Booing at the end of the game?

Did that many fans really want to see the Texans try and score from the 6 yard line when taking two kneeldowns could end the game with a win? One of the O-linemen, forget who, raised his arms to the booing as if to say "WTF?".
 
there was plenty of booing and i in no way condone it in that situation, but the consensus that i got in the stands was, "yall owe us". after they booed the first kneel down, everyone seemed to accept that this was going to be a win and started cheering.
 
Yea that was pretty dumb. If it were another team in that situation, and they tried to score on us, those same fans would be irate.

It was McKinney. They were all shaking their heads in the huddle. That's just un-educated fans.
 
Hand off and risk Carr pulling a Pisarcik? I'm glad they kneeled. They already had one botched handoff earlier.
 
I doubt if the fans at the game knew Taylor almost had a 100 yards. I chalk it up to fans not understanding the situation. Now booing when the Texans had Carr run that bootleg for negative yards, now that I can understand! Is that the best play they could come up with? But, Victory formation in the last minute IS the best play you can run! Can't wait for McKinney show on Tuesday morning to hear what he has to say!

Or could you imagine if they did score and then kickoff and the browns run it back and then get an onside kick? Sounds impossible but anything can happen and usually does to the Texans!
 
That was embarassing to me that some Texans fans were booing there at the end. You've got to be a complete moron or just drunk & ignorant to be doing that. TOTALLY classless. :loser

I'll take the win and be very happy with it. No, we didn't cover my 10 point prediction. But, we won. I'm much more happy with that.
I didn't get to see the game out here. I got to watch the Raiders get it handed to them. So, in all, it was a very satisfying day.
Typical Houston fans. It's all about me. Not so much un-educated as it is selfish.
 
When I heard the booing it was funny to me.

My wife asked me why are they booing they just won 2 games in a row?!

I couldn't answer that, but I do kinda understand if your right there at the endzone why not just give Taylor the ball?! Oh well thats what I would've done maybe I'm wrong but hell I ain't the coach.:tease:
 
Totally classless.

Running up the score is for Madden. This is real life sport. Fans need to learn how to win with some friggin dignity. I love the irony of the fan that complains about the Texans being inept but then cheers loudly during our snap count or boos when we take a knee to preserve the win. Being a fan is a lot simpler than being a football player.
 
I was at the game, and didn't quite understand the booing either. As I noted on the game thread

Awesome. I get back from the game and (though I didn't look though all the game pages) apparently - the last two pages discuss the fans booing at the end. So, does that make some on the board better than those at the game if the only focus is the fans? How about the game discussion and now worrying about what a "quality fan" entails?

Personally, I didn't understand the booing at the end myself, maybe it's because the fans there at the game wanted a shellacking of a team and not just a "nice win". Dunno. The fans in the stadium were defintely out for blood today to let the powers that be know how they felt whenever a bad play turned out to be such.

But hey, we won (ugly) first two in a row since 2004, first home win to close a season, and Ryans had a heck of a season to finish with the most tackles for a rookie in 20 years. Defense - most impressive - glad y'all really stepped up today, especially with the turnovers and a rumblin' bumblin' stumblin' TD. Not allowing a TD in a game. Taylor - thanks for stepping in for Dayne. Nice to see what you have when it's all on you (literally) for a game.

I think Scooter in post #3 summed it up pretty good what the "voiceful fans" were thinking at the game and the eventual cheers. I feel they (as did I) just wanted to see a complete WHUPPIN of the Browns and god a nice win instead... which I'll take either version, thank you very much.

Ah well.
 
I was there and I was a little taken back from it from what I got they were saying they do not see alot TD and this would have been a easy one. The thing that they need to keep in mind is if you like it or not this is a class act organization they will never run up the score on another team or score a easy td when all they have to do is hold on and kneel. It shows respect to the other team think about it if the shoe was on the other foot and the Browns tried to score and run up the score how would they fell. The only reason I would see them trying to score is if they had a chance for the playoffs and needed that score to get in. Class act and I am proud of that.
 
i was watching the game at my gf's apartment, and she asked me why the heck all the texan fans were booing when we'd won the game. i didn't know what to say. i wouldn't say that i was stunned, but i was certainly surprised at the boos. it was stupid and classless. you don't boo a team that's about to win a game. you esp. don't boo when your coach calls a kneel down out of respect for the other team.
 
They weren't booing, they were saying happy neeeeeeeeeeeew year.

The boo birds are mostly a byproduct of frustrated fans I think....a lot of pent up frustration out there amongst the fans.
 
Yesterday was what I call a 'give away' crowd.

At least 75% of the people around me were new faces, and between trips to the concessions to get more sugar based garbage to stuff down their kids' throats - or 5,000 calorie baked potatoes to stuff down their own - most appeared to be hard pressed to know when to boo or cheer. The Landry's Helmet Shuffle got 'em rockin though...

I assume many got 'gimme' tickets from friends or co-workers who either couldn't go or chose not to go to the game.

The "Quiet, Offense at Work" warning sign they put on the Jumbo Tron is one way to combat the know-nothings, but you need an offense that works before that can be of any use.

I think it was McKinney. People weren't booing the team. They were booing the fact that we kicked butt in two games and that was our last chance to score for 9 months. More of a hunger.

But yes, booing is a silly way to express that.
 
I wonder if the Boo Birds were really closet case Cleveland fans.

I wonder if the Boo Birds think the team's name is the Houston Cowboys.

I wonder if the Boo Birds think class is something they don't need ever since they finished school in the 6'th grade.

I wonder if the Boo Birds think Mario Williams is a pretty good running back.

Most of all, I wonder if the Boo Birds realize there is no reason to embarass another professional team.
 
I think we touched on all the possible and probable reasons, but I hope that booing doesn't become habit to Texans fans.

Right or wrong, I think that a lot of fans wanted to see some killer instinct at the end of the game. When they didn't, they expressed themselves.

It wouldn't be the first time that an NFL team ran up the score. We've been on the receiving end a few times.
 
Man, i have eight tickets that i gave up as i was out of the area and could not attend. Sure hope it was not one of my seats that were boooing. That being said, did any of you who attended start cheering when they took a knee. After all the victory formation is something to cheer about. Maybe the cheers would have drowned out the boos. That being said, houston fans in gneral are not good football fans, never have been. It will take alot of us to speak up and inform them how fans are supposed to act. It will take time.

Most of the boos were coming from the bullpen and North end zone seating. It was kind of ridiculous, but I can understand the frustration that a lot of people are feeling with this organization.

The Texans front office needs to be educated on how to make more efficient draft selections. We got lucky with D. Ryans, but you use your first draft choice on a couple of different players you have a much better team and a couple of more wins this year.
 
Another possiblity... maybe after a close safety (by Mario) and keeping the Browns backed up in the endzone and thwarting their 4th down effort, maybe the fans just smelled blood and wanted just one more thing, TD, to cheer about. The Texans DEFENSE was just really on a roll and wanted the offense to just make one push at the end to put the heel on the throat...

ah well. Who knows?
 
you guys should stop taking a little booing so serious. most of the guys booing were probably not in any shape to be driving home.
 
It was lame. But Reliant fans fail to surprise me anymore. They scream on offense, nap on defense, and boo everything they don't understand.

Maybe they were just in a booing mood. I think David was booed 2 or 3 times during the game.

I think that says it. Fans in general are fed up and they're making it known...even if they have to reach. A lot of times, people boo if they hear somebody around them booing....(or should I say baaing...)
 
Kneeling down and running the clock out is the right thing to do. After years of watching the way Peyton Manning stays in games during a blow out to pile on his stats, Texans' fans should know how classless it would have been to go for the score.
 
Clearly they wanted Taylor to get 100 yards...I swear this mb is full of negative people ready to ***** at anything...as classy as we have been as fans this year why say we all of a sudden became unclassy...besides the price of admission allows you to boo, scream. holler, or whatever you want civil-ly
 
I doubt they were booing the team if anything they were booing DC i would think or the browns(who cares).But,who gives anyone the right to call anyone classless and not know why that person is booing or doing whatever they are doing.Why they were booing is pure speculation to anyone on these boards and most of all who cares,what are you gonna give out "your not classy" cards and take away their season tickets.Most people at the stadium were probably tipsy anyway.
 
I was in the North section of the Bullpen, section 115 when it happened and couldn't believe it

One guy yelled "I didn't pay 2000 bucks for these tickets to see you kneel the f*(king ball"

I could believe how people were acting, makes me wonder why anyone in the team would want to play for fans that cannot understand about winning a game. But then again maybe the fans don't know how to act since they are not use to wins

I feel that the fans have witnessed getting our butts kicked so many times, they wanted to see a dagger in the jugular!
