Is it possible to be too much of a Texan's fan?

I'm not sure what it is, but I feel there's something different about me. I think it's a renewed sense of pride & determination. Or, perhaps it's just a bull-headed way of letting the world know I'm a Texan fan. Anyone else feel something like this?

It's possible to be TOO much of a fan. A former friend of mine (Rabid Cowgirl fan) ended a 15 year friendship with me last year because I said that Emmit Smith made millions playing football and should be kinder to his fans when they ask for an autograph.
He DEMANDED a written appology and we haven't spoken since.

I ask myself that question on a daily basis. Sometimes I wonder about my sanity simply because think about my life as a TEXAN fan, and my loyalty to my football team, several times a day. I go shopping, I look for TEXAN stuff. I sit down to watch TV and I tune in to the NFL channel just to see if they will mention the Texans. I read the ragsheet everyday just to see if our incompetent sports writers will give me just a LITTLE info on my team. I search the web, chat TEXAN talk at work until my staff wants to kill me, and can't wait to get home so I can tune in to TT and visit with my Texan friends. YES, I am addicted to the TEXANS!! BUT, in my own defense, I do have a life outside football. It's called GRANDKIDS, and they come first!!!

Gee, do ya' think you can be too much of a fan?

Do you tune into this MB one or more times a day even in the off season?
Is your house filled with Texan "stuff" prominently displayed?
When NFL Network talks about a play from last year, do you remember the exact play?
Do you have more autographs than children and grandchildren combined?
Do get excited in July because the season tickets are coming?
Do you count the days until the first game of the season?
Do you have things such as mini-camp marked on your calendar?
When someone says, "camping," do you think "tail gating?"
Can you answer yes to these questions and still add a few more?

Too much of a fan? Not Possible!:homer:

Geez, that is crazy. I love the Texans (as well the other Houston sports teams) but I would never end a friendship over a sports team.

I do some people may qualify as being too much of a fan. If you do what that lady did from the northeast when she ran over a Yankees fan (or maybe it was a Red Sox fan) because they insulted her team, then you can be too big of a fan.

So as long as you don't kill a Titans, Cowboys, Jags, or Colts fan because they make fun of the Texans then you should be alright.

As long as you don't hurt or kill anyone then you can never be too much of a fan.

I'm sorry, but I can't see myself physically injuring someone because they bad mouthed a team I follow. Hell unless I'm acutally suiting up and going out on the feild I'm not taking it that seriously.

Do you watch Tivo'd Texans Games from last year or any previous years just to get your fix?
Do you have more Texans Jerseys/Shirts than shirts for your job?
Do you hang your Season Ticket Texans Texas flag outside instead of an American Flag?
Do you throw up a little bit when you see Casserly on NFLN?
Do you worry about missing a Texans game (Home/Away) because of something really important like your own wedding?
Anymore....???:fans:

First, I would NEVER have a wedding during football season (that includes pre-season through basically the Pro-Bowl).

Second, the girl I'll marry would be MORE pissed than me - at the possibility of having to miss a game.

*sigh..... remains single*

Seeing all the ladies who post on here who love fotball, I seem to ask myself, where can I find one of them. Of course I doubt I will find her in Austin, just not a huge UT guy. not saying being a UT fan is a bad thing just do not talk down or through me because i am not.

You guys are some lucky bastages. :thisbig:

you guys just don't have your women trained is all. I had to get a wooden spoon out and beat the bottoms of my ladies feet to get her acting right. Now I have no problems and she's more of a rabid fan than I am. I'm so proud.

P. S. if the wooden spoon doesn't work the can of green beans in a sock always works.

STOP IT!!!!

You are confusing Dante!!

Do you try to recruit anyone that will listen into being a Texans fan, citing specific examples such as offseason acquisitions, the best tailgating in the USA...strike that, WORLD, and a classy owner/organization?

Do you re-watch the previously mentioned TIVO games again?

After attending a home game, do you come home and watch the same game to see the split second you possibly missed?

Are you willing to drive 3 hours one way on game day to go see your team play?

Do you record every episode of NFL Live and Total Access so you can sift through it later searching for little tidbits of info on the Texans?

When KEYE pulls the Texans games are you willing to band together and blast their sorry butts with emails, start anti-CBS websites, etc.

Are you willing to agree to drive your same old 10 year old truck for another 3 years if you get your wife to agree to buying PSL's/Season tix?

Are you willing to take 1 1/2 days off of work, pull your kid out of the last day of 4th grade and travel from RR to make it to All Access since it is on a weeknight?
