ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Re-signing Patrick Hape and Luther Elliss was just the beginning of a hectic afternoon at Dove Valley.

Hours after completing deals with the two veterans, the Broncos re-signed defensive tackle Monsanto Pope and added running back Ron Dayne, formerly of the New York Giants.

Terms were not disclosed.

Well, this should prove once and for all if it is the system or the backs in Denver. If Dayne does well, it's must be the system.

IMO even with Denver's blocking system, I am not so sure if he will put up great numbers. All of Denver's RB's seem to me to be quick and lean, Dayne is 20 pounds heavier than any of the Broncos RB's.

Droughns wasn't exactly the quickest RB the Broncos ever had, and I believe he began the season as their FB. Injuries forced him to start. Either way I think Dayne can do well in Denver, but I don't think he'll get the bulk of the carries. Tatum Bell will probably get more playing time, and Dayne is just there to give him a break now and then or in case Bell goes down with an injury.

From what I remember yeah he played some FB for them, and even on NFL.com's depth chart for Denver they still have him listed as a backup FB for Johnson. Denver Depth Chart I noticed that the Broncos have Cecil Sapp who they also drafted last year. It looks like the Broncos stable of RB is looking pretty good next season with Bell, Sapp, Dayne, and possible Hearst.

I think their OLine contributes alot to the success of their RB, but I wouldn't mind having a Tatum Bell on our depth chart.

Well if our zone blocking comes together real good, which it should this season, maybe our RB's will produce like theirs...I don't care what the numbers are a product of, gotta get er done!

I'm surprised the Browncos didn't just wait for William Green to be released...He'd fit in well with their new team  ...

Wow... they are getting cocky with there recent RB's success... well it wont be easy this year , no more dirty chop blocks or dirty play by that line.
