Should we trade our first rounder?

The Rock Hill Herald reports while many believe the clock's ticking on DT Kris Jenkins' time with the Carolina Panthers, the team's keeping up a stiff upper lip in the face of all the recent trade speculation. The team has offered him in trade, but hasn't been overwhelmed by an offer yet. Thus, they've indicated to others they're willing to hang on to him if no one meets their price. However, they haven't talked to Jenkins about what's going on, and he's left town to go to his Maryland home until the situation is resolved. Panthers GM Marty Hurney has refused to comment on the possibility of a trade, but when he was asked last week if he or HC John Fox had spoken to Jenkins, Hurney replied: "We'll see him when he comes back for minicamp." That's the company stance, but few outside their building believe the three-time Pro Bowler will still be here a week from now.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the Rams will try to trade for Carolina Panthers DT Kris Jenkins, a three-time Pro Bowler once regarded as one of the league's top run stuffers. But they will not give up a first-round pick for Jenkins.

No. I would consider swapping positions in the 1st round (#10 - #14 = 3rd round pick value). But our 1st round pick outright? No.

The Panthers price will go down the closer the draft gets. They need to dump Jenkins salary so they can rework Steve Smith's and Julius pepper's contracts. Smart teams will wait them out.

Our first may be (?) too high, but I guess, it works both ways.
There has been quite a few interests in him among the Rams, Broncos, Chiefs, Giants. Could very well be that the Panthers are in no hurry to move him. There's news from the pre-draft conference that they might just keep him. It sounds more like they are shopping for the best deal.

I think his remaining 3 years doesnt cost too much, no signing bonus.
And it seems like his contract is full of incentive, probably to guard against the risks.

Looks like the Rams is willing to give up their #2.
Maybe the price can be a swap in the 1st and one of our 2nd day pick?

We should have traded one ex QB for him ... dangit foiled again
 
BTW, back to topic.

When I look at game film (not to much, just the nfl highights), he didnt look overweight or slow. And that Saints game, the Aints were limited to 63 yards on 23 carries, with Bush 11-22. I like that very much, thank you.
Jenkins was triple-team and still fighting really well on at least that one play.

I have not watched past the Saints game, so don't know if he performed well for the whoe season or not, to see how durable he is, whether he's back 100% or not.
