the coaches did a great job of calling plays. I felt like when my number was called to make a play, I could make it,” Garrard said.

The official making what was clearly a lame call on Garrards failure to convert on 4th down on the last drive, ultimately led to the Jaguars victory and being more and more delusioned than even I could have imagined. I felt like when my number was called to make a play, I could make it? This from a QB who failed to score a TD twice inside the opponents 10? This is David Garrards definition of a great job calling plays? This is his definition of I did, I really did, when it was clearly the officials that did? 1 fumble, 3 ints and 1 TD and this guy has the nerve to say I did I really did?

Is there any wonder why this fan is so disgruntled...

Just don't tell Texan Bill you like his team. If you know what I mean. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Do not attempt to hijack this thread for your own ghey agenda(s).... My team is the Texans, NOT your team which is "Team Rainbow"....Not that there's anything wrong with that.

As far as this weeks game goes, I think its very winnable. Not because 'we own' the Jaguars or any of that kind of crap (really, we're only 7-5 against them).. I think that the team will come out a little pissed off and more importantly with a full week 'back to work" under their belts...

LMAO @ "Team Rainbow"

Can our team actually get pissed? That'd be a sight for sore eyes.

It'd be nice to hear the commentator say "the Texans just came out of the gate pissed off and put a whoopin on _________."

To win this game there are a few factors that need to happen.

  • Okam will need to be a factor and play like a real NFL player at 6.4" and 345 pounds. He will need to hold up his blocker, read the play and be disruptive.
  • Ryans is going to have to Nut Up and be a factor at the LOS. So far this year teams are getting 3 yards on him before first contact. He will need to meet the RB in the hole and knock'em back 5 yards. He will also need to be able to shed a would be blocker. IMO this is a huge game for Ryans and in a way this game rests on his shoulders. Is he the MLB we all think he is or just average? If the Jags run 200 yards on us he is just average.
  • Amobi is going to need to block someone and keep the blockers off our LB's.
  • We are going to need to have our SS play around the LOS and get physical. This would be a great game to get Barber some action. He cant play any worse that CC.

The Jags are going to come out and run the ball and dink and dunk when they throw.

This is a very winnable game for our team and our defense but Ryans will need to prove that he is the leader. This is his game.

I watched the first quarter of the game again last night (bored) and have to say that Okam was the only DT that had much of a push along the Dline. Zgonina was a joke. Okoye was man-handled most of the time. Kalu lining up as DT is just funny. We will be drafting another Dlineman early next year.

I know there are a few Diles fans around here, including myself, but he's probably the slowest LB we have. We need to look at somebody else there. Bently maybe? And where the hell is Adibi??

According to an article on Chron.com D-Ryans gave the defense a little a little talking to at halftime (can't find the article now).

Well that's one way to reduce traffic on the Loop.:jogger:

I agree, man. It's gut check time for this team. I know that I will go into it expecting to see a competitive effort by all. I won't go as far as to say that I expect a win, but I think that it is not unreasonable to hope for one.

I can't imagine a LB being slower than Greenwood.

Lets hope Okam continues to improve and becomes the Monster I thought he was going to be when we drafted him.

And I second that, where in the Hell is Adibi? His development along with Okam is key to this defense going forward. If these two players develop into solid players so that next year we can go DE/OLB for our first two picks in the draft.

Diles makes Greenwood look like Usain Bolt.

Yeah, I know Adibi's not the biggest guy, but good gravy, we need his speed!

It doesn't matter how your team is performing in general, when it comes to divisional match ups all bets are off.

I'll be rooting for a Texans win.

Well the last time we went on the road to Jax....the game was over by half time. I hear they are having troubles along the o-line....which is the exact same thing we heard about Pittsburgh's o-line. The players names have been changed to protect the innocent tune in next week...sorry wrong show. I wonder if anyone on Kirby is having second thoughts on cutting Maddox by now ?

IMO, being down 10-6 at halftime does not mean the game is over. Or being down 16-9 after the third for that matter. The game got out of hand in the 4th when Schaub fumbled, then threw a pick.

I'd really be happy with a Texans win this weekend. I don't see it happening, but I'd be happy if it happened. 0-4 is where I see this team after next week. I hope I'm wrong, but with the lack of inspiration I see on this team, I wouldn't be surprised. They just don't seem to have the ATTITUDE of a winner. C'mon Texans. Prove me wrong!

Here is a quote from NFL.com's recap
The Jaguars were fortunate to be ahead 10-6 at halftime.

The Texans easily could have been up 17-0 early. They had first-and-goal at the 3-yard line on the opening drive, but had to settle for a short field goal.

They were driving again on the next possession and appeared to score on Schaub's 10-yard pass to Andre' Davis. Replays showed Davis fumbled just before the goal line -- the ball was knocked loose by Sammy Knight -- and the call was overturned. The ball bounced out of bounds for a touchback.

The Jags also had two turnovers, both fumbles by receiver Reggie Williams, that gave Houston good field position. The Texans turned the second one into a field goal and a 6-0 lead.

John Carney missed a 42-yard field goal on Jacksonville's first possession. Williams' fumbles ended the next two drives, but the Jaguars finally got it together late in the second, and they never looked back.

Garrard capped a 76-yard drive with a 1-yard TD pass to George Wrighster. The score was initially nullified by a pass interference penalty, but officials waived off the flag after they decided Greg Estandia had blocked his defender from the start of the play.

Jacksonville got the ball back with an onside kick. It set up Carney's 37-yarder that gave the Jaguars the lead for good, 10-6.

Well, considering our Texans have pretty much stunk up preseason, as well as the past 7 years, you probably made the right choice.

Texans vs Jags!! FIGHT for the bottom!!:)

Look I am impressed with the aggressive play and more mysterious and complex defense of the texans, every year I come in here talking about how this is going to be the year only to find myself scratching my head half way threw the season wondering what the hell happened.

I have been following the Buc's this offseason, they are a young team, and Raheem Morris has them bought in. They have had a phenomenally awesome camp. It looked like the players where loving everyday of it.

Their defense held the phins to 3 3 and outs out of their first 4 drives and the other drive of the first 4 they only allowed 1 first down. They have had a lot of success on defense.

On Offense My man Byron Leftwich managed to possess the ball over 12 minutes of the first half. The ofensive line gave him all day to throw, he was picking apart the Dolphin defense like a thanksgiving Day Turkey, but being anxious and having receivers like K2 running the wrong routes left a bit to be desired, but it is just a matter o time before the offense settles down rises to the occasion.

Derrick ward had over 1,400 yards last season for the titans will be plugging the holes behind cadillac, with earnest Graham keeping the unit fresh this season. Antonio Bryan and Michael Clayton will be starting at WR, but the bucs have a couple players that will be adding solid depth at WR. Cortez Hankton, Maurice Stovall had an awesome night against the Phins.

They have this RB who reminds me of MOJO on the Jags, this guy has 4.3 speed can run and catch the ball, he is from a small school his name is Kareem Huggins, he is going to make a name for himself in this league IMO.

All in all the offensive line and defensive line are stout, the buc's have aq lot of young player's who have taken center stage in the wake of the older players that where holding the team back last season. Rondi Barber is going to have his hands full holding his own with the youth on this team looking to emerge on the scene.

The secondary has a lot of competing young players that are going all out, I am looking forward to watching this unit more than anyother this weekend. This and the Wring corp.

Josh Freeman Buc's first rnd pick this season, is someone I am not too impressed with at all, the guy was a reach and is a raw project at best, Josh Johnson however has looked really good, his issue is the lack of being a deep threat, he is highly mobile, and adept in the pocket at making his reads. Josh is probably the second best QB on the team at the moment. Luke McCown is more than likely going to be traded.

Roy Miller 3rd rnd Pick is a beast of a DT. This guy is the real deal.

Overall I think the buc's are the team to watch this season, as far as sleeper Teams go. IMO they are SB contenders.

not to shoot your optimism down but you are putting a lot of it into the preseason. we have seen our optimism shot down a LOT over here so just a heads up that you may not see the same thing once you get into the regular season.

I have been at this game for years there is a lot of reasons I am optimistic of which the preseason performance of this team is least. Buc's were at one point last season 9-3.

They jetisoned the anchor holding them back as far as I am concerned and are right back in it with a young team that his this that is getting better and better and the staff that has it going in the right direction.

Check this out, this is reason for any fan to get excited especially texan fans with a team as hungry as any in this league.

How many of these fans thought their teams where SB contenders, coming into the season after a mediocre or losing season?

Here are 11 teams, that have been in the SB since the 99 season. One team won with a 4-12 the season prior to making it all the way possessing the Lombardi Trophy. How optimistic where they?

4 teams went to the SB with a losing record the season before they made their appearance as Conferrance Champions.

9 teams without a winning record the season before made it, 3 actually won it.

3 9-7 teams the season before made it and 2 won it, should have been 3 but enough about the Seahawk/Steeler game eh...

Atlanta was 7-9 the season before going to the SB
Titans where 8-8 the season before going to the SB
Rams where 4-12 the season before winning the SB
Ravens where 8-8 year before winning the SB
Giants 7-9 the season before going to the SB
Patriots 8-8 the season before winning the SB
Tampa 9-7 the season before winning the SB with a new HC
Patriots 9-7 the season before winning the SB
Panthers 7-9 the season before going to the SB 1-15 the season before
Seahawks 9-7 season before the ref's gave the Steelers the SB
Giants 8-8 the season before they won the SB with a HC in the hot seat
Arizona 8-8 the season before going to the SB

How many of these fans where thinking breaking even would be a success prior to ther teams making to the play-off's after not only having a dismal season the year before, but having to go into this season with a coach who have never been a HC in this league? With new faces at the HC as well as QB position, the Ravens, Miami and Atlanta made it the play-offs last season.

Look at there standings the season before.
Dolphins where 1-15
Falcons where 4-12
Ravens where 5-11

Step up to the plate and swing, on a scale of 1-10 how optimistic are you about your Texan team after seeing the impact that hunger has had in the past as far as SB contenders go?

Blame it on the ravens wood zin. Trust me I know very well indeed he played for my former HC who had him running in the 2-2-1 series scheme that kept the RB's fresh for the giants awesome rushing attack last season. I have no idea how titans snuck in there like that. :spit:

When you can't stand to even look at your HC or see your teams core imploded while at its prime, then see a scheme that forces the offense to do a burn out from one side of the field to the other while having one foot on the gas and other on the brake it is just infuriating. I had to go...:jogger:

BTW I love your signature. Obama did not qualify for a standard security clearance now he has access to the highest levels seeing what I consider intimate compared to the former relationship we possessed with our former enemies has me confounded to no ends.

it is as if this countries cross hairs have been polarized to the point the people that were looking at the enemy before are now made the enemy by this administration. CIA, vet's, conservatives, Christians... Now it appears this phantom swine flu epidemic along with the healthcare bill is nothing more than a way to circumvent the constitution while flushing our rights down the drain with the help of acorn, the military and americorp who will be the cronies of this administration enforcing the anticonstitutional movement by this new socialist regime looking to make us destitute of our middle class prosperity and rights.
