Texans-Ravens Monday Night OFFICIAL

DiehardChris

You betcha!
Whoa.

Just heard it on the radio - apparently, it's official.

730 PM Monday night.

Um, I'm guessing this means the Texans won't be on TV in Austin. SIGH. GOD I hate the Cowboys.

So, that means that will not be on Natl TV? Why cant they move the Cowboys game so that we get some natl coverage?

It could rain pretty badly on Monday too right? I don't know. What station will the game be on?

I just posted the same on the other thread. :crying:

We won't get the game down here either if that is the case...

(Unless CBS retains the rights to the game)

WooHoo CBS will show the game!

Monday night’s re-scheduled game will be televised on local CBS stations in the primary and secondary markets of the Texans and Ravens. The Cowboys will be hosting the Eagles in Monday night’s regularly scheduled game at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Man, I'm so pissed that this won't be on TV in Austin. Talk about ruining my weekend... better weekend than people who are going to get crushed by the storm, though.

Why would they? How many people would want to see a match up of a team that gotten blow the heck out last week vs a team that went 4-12 and lost to to the lowly lolphins last year? Wouldn't they put us as the late game, with Cowboys being primetime?

I wouldn't mind having the game slotted like the one the past monday, and I rather us have the latter of the time. That way we'll all be home and comfy by the time the game start, granted we'll have to stay up later then usual(for the game and post-game ranting/blissing).

On the game: No offense Ravens fans, but I hope we come out and dominate the hell out of you guys. I want everyone to see us and fear us when they look at their schedule and see us on "week X". I want respect damnit. Sorry Baltimore, but you're going the sacrificial lamb of the week.

Oh well looks like I wont get to see the game. I can't get to the Sports bar on Monday evening and they won't show it in Denver. Hopefully there will be a link to on the site.

Yeah, the secondary markets that want to carry the game. Remember, we're talking about friggin KEYE here. I'm sure they think whatever their normal Monday night programming will rate better than a Texans game going against a Dallas game.

When I'm watching the game Monday night, I'll believe it.

Grrr, there goes a keg, a new generator, and beer can chicken. Tailgate ruined, check

My bad, I posted it when the title of the thread was still 'Texans-ravens game date not official'

Will it be playing at the sports bars? I guess through Sunday ticket? Even if it is playing I will have a hard time trying to convince a bar to put it on even one tv with the Cowboys game going on. Not too many Houston fans around these parts.

The e-mail from the Texans says the game will also be shown on ESPN2

HOUSTON TEXANS GAME UPDATE

I'm sorry for those that won't make this game because of travel. But MAN...getting our first MNF game already!! Woo hoo!!!

you might have other stuff to worry about on Sunday/Monday in Austin. Have you checked the models?? Some say that Ike is supposed to turn north after landfall and roll just east of Austin.

...hurricanes tend to spawn tornadoes once they become landside weather systems

With apologies to Spaceballs, it looks like we've gone from suck to blow. As Hurricane Ike spins toward the Houston area, the NFL announced this afternoon that Sunday's Week 2 match-up with the Ravens will now kickoff at 7:30pm CT.

Bwahahaha. Keith muy hilariouso.

But, more importantly...

Several other alternatives were rumored for the rescheduling, some of which might still be in play should the 27-hour delay prove not to be enough time. Talk of playing the game at a neutral site, specifically Atlanta, were apparently considered, as well as the possibility of postponing the game entirely until Week 10. In such a scenario, the Texans would move up their game against the Bengals to their bye week on October 26, then leaving room to host the Ravens on November 9, currently the bye week scheduled for the Ravens.

It might not be set in stones yet.

Tornadoes are a concern for much of Austin in this circumstance, but not to the west and the Northwest Hills area. Wind and flooding of our creeks is the issue. We do need the rain though.

Eh, I've lived in Texas all but three years of my life. That's just bidness as usual.

whenever a Dolphins game was moved up or moved back due to a hurricane (prbly 3 times recently), it was only shown in Miami and the other team's market, no matter if you had DirecTV or what

Yep - Per a pre-recorded call from the Texans (on my cell no less)...

Gates open @2:30p on Monday for Platinum, 3:30p for the other lots.

(Is it scary that when I saw 832-667-2002 I KNEW who was calling immediately?)

I got a call on my home phone. Hung up the phone and then my cell phone rang and it was the Texans again. Nice touch.

No worries! What ever happens, happens. The good thing is that the game is on at 8:30 (sorry, I don't do Central Time) and we don't get a bye week after one game. Now THAT would suck!

Now....I don't think that's going to happen, but if it does, you said it first!

Yes! I'm glad Bryan is considered a secondary market! Sorry for those of you who will miss it...
