Season Opener on NFL.com - Live Stream

Crap, you did have to post this and it's the Giants. I guess I am going to pull a late nighter tonight. Actually I thought the kick off time was later however it's at 6PM Texas time which makes it 1AM my time which isn't that bad. I was thinking it was going to be a 2 or 3AM kick off for me.

Best case scenario for me is the Giants are running away with it at half time and I can cut out early hoping they don't pull a Houston Oilers.

Crap, it's only available to US viewers. They want the Europeans to pay. Oh well, I have other means. I just thought it would be super easy tonight.

So they are doing the celebration and giving the rings. The camera pans to the crowd and who is in the first row wearing a Giants jersey? That loud-mouth Mercury Morris. How pathetic of a life do you have to live if you wrap your entire exsistance on something that happened 35 years ago?

If you can only catch one highlight, catch the one of Brandon Jacobs running over LaRon Landry. Very Christian Okoyeish - pre Atwater of course.

Will do, I missed that. Actually I am only getting choppy reception so I don't think I am going to hang for this one. Why in the world we decided to come over here during the first month of the NFL season is beyond me.

If Slaton is suppose to be Portis-lite, then I hope he can deliver a chip block half as good as Portis can.

That has to be one of the worst game I've ever seen from a QB. I'm dropping JC as soon as possible from my FFL. What a freakin bum.

Brandon Jacobs looks like RoboCop out their..........6'4" at 264 lbs
and churning through a wall of defenders. I wouldn't mind having him a short yardage bull. It's nice to have an RB that can be his own blocker.:wild:

Jacobs was a 4th or 5th rd. pick.

Good RB's can be found later in the draft .

Ward & Bradshaw were 7th rd. picks.

Short yardage?

What about all yardage.

Jacobs was a beast tonight.

Jacobs looked like a back that we have not seen in years. His play tonight took me back to the late 70's.

Portis looked better than I have seen him in some time.

i would still take landry over amobi*, and outside of that play, i think landry covered the field well and played exceptional.

Absolutely.............I was just trying to refer specifically to a consistently "reliable" short yardage and goal line RB.........which, in my opinion, we haven't seen yet in the history of our franchise.

Apart from Jacobs and Burress, I was really dissapointed in the Giants. I'm no fan, and do not believe they're THAT much of a team, but against a Redskins defence with opening night jitters, they wern't much to write home about.

IMO the Redskins beat themselves through horrible playcalling on both sides of the ball, and the only bright spot the entire evening were Jason Taylor post 1st quarter.

I sincerely hope that the Steelers look as bad as the Giants did last night, because then we have a real nice chance of winning that one :)

Anywho, enough negativity... FOOTBALL IS BACK!! :)

Can you imagine Green plowing through the line like that? lol

I thought Brandon Jacobs looked exactly like Eddie George in his prime last night. The Giants are going to be one tough team to beat if they can stay healthy. I think the Redskins are in trouble...big trouble. It's only one game but Zorn looks in over his head.

I agree. Jacobs is a freakin beast! Jacobs and Barber are old school pounders, but with speed.

I also agree on Zorn. What the heck was he doing with over 4 minutes left on the clock?? No two minute drill? The guy's two scores behind, yet he's having the offense huddle (while taking their damn time)? Then he decides to run the football?

By no means am I saying they should've won, but damn dude? At least make an attempt with a sense of urgency.

I kept thinking "I wish the Texans had a back like that". That guy had a huge game and he is a beast. I know he's a hard guy to tackle, even going after his legs because he is so much bigger than the average DB. I know hindsight is 20/20 but there are 2 backs the Texans could have drafted besides Vernand Morency, Jacobs and Marion Barber III who are having better careers thus far.

Jason Campbell didn't disappoint me, he looked terrible.:twocents:

Actually, I saw more of an Eric Dickerson (a Sealy product and SMU grad)......although he gave up 15 pounds to George and 45 pounds to Jacobs. Here's a video of Dickerson (note especially around the 1 minute mark for resemblance). You don't see FEARED backs like him or George or Earl any more.............at least until now.

tuck played very well too..

i agree zorn looked out of his depth but the giants will be good even though eli made some really bad throws. running game and aggressive (good) defence will carry you a long way
