Hey Guys - I Have To Say...

Glacier

Waterboy
back in January when we didn't know who was going to be drafted and whether or not Kubiak was coming home to Texas, many of us had some debates about who we wanted the Texans to Draft.

I was a staunch VY supporter and got plenty of negative popularity votes as a result.

I've been following VY in Tennessee, as I said I would, being that I am quite the UT homer and living in Austin. Nevertheless, I am a fan of Texas football and really want the Texans to do well.

All that said, I just want to say to all the Texans fans, who feel duped or betrayed or robbed, that I do feel for you folks. But seriously, did anyone expect anything different at all from Vince Young?

It takes some serious loyalty to be Texans fans these days given how badly management has botched the drafts and how they have openly said that they were going to do what they were going to do, regardless of ticket sales or fan opinions.

There is some hope. Davis will be healthy. It looks like the O Line will be good with the guys who are hurt that will be back. There is the possibility that an elite RB can be drafted.

Ryans was a sure hit. Mario Williams is a class act and, will be better with time and of course, you probably have the best WR in the league.

In all, it really is a building process and coach K is doing a good job with Carr this year. Hang in there Texan's Loyals.

Andre Johnson is not the top WR in the league. He isn't even in the top 10, and he won't crack it until he stops dropping balls.

He probably can't catch, because he's so damn surprised to get the ball deep. Usually when he runs deep routes its just for exercise.......

Spencer is the only injured OLman I expect to see back next year. & the only one I want to see.....

Sure, bring Flannagan back to sit on the bench, and "mentor" Hogden & the guy we draft, but he doesn't really need to suit up & waste a roster spot.

Mckinney.... he better hope I never see him on the streets.

Weigart.... once again, i wouldn't mind seeing him in a back up role....

Bedell?? I don't even know what to say about this guy. or coach's decision to put him on our team.

Well we agree on this, Though I dont have any confidence in Winston. Im not writing him off, but eh, he does not impress me.

I like Marshawn Lynch better. He's more versatile and durable. Trade down, pick up Lynch in rd 1, get a QB in round 2 or 3. Take A corner or impact LB with the other pick we had coming in. Hopefully, if we trade down, then take a tackle with the extra first day pick. That would round out a great first day, and would go a long ways to fixing what ails the offense.

As far as Andre's drops, he has more than I would like to see, but it's not an outragous amount. All receivers drop passes. It's almost like we live in a vacuum. Do any of you people watch any other games? Some of your comments seriousely make me wonder.

word up my man, word the ****** up!!!...I made a thread about the "it" factor that VY had and how that "it" would make him a special player...and I was laughed at by some of the same people who are angry now....lesson learned: when in doubt listen to Dream.

what people see is AJ's drops in key situations, that is what they are remembering.

My question remains - do any of you people watch any other games? Life isn't lived in a vacuum. TO and Randy Moss have always dropped more balls than AJ. Somehow they aren't run out of town on a rail. Picking on AJ for dropping a few balls is like Nero fiddling while Rome burned. It's like the police picking up a shop lifter while the store next door reports a mass murderer running through the store. It's like worrying about a flat tire on your car after someone torched it. Ok, you get my point. I sometimes wonder about our fanbase. I'll leave it at that.

I get all this flak from my friends and family that I'm a Texan fan, but it doesn't bother me. People need to relax and keep supporting the team, least that's my opinion. At times I do get frustrated, but there is no point in bringing up the past mistakes as we can't go back into the past and change things. Things will eventually turn around, God knows when, but they will. As for the rest of the season, if our Oline played like it did yesterday, then we can win the rest of games. I truly believe that the Patriots, in my opinion, will be the toughest. Colts and Browns should be good games,

Thanks for your attempt to cheer fans up....

but I doubt Davis will play again. If what I've heard is correct - that he won't play if he feels any pain - then I think it's time to stick a fork in him. Football players play with/through pain all the time. He's got his money, we've got a few highlights, so see ya' later DD.

Ryans is our New Hope. Build a defense around this kid before the Houston mojo envelops him, too. The FO had better obtain some defensive playmakers next off-season before it's too late. DeMeco is one of the few reasons to actually have hope for the future.

Mario, Mario, Mario...nice guy, class act...but these qualities do not win football games. I'm not down on the guy, and never have been. BUT, he'd better be all that and a bag of chips if there is any chance for him to be accepted by a lot of fans. It's not his fault where he was drafted, but unfortunately, it is now his burden to deal with it. Nature of the beast. Hopefully he's part of the dominant defense they build around Ryans.

Speaking of defense....Richard Smith....if there is a quality D-coordinator available, McNair needs to throw mad money at him to bring him here...I'm talking record setting money, whatever needs to be done...Smith is NOT the answer, and DeMeco Ryans' career is on the line following this boneheaded coordinator's 'leadership'.

I like Kubiak...he's made some....'interesting' play calls...but I can live with a first year HC's mistakes...but he's hitched his wagon to a horse called Carr, and that might be his biggest mistake. We'll see where he goes with it over the coming months, but my gut has a bad feeling about it....really bad.

And then we have Carr....Mr. Statistic this year....whoop-de-do...I've never been a Car 'hater' or 'homer', more like Carr-neutral (hope for the best, prepare for the worst)....but it is obvious that he's not a field general, not even a leader good enough to be elected team captain by his peers...and this is telling for a QB. It's too late for excuses, too late to wait for his potential to develop, too late to hope we can build a line and running back....it's time for him to move on and let us all wish him the best wherever he goes.

I'm here for the long haul, so I'm not really in need of a pep speech. But thanks for the good words, and hopefully they are prophetic enough to bring a winning team to this city sooner than later.

problem is we don't get many KEY situations and when we do we have breakdowns. I wasn't questioning if AJ drops more balls than TO or anything. this team doesn't get many opportunities, and they are magnified when we have a breakdown, whoever is the blame
