Well I never had heard of this site until Runner posted it in the Black thread, so I thought I'd bring the info here. Stats don't mean everything, especially with OL, but they do begin to give you a picture. Here they are:

Here is what I can conclude. Out of our tackles, Eric Winston was statistically the best. He didn't play every game, so its tough to get a good read, but he seemed to do pretty well for a rookie on a broken line.

Both our guards were comparable to their expensive FA counterparts. Both gave up a few more sacks than the FAs, but not any huge increase

As for centers, Hodgdon isn't even comparable to the other two.

The stats on Flannagan, Winston, and McKinney look good. I dunno what everyone is hussing and fussing over.

if they stay healthy that would be great to have as an O-Line....just get a good LT and LG.

PS: Some numbers to shoot for in a LT:

Jamaal Brown - LT Saints - 3 sacks allowed all season
Marcus McNeil - LT Chargers - 5 sacks allowed all season


And some numbers that show you that stats aren't everything:
Walter Jones - T Seahawks - 10.5 sacks allowed
Orlando Pace - T Rams - 4.5 sacks in 8 games

well, it's a kinda hard to assign blame for stats to begin with. You don't know who was supposed to do what in the first place.

It's even harder trying to figure out how these guys credited the sacks, because we don't know what they were thinking our OLmen were supposed to do.

I'm currently going back through our season, watching my recorded games. I'm on the Giants game, and so far, I've got one, maybe two sacks on Salaam.

I can't imagine how Flanagan only has 0.75 sacks...

I love snapstats.com, but they've missed one key point on Flanagan. It should read like this:

Mike Flanagan- 9 games, started 9.
0 false starts

0.75 sacks allowed
6 times stepped on quarterbacks foot resulting in fumble and/or sack

Maybe that was one where he stepped on Carr's foot and a D-lineman came in and "touched" him as he lay on the ground. lol: Flanagan was credited with .75 sacks and the D-lineman was credited with .25 sacks! :laughjump:

these stats doesnt tell you how many times they didnt hit their man to open up a hole for the RB, these stats doesnt show how many times they were beat and Carr got hit during and after the pass.

QB getting his foot stepped on by the center is not the center's fault. It's the QB's.

It is usually due to a slow drop back or from pushing off with the front foot as opposed to pushing off with the back foot. I beleive Carr squares his feet when under center. It is an easy fix.
