Bosseli was signed without a negative peep (that I know of from the physicians) with a known injury and never played a down. DDW had a bone on bone and was given a new contract again without anyone in the media questioning the docs saying "Hold on there just a minute.." Mathis has hamstrings issues and from what I've read on other threads these are not something you can take a pill for and just stretch it out. What is going on with the Texans medical team? We have a few guys coming back from injuries and I hope they are being given good advice.

Not quite that clear on Boselli. Both Boselli and Willie Roaf were tendered by their teams for the supplemental draft. The NFL had doctors examine them and said Roaf could not be part of the draft but Boselli could. Roaf got traded to KC and didn't miss a game or a pro-bowl for the next three years. In addition, the "injured" shoulder is not what ended Boselli's career. Don't remember which one was which, but Boselli injured one shoulder while with the Jags. The Jags Doc fixed that one and said he could clean up the other one at the same time. The clean up shoulder which was supposed to be routine is the one that kept him from playing again. If you ever take apart a deer or other animal, you'll see shoulders are funky soft tissue, not well held together things. I can't blame the Texans Docs or staff for that one. DD on the other hand...

And let's not forget the Boselli deal was a Cassery parlor trick to get Seth Payne and Gary Walker.

Thanks but not quite the way I remembered it. I thought Boselli approached the Jags doctor who was on the field prior to a game and was yelling at him after he came to Houston in the expansion draft for botching the first operation.. I also thought the Chronicle stated Jags insisted that Boselli had to be taken for the two defensive players to left available and not pulled back. Jags were trying to clear cap space. If Texans doctor said, "Ok. Take him if you have to to get the other two but I am not saying I'll ever clear him to play." I am satisfied. Sometimes you pay in unusual manner to get other good players. Boselli had shoulder surgery prior to signing with Texans. He then had two more surgeries after signing with Htown. If his career was not ended by shoulder problems, why was it ended? While typing this I found a link from 2003 that gave me some new info. Long but enjoyable and worth the read.

And that is different than what I said how? In the surgery to repair Boselli's shoulder that was keeping him out of games, the Jags Doc also operated on the other shoulder. Don't know about the yelling, but why would that keep him from yelling at the Doc--there was some thought Boselli might sue the guy for med mal, but he decided not to.

Like you say, the Jags were desperately trying to clear cap space. That doesn't mean everyone involved knew Boselli was done. Was the NFL in on the conspiracy as well and just didn't want us to get Roaf?

Who said it wasn't ended by shoulder problems? What I said was it was ended due to shoulder problems with the shoulder that wasn't keeping him out of games the year before and was supposed to have had a routine cleaning up surgery.

In your first response you said it wasn't the injured shoulder that ended his career. I remembered that it was. The issue and point of my thread was Texans doctors reviewed the results of the first shoulder surgery done by the Jags surgeon (the one Boselli confronted) and then did the two additional surgeries. I did not mention conspiracy. I was under the impression that the NFL doctors ok'd TB being on the expansion draft but left it up to Texans doctor to accept or reject. I also thought Boselli rejected the law suit because of his Christian belief. You seem a little more on edge and ready to go on attack today, Cak? I hope you are feeling ok?
