We might have had better hitters on this team in the past, but I sure as hell don't remember any.
 
Will Demps has brought a style of football to Houston that I have not seen here. He lays the wood, has fun doing it and it has become contagious. You kind of get the sense that an identity is being formed as in the past having fun and playing football in Houston have not been synonymous.

Although I totally agree with Demps laying the wood, I'd also say Bennett ain't skeered either. That dude knocks himself silly hitting somebody, only to come back and hit somebody harder. I'm beginning to like his football. :d:

If only we'd quit playing the soft coverage crap.
 
I like Demps.

Wish they would send him and/or Bennett on blitz or something.
 
After I saw Demps' website I imagine that they bring him "Fiji" water in the bottle after he comes off the field. Normal Tap Water would contaminate his pure/precious body.

I've noticed that the past few games. Fred and Will seem to take great joy in lighting folks up. It's fun to watch, especially Fred. He seems like he is trying to absolutely kill folks.

I guess what I just mentioned, plus Demeco and Mario, is what I find most aggravating about our D. I feel like the talent is there but they're not being put in positions to make a big difference. Time for a new D coordinator. (wow, what an original thought)

Yeah. I'll bet I'm the only non-cougar in Texas to have a man-crush on this guy. :heart:

Unlike other metrosexuals that have been on the Texans roster, Demps has a genuine mean streak. He could be a cross-dresser for all I care as long as he keeps lighting people up.

Props to Bennett as well. He's way ahead of schedule. I'm not so worried about the secondary anymore.
 
Demps/Bennett kind of remind me of McDowell/Orlando they way they hit. I made a comment in a game day thread a couple games ago about how well I thought Demps wrapped up his players and didn't just go for a shoulder bump. It's something that you see less and less from DBs now, I guess they are all going for the highligh reel knockout blow and less about stopping the guy in his tracks. They still lower the shoulder, but I see more form tackles from them than I have seen in the past. I'd be happy to see them both back next year if they keep up the good performances they have had so far.


Edited to head off the flamers, yes Bennett is a CB and Orlando was a S, and yes, Bubba and Bo also went for the knockout...but rarely did the opponent ever keep moving forward afterwards...unlike todays DBs

The way he's been playing I'm totally overlooking his website. I don't care if he walks around in a zebra g-string on his time; while in uniform I'll root for him.

Will Demps has really shown up in the second half of the season. He has made alot of plays for us. Atleast we have a servicable FS now.
