Who Is Our Competition For The #1 Pick?

Historyhorn

With the way we've started, the way we're being outplayed & outcoached, & the 15 consecutive games without a bye, & the struggles of trying to pull it together mentally/emotionally after the hurricane, can we begin to get an early look at who we'll be competing with for the number one pick?

St. Louis & Kansas City are absolutely putrid & 0-3.

Cincy showed some life at NY, but they are 0-3 and I think their play might be more of a mirage.

Cleveland is a surprising 0-3. Look for Romeo to get fired after this year and Quinn to be starting before Romeo gets fired.

Detroit is brutal and they keep getting destroyed just like us.

Oakland may fire their coach, but they looked good against Buffalo and get to play KC another time.

I guess its too early to call it, but we'd probably be a dark horse to get the number one pick. I'd say St. Louis, KC, & Detroit have the inside track. We're probably sitting right around fourth.

That's probably a good thing considering we'd likely take another D-lineman in the first round as there is no dominant college QB prospect & our drafting of Mario actually could start a trend where teams go that route when no clear cut QB enters the draft.

Go Texans

We're not 0-3 and I doubt we'll be fighting for the 1st pick. I think the hurricane knocked a few wins off, so I'm looking at a 6-10 or 7-9 season unfortunately.

No way in hell are we getting the #1 overall pick in the draft... unless they institute a draft lottery. Even then our chance will be in the lower half.

Sound like a VY homer that still pissed off about the Texans passing on that bust. Go back to your nest in VY's jock strap.

This is a retarded thread. St. Louis, Oakland, Detroit, and Kansas City are all way worse football teams than us.

Something tells me 4-12 and a top five pick.
Not quite ready to concede a 4-12 season, but I do think anywhere from 6-10 to 8-8 is possible.

Football has to be won in the trenches, pure and simple. We need to get better offensive and defensive line play.

Now, how they go about doing that, whether it's coaching or players, I don't know. I personally think it's a combination of the two.

I know a Browns fan who is considering becoming a Steelers fan. He also told me that the Browns can't lose them all without lossing the first 3.

There is no way we are going to get the #1 pick

I still have wildcard hopes honestly ..........

No worse than what Tenn did I think...or hope.
Today against the Dolts .... Link

Total plays 70

Rushes 48

First Downs 25

Rushing 13

Net yards rushing 236

There is one run in particular that you will see on Sports Center of Fred Taylor basicly running over the entire Dolts defense after a cut back ... and a cut block from Garrard ..... I'm very concerned about the Texans ability to stop the run Vs. the Jags even with their decimated O-L.
