I was really hoping Tupola would be given a chance. As far as Cook maybe this will bold well for Abbate.

I want to know exactly why Tupola, Darius Walker, Enoka Lucas, and the punter Wilburn were released.

Does Tupola not move well enough to be a T and we're happy with our depth at G?

Lucas was, what?, the 5th or 6th rated C coming out of college this year. Are we so happy with Flanagan, McKinney, and White that we don't need to see any more from Lucas?

Kubiak was thrilled land Walker as a UDFA. Was it a numbers game? Green, Dayne, Taylor, Lundy, and Gado meant Walker didn't have a chance? We had all those guys when we signed him. What happened in/since OTAs that caused us to become disenchanted with him? Would that reason preclude bringing him back with Lundy's back hurt and Taylor out for the season?

I heard and read that Wilburn was booming every punt in practice/OTAs and was clearly outperforming Stanley. Why is Wilburn the one cut, then?

And while I'm at it, how on earth is Hodgdon still on our roster?

Well, obviously they thought they didn't have space for them in the list of 80. They probably have a certain number of bodies that they can have at each spot.

They probably dropped Tupola because they knew that they were going to sign Barry, who has more experience and has worked with Sherman before. Same thing with White for Lucas and I think they needed to open up a roster spot for McCardell. Hodgdon is being given a chance to make the squad as a guard.

We dropped Walker because we had a glut of running backs. With Taylor down, we'll probably pick him back up.

Wilburn... they probably knew they were going to get Turk.

They only carried nine o-lineman last year; even if they carry the more "league normal" ten this year they will have to cut a few players. They might just want to cut the ones they don't think have a chance as soon as they determine that to allow them to focus more on the ones that do have a chance.

Kubiak was thrilled land Walker as a UDFA.

This cut may contain a lesson about the spin, hype, and up-side that accompany new players to this team. Especially long shots that other teams have passed on too.

I have a feeling with the injury to Taylor, Walker might be resigned.

Can I start my rant about his pass catching ability and his ability to pick of the blitz again? If not I understand .......

I looked like a dumbass once I am not afraid to do it again.

I just want to point out to all those who criticized me for saying Spencer wouldn't be back, that he won't be back. He is PuP. Now it's looking like the FO missed more than just the secondary in the draft. We missed OT for the 5 year in a row! Yay! Salaam should not make you feel comfortable about our line, regardless if he was average last year or not. This should worry you fans, and show you that listening to YTF early in the process will help you and the team out.

That's all, carry on.

Please note all the OTs in 2008 .

Please note that I'm not big on any of those OT's yet, and please note all the *'s. All of those guys won't be entering. No senior OT makes me giddy about drafting them.

Please note...We thank you for your uncanny ability to predict the future. May we forever be in your debt.

Please note...Contrary to your belief the sky is not falling yet in regards to the o line. It will look much better than last year even with Salaam. BTW...I don't think Salaam is as horrible as you would like to think. He is aging but servicable.

Congratulations. You really do deserve a pat on the back.

BTW...Who should have the Texans drafted @ OT with the 10th pick overall and please don't come back with the we should have traded down line. No other team was buying.

All of you know I wa in favor of the trade down, but it didn't open itself up for us, and I was cool with that. I would have actually gone with Revis over Okoye, but I trust Smith. There wasn't an OT I was too Giddy about at 10. I didn't like Staley period. Honestly, and I said this before the Mario draft that Winston should be able to compete for our LT position withing a season when his knee fully heals up. I still believe he is our best LT on the roster. I haven't studied the next draft class much in depth yet, so I am unable to give a fair assessment of some of these guys. I may end up supporting one of them like I did Gaither for the past 2 years. Who knows. It is early, but Salaam is not the answer, and I have never once thought Spencer was our answer at LT. Spencer = RG to me.

Salaam is not the long term answer , he there until we go to plan B .

I think the draft of 2005 is when the Texans missed their opportunity for an OT. Instead of drafting Jamal Brown or Alex Barron the Texans drafted Travis Johnson which caught most of us by suprise. Derrick Johnson had fallen in our lap that year but in all of Casserly's wisdom he decided we needed TJ over Marcus Spears and the rest of the guys mentioned. I don't think TJ was on anybody's radar at that point. Casserly sure was a horrible gm. Combine him with Capers and that is why we are still looking for our 1st winning season. Oh and throw in an owner that was loyal to his qb to the point of resigning him with a big bonus and then cutting him 1 year later admitting he made a mistake. The new regime seems to be doing a lot better but they still make a few decisions that make you scratch your head. With Kubiak there is a least competion for every position.

You make a good point ... a pro bowl OT or TJ ... hmmmm .... give me a minute .

We need to keep in mind that there were too many holes to fill in the 2006 draft and still too many to fill in this year's draft. We will need one for certain, and probably two more drafts/offseasons to address every position. Be patient. We are progressing.
