Falcons | Leftwich agrees to terms
Tue, 18 Sep 2007 13:00:16 -0700

Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports the Atlanta Falcons have agreed to terms with unrestricted free-agent QB Byron Leftwich (Jaguars) on a two-year deal that could be worth up to $7 million, according to sources. Leftwich will likely be given the opportunity to compete for the starting job.
I just hope they don't expect Leftwich to solve thier sack issues. :shades:

Falcons | Team lobbying for a new ball
Tue, 18 Sep 2007 11:35:10 -0700

The Atlanta Falcons are lobbying to have the ball switched to a bottle of Xenedrin when the Falcons offense takes the field. Unrestricted free-agent QB Byron Leftwich (Jaguars) will not be in the know on this matter until the first snap of Sundays game where he is expected to see the weight loss suplement and immediately throw it hard toward the end zone, according to a source. If the NFL does not approve of the change in game ball then they are expected to make an attempt at moving Leftwich to defensive tackle, arming the linebackers with Snicker's bars to hurl at the opposing quarterback.

He's not that bad.

I'm not a big fan but I respect him. I remember the game he played in college where his lineman were carrying him to the line of scrimmage because he was hurt.

I'm happy he has overcome his struggles since his days on Different Strokes. Here is a good picture when Arnold got to meet Billy Zabka....ahhhh...Chad Pennington

Working?
How soon would we expect to see him out there? I mean, he missed all of TC/preseason

I would much rather face Joey than Byron, personally

There might be a nice familiarity factor if Manwich started. The Texans D certainly hasn't been scared of him in the past. But I doubt he's starting by then, if at all.

I know. My pic above was the only good one I could find of Heftwich making a goofy face and I loved it with Pennington.

Leftwich was cut after week 3 of the preseason. Which for all intents and purposes mean he played ALL of the preseason. I bet he starts this weekend.

Maybe he'll see some time this weekend but i really doubt it. With just getting the playbook...and assuming he doesn't think it's a sandwhich he'll have to digest it one way or another before he sees the field.

...wow those two second rounders spent keep looking better and better.

Would it really hurt anyone if the Falcons decided to get him ready to play against us in a week and a half. I know I wouldn't mind.

If you want a bad flashback to last year, visit the Atlanta Falcon MB and read this thread.

The title is "IT IS ALL ON THE O-LINE!!!!!! Read this!!!!, Before blaming Harrington........"
Deja vu anyone?

There are lots of fun threads on Leftwich also including this one

He's probably not going to play against us, he'll miss that week on purpose.

Doesn't matter, that will be a stat pad game for our linemen.

I wouldn't mind it at all. The referee's might have to switch out footballs more often due to being scraped across the ground on his windups.

Other than that, he's less mobile than Joey. Which means he'd be a sitting duck.:)

From ESPiN.com, we learn that Byron has selected a jersey number:

"We all know 7 is Mike's number," Leftwich said Wednesday, standing at his locker after going through his first practice with the Falcons. "I figured I would just pick a number. Well, 17 didn't look good on me. I'm trying to look as slim as possible. So I just figured I would pick 4."

Photoshop types...be nice, if you can.
