Anthony Weaver Placed on IR

Peldon

Rookie
—The Texans placed defensive end Anthony Weaver on injured reserve with a rotator cuff injury he suffered during the game Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. Weaver will undergo surgery to repair the shoulder injury this week, and recovery is expected to take four to six months.

"We're going to get it fixed as soon as possible, and get him going on rehab," coach Gary Kubiak said. "I think he could probably fight through it, but instead of him going out there this week and making it worse, we'll go ahead and try to get it fixed.

The Texans signed defensive end Earl Cochran from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. He will play on Sunday.

Dang, are we ever going to cut an injury break? McLame calls us a snake bit team, and it sure seems that way.

I was wondering how Cochran wasn't on the practice squad earlier in the year. He was our most consistent D-linemen in the preseason, IIRC.

Gives Peek and Babin some more playing time which isn't bad news considering they are pass rush specialist going against a weak pass blocking team starting a 3rd stringer

Also that means Williams was the only starter at DL to make it all season

If they've got any sense, they're going to try to run on us like we did Indy; but, that's OK because we ARE going to run on them like we did Indy (well, mostly) and we'll pass better against them when we need to.

If anyone should be playing to prove he deserves a spot on the team next year, it's Peek. The Texans have gotten little payback from him in four years.

I agree with you. Although it might be too late. You'd think he'd be chomping at the bit to prove something to his new coach. IMO, the only thing he's shown so far is how he can jump on and off the injured list.

don't forget that he has shown us how he far he can jump offsides too.

I remember the biggest play Peek made this year was the FF against the Fred Taylor when the Jags were driving in the first meeting this year between the 2 teams. Williams got his first FR of his career.

Also Peek is a special teams freak, remember his blocked punt against the Chiefs, I like him and hope he stays

The Pats were going after Peek last year. I'm sure they'll do the same this year...and watch Peek turn into a Pro-Bowler.
