WE ACTUALLY THREW THE BALL DOWNFIELD RATHER THAN DUMP IT OFF 6 TIMES!! Much props to our QB Schaub for having the stones to get the ball to our playmakers. Even when he made the mistake in the endzone, he came out and threw it downfield again for a TD. I love a QB who has enough confidence in himself to go out and continue to stick with the game plan. Much props to Schaubby today. Hopefully we all can see that our offensive leader is going to give us every opportunity to win the game.

That drive actually consumed 10 minutes and 26 seconds. It was freaking awesome!
I was stunned and I know the Chiefs were. They knew we were going to pound Dayne right at em' and they still couldn't stop us!

not only can he keep that up but I thought that he had first game jitters and looked like he is just getting a feel for the offense and can clean his game up a bit. I didn't think he played to all his potential yesterday...The sky is the limit.

He made some mistakes yesterday and still had a good overall performance.
When he gets going, he's going to be great.

Yea, I see more crossing routes and quick slants to JJ in the near future. Unless it was when I was releasing the beer back into the keg at 3rd Base, I don't recall seeing a single screen pass either...which I thought we would see more of. Maybe Kubs saw the light and was holding some things back for Carolina.
Salaam pretty much admitted last night that an early INT would have given this team a collective "not this again" feeling in the past.

That's exactly what I said to my friend Barry when Schaub threw that interception in the end zone. It was right and front of us and the first thing that came out of my mouth was "Chill out, this is his first real game as our starter and he's probably pushing a little too hard to make something good happen. He'll settle down and get better".
And he friggin DID. There's more to come I think. Schaub is for real.

He caught it right in front of us. It was a thing of beauty to behold. I kept pinching myself to make sure I hadn't fallen asleep and some how become a Colts fan. The Texans got a 77 yard TD pass!!!!

I noticed that not only were passes being thrown down the field...they were being to recievers who were running between the hash marks. I could have sworn there was a rule against receivers running between the hash marks.
I noticed we threw the ball after our QB was sacked.
That almost never happened before, and was a reason we couldn't get anything going on offense, for the most part.
If David was sacked, the next play was 9 to nothing going to be a run up the middle.

They say you can't win a football game if you don't win the battle upfront, in the trenches. Well, the Texans managed to do that 26 times ... before yesterday. But if you don't win the battle on OL and DL, you'll never win more than you lose.
Yesterday was different. That 10 minute drive in the 4th quarter, they knew we were going to run the football, and we still ran it successfully, even though they knew.
That was because our OL won the battle against their DL. Never saw that before. Never.
All the kudos and love being thrown at Schaub, Mario and the DL, AJ, etc. yet no credit is extended to the OL and how they played.
And that is a crying shame.

I think you were the one that said it in another thread(if not forgive me), but the initial play calling seemed a little strange. I think some of that strange playcalling seemed to prolong his jitters more than they might have. I agree with your assessment that he didn't seem to play up to his full potential. I think the first quarter was very indicative of that. I think after he took that first big hit, held onto the ball, and popped back up he seemed to be shake out the jitters and started to get a better feel for the game. Even after he threw the INT he was not scared to try it again and again. I remember when someone else was a QB here, he would throw down field once, throw an INT or misfire and then not throw down field again. I was very happy with what I saw and look forward to see if he can really reach his potential. It should be fun to see.
I noticed our newly traded for inexperienced QB is closer to the Hasselbeck/Favre model than the Rob Johnson model.....

Thing I noticed the most compared to previous years is when Carr dropped back, you got that gut feeling he was going down or fumbling,,,the gut feeling I got when Schaub dropped back was,,,,"OK,,,how many yards is he gonna pass for this time",,,totally diffrent feel when this #8 drops back,,,
