First let's squash this AP still getting to us at 10 thing......if he falls to Atlanta, they take him...period. They may be assuming he would be gone, and trading up to try and get Landry, but if he falls they take him. We have no second rounder, and I doubt Hughes is available by the 7th pick of round 3, but hopefully we take him. :this:

Merriweather is no longer a possibility since we pissed away our 2nd round pick. So I see us taking Reggie Nelson in the first. If that's what we're looking at, we should trade Carr for a WR or OL if we can't get a third for him.

I know Capers is pushing for him, and Booker is possible trade bait. (I'd rather have a 3rd pick though). There is still a chance to get something for Carr, and it may well come down to draft day, and us dangling Carr for a third.....which Oakland may take out of desperation, b/c they WANT Calvin Johnson, and if Moss if traded, they NEED him too.

So if we get a third rounder from Oakland a possibility is:

1: Reggie Nelson FS
2: Matt Schaub (via trade) QB
3: Steve Smith WR
3: Daymien Hughes CB

Not too bad. Not great, but not too bad. I would be happy with it. :joker:

QB: Schaub
WR1: AJ
WR2: Steve Smith
RB: Green-Lundy combo (Dayne on 3rd downs)
TE: Owen Daniels
then our O-line

our D-line +
LB - Clark
LB - Greenwood (Barber on passing downs)
LB - Demeco Ryans
SS - Earl
FS - Reggie Nelson
CB1 - Dunta Robinson
CB2 - Daymien Hughes

I see us going somewhere, see Kubiak just needs time and of course some money for the salary cap would help. But its coming around pretty good.:elmo:

Wouldn't Meachem make sense in the 1st round? We need offense in this draft, not defense. If our offense gets better, we can win 10 games next season.

I don't get this. We get the QB quite a few wanted. I'm reservedly excited about it. Trade back to 10 and you're wanting a FS.

Let me get this right: we just spent two second rounders on a QB. We're still in limbo about our LT starter from last year. Overall while our line has gotten better it is still sub par. The Jordan Black singing ws nice but QUALITY LT starters aren't let go by teams and especially at that price.

Our best bang for the buck is 1st pick LT Levi Brown LT Penn State.

3rd a guy like Josh Gattis FS Wake Forest.

Maybe we get an extra 3rd or fourth for Carr if we're lucky. Use that on a sleeper CB.

you know please evolve, you can be too sensible sometimes. i hate this and you know why! because Levi Brown would be a GREAT pick...i have just started getting excited about Reggie Nelson or Leon Hall!! if you can't tell im just kidding with ya...good post and levi would be good. i think secondary is our biggest weakness but if kubiak/smith goes levi brown in the 1st and gets a secondary guy in the 3rd that will help...i'm all for it.

48million, our new franchise QB, Levi could (probably should) be it. but nelson and hall are sexier....lol! i mean...sshhh. lol

With the addition of Matt Schaub and the upcoming draft that is sure to NOT disappoint, I think the Texans can make the playoffs next season.

I hope I'm not the only one.

As a season ticket holder since 1969, I have watched the Falcons loose a lot of good players. By any chance do you remember a guy by the name of Favre? I think we lost his replacement. You guys are going to love Matt Schaub.

Thanks for the encouraging words. Hopefully we can give him every opportunity to succeed here.

a 3rd for Carr is pretty optimistic. I'm thinking more 4-6.

AT this point, the team would be lucky to get a 6th! I'm still hoping to get a 4th! It would relly SUCK if we get nothing for Carr!

I've been hearong Steve Smith should be going in the late 1st to sometime in the 2nd.

If Smith is gone, we should go with someone like Breaston WR from Michigan. He is really dropping down in the draft, and he is a good player. He would be a nice #2.

Yeah i like the kid too. Seems to dropping later in the draft. Could be there in the fourth and he's got kick return experience too.
