I think the NFLN reported that Walker got a $55 million contract over 6 years with $16 million in guaranteed money.

I didn't see any sarcasm quotes. *vomits*
not at all. gaffney always had great hands (probably the best on the team when he was around) and solid route-running. he's not too fast, but he was almost always clutch (sans that goal-line gaffe).

He is not worth that what so ever. The Raiders keep giving out these contracts and screwing up the entire salary chart.

The Walker deal is nuts. The Raiders have a lot of money invested in three players
Since last Thursday, the Raiders have doled out more than $144 million in contracts to defensive tackle Tommy Kelly ($50.1 million), safety Gibril Wilson ($39 million), and Walker ($55 million).

3 out of 4, that's not too bad.
I still don't see how Walters was better than Gaffney, but looks like Kubiack thought he knew something about NFL personnel that Belichick didn't ?

Walker got more guaranteed money then Randy Moss?

Note to all NFL players, fire your agents and hire Javon Walker's.

Oakland Raiders have signed former Broncos wide receiver Javon Walker to a six year $55 million deal. I think Al Davis has gone mad...

Gaffney is a solid reserve...I thought he did an excellent job when Andre went down. If you weren't first or last in the Carr progression you never saw the ball.

Paying Walker more then Randy Moss is just about one of the stupidest moves in recent NFL history.
Walker is better than Joey Porter (Jags signed this turd)...I think the Raiders upgraded. Walker got 16 mil in guaranteed money....doesn't seem that high for a legit WR1

Indeed. David Carr literally stunted the growth of damned near every single player and coach he came in contact with. We've all heard of a player making everyone around him better. David was like the opposite of that. Everybody got better when he left.

I used to think "McKinney stinks as a center" and I think he did stink but it seemed like as soon as Carr went away McKinney became an average center in like one training camp. I used to think that Todd Washington was a better center than McKinney because it seemed to me that when Washington played the running game worked better and the center of the line held longer. Now I know that it was just a temporary effect caused by Washington not spending too much time in contact with Carr. If he had played with him all the time then the Carr Effect would have sapped his ability like it did everyone elses.

If the Carr Effect had a detrimental effect on the Texans players that he came in contact with, then one can surmise that it had an inverse effect on players from opposing teams.

The Carr Effect made Texans players look like duds and opposing teams players look like studs.
