Since it's getting closer, I just wondered if anyone thought about who may be June 1st casualties this year. Just curious. (and bored!)

Usually by this time there are players being identified that might be cut. I have not seen many if any so far. Any ideas on whom Texans will cut?

Maybe TJ, because he went from starter to third string, but they probably wount. I don't think they'll cut anyone.

I think T.J. and possibly a RB. Maybe Gado or Lundy. I would like to see Lundy stay and see if what he did last preseason can translate into something positive this season. Who knows though...it all depends on how deep the staff feels we are at certain positions.

Well, on June 1st we get to finally get rid of Carr and William's cap hits for this year. I'm not sure if Wong's salary has come off already or not. Overall, I think we take all of these guys currently on the roster to mini-camp at least.

I have no idea what the Texans are going to do...

I'd like to see them keep TJ...I think if he can stay healthy he can be a very good DT...I'd give him atleast one more year....

I'd like to see them cut Greenwood...I wasn't impressed with him in Miami, and I've yet to see anything impressive from him since he's been in Houston...

I'd like to see Hogdon, and Stanley cut as well....

I would like to see all the players named above to go through one more training camp under kube's leadership. Didn't TJ look much improved last few games in 06 or am I remembering wrong?

I could be wrong but I thought he got in a game or three for some plays and know he was injured but not sure if that was before or after the games I am refering to. I was pretty disgusted by then. Maybe someone else can offer insight? If he was hurt after improved playperhaps he will come out better in 2007. I just hate to lose a first round pick with little to show for it, but that has been discussed ad nauseum on other threads. TJ just seems to have the size to play DT and it will be his third year.

Actually, I thought Greenwood stepped up a bit last year, especially as the year wore on. Not saying he was great, but he was better, and this D suits him better than a 3/4. According to today's chronic, Danny Clark will be backing up at the Will, so at least we should have a competent backup.

I need to rewatch some of the Texans games from last year, because Greenwood left a terrible taste in my mouth...Maybe I'm being too harsh on the guy, but all I recall is a guy who had 0 impact on the games, and made maybe one or two (I'm being generous) key plays all year...

I think for a WLB, he was waaaaay too invisible...But I dunno...

TJ played in the 1st 9 games last season starting all but Dallas. Early in the season Kubiak said some complimentary things about him. He had 6 tackles in the 1st 3 games and then 2 total in the remainder.

I agree with you on Morlon but Kubes has said more than once he is ok with Greenwood's play. If we don't have a good LB corps, it will not be because we did not have bodies to throw on the field.

IMO you are being overly harsh. One of the knocks on Greenwood coming out of Miami was not having a nose for the ball and creating turnovers. Last year he had an INT, 2 forced fumbles and 3 fumble recoveries.

Thanks. Did I at least remember the injury correctly?

Greenwood had a decent season last year. He still doesn't play up to his cap hit, IMO, but that's an entirely different argument. He's absolutely our best linebacker not named Ryans. (hey look! I can limbo the St. Louis arch!)

I think Greenwood is the strongest LB we have besides Ryans, we cant afford to lose him, not even if we save cap. He played with alot more fire last year than previously. anderson and orr are the 2 to watch, with the leadership from the vets clark and barber, hopefully 1 of them will come out solid.

If the dline and LB jell, we then only have to worry about cornerback. No wait, that is Petey! P man, I'm rooting for you. WHoohoo.
