Sugar Bowl: Notre Dame vs. LSU

Should be a very interesting game. I'm not convinced that Brady Quinn is the no.1 overall prospect in the country or that he's the no.1 pick. If Brady has a bad game against a talented LSU defense then his stock might drop. On the other hand if JeMarcus Russell has a great game he might declare for the draft. The Texans may have a very high interest on someone like LaRon Landry so it'll be interesting to watch him. Our draft board might be influenced by what happens in this game tonight.

I'm predicting a stomp fest by LSU

In New Orleans
Fast LSU defense
Weak ND defense

Russell could very well end up the #1 pick after tonight

LSU:24
ND:17

I hope to see Russel live up to the hype he's been getting on the board and for Landry to have a solid game w/a pick!!!

And I REALLY hope ND loses no matter what!!!

Well... LSU's starting SS has been suspended, no word on how long he is going to be out.. they siad it could be as little as a quarter or as long as the whole. game.. Same goes for their Starting RB and a few backups..

I give it to LSU 34 - 30. Score aside, Its just going to be cool seeing that many draft prospects and 2008 prospects (Zenon, Dorsey) go against a top team.

Some other key players to watch:

ND, Ryan Harris, LOT - Harris is rated as the #3 OT by Scouts Inc.

LSU, Glenn Dorsey DT - (Jr) is ranked the 8th best player by Scouts, Inc

Then for ND there is Smaradzija WR, Abamiri DE, Zibkowski S and Landry DT

LSU -Bowe WR

To quote Dolly Parton in the great cinema master piece and outstanding chick flick "Steel Magnolias", "Ya know, There's a story behind that". Inquiring minds are curious. " Do tell " :bowser:

NEW ORLEANS -- LSU is expected to be without two of its key players and two backups for at least the first quarter of Wednesday night's game against No. 11 Notre Dame in the Allstate Sugar Bowl at the Louisiana Superdome.

Tigers coach Les Miles suspended starting strong safety Jessie Daniels, running back/kick returner Trindon Holliday and backup linebackers Perry Riley and Kelvin Sheppard for missing curfew this week in New Orleans, an LSU official familiar with the situation said Wednesday.

An LSU official said Miles hasn't determined the length of the suspensions -- whether they will cover the first quarter, first half or entire game -- and has afforded the players ways to shorten their suspensions.

"We did have some players who violated team rules and their playing time will be affected accordingly," said LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette, who declined to identify the suspended players or the nature of their violations. "The violations were very minor in nature, but in the framework of the team they were significant."

ND - Quinn, Walker, McKnight, Smaradzija, Harris, Abamiri, Zbikowski

LSU - Russell, Bowe, Davis, Dorsey, Zenon, Landry

Dorsey ranked 8th is pretty high, but he's been nothing short of impressive when I've seen him play. Im interested in seeing Harris play, I think I've seen his "True Life" episode more times than I've seen him play in person.

I will be watching Russel and Landry as one of the two kids on LSU probably has a better than 50% chance of being a Texan, depending on the direction the team decides to take. I doubt we have much interest in Quinn.

If Russell has a great game (like Young last year) he could very well declare. He has good potential to be 1st QB taken this year. And potential for #1 overall, but probably top 10. I think he would look great in a Raiders uniform! But going to play for the raiders, alone that will make you stay in school lol.

I hope Russell plays well enough to merit consideration by the hometown team and that Quinn plays well enough to be taken by the Lions.

Jesse Daniels not starting wont hurt LSU cuz their backup SS Craig Steltz is actually better and leads the team in INT.

On paper and this year LSU should destroy ND like 45 to 13 or something
But i hope LSU doesnt come in there to confident or to cautious cuz i have a feeling ND is going to try to do some big plays earlier and fast.

I hate ND and as u know i love LSU, i just dont like the idea of ND being such a HUGE underdog.

Brady looked like Carr running towards the sidelines not throwing it away and taking the sack. I've been saying for two years now Brady is grossly overrated.

Well get another chance to look at another young prospect in the title game.

I have a feeling who ever comes up big in these games could win out the spot of top FS in the draft.
