Live in Cali and I thought it was an excellent opportunity to support my CFSU dawg, David Carr from Fresno.

I wore his #8 jersey and got some serious heat from half drunken Raiders fan. It was worth it to support my favorite player and team.

YEAH THE CHESTER PITTS CREW WAS THERE IN FULL FORCE! Go chestahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

Truth!........ David is in TROUBLE! I've also been a football fan since I can remember and I see "the" Drew Bledsoe in Carr. He is holding the ball too long. I found myself yelling.

"Carr........ let it fly"
"Let it go! let it go! let it go!"

The line was average. They are not that bad, I did not see serious mistakes of breakdowns. IMHO in a couple of plays, Carr allowed himself to get hammered.

Carr needs to put that ball where only his WR can get it. MORE OFTEN

Carr is not confident throwing beetween the seam of the CB and the safeties. If you want to be an elite QB........... you simply have to throw in the middle. The raiders took out the dinks and dunks, there were WRs open at the seams.

The line is terrible AND Carr holds onto the ball too long. The line seldom forms a real pocket AND Carr doesn't use what's there properly. Watch any other NFL game and you saw real pockets formed by the O-line AND you saw a QB that could move within the pocket, buy time, and hit his receivers down the field.

There is no place where only his WR can get it. I don't exactly see Moulds and AJ yelling, "Here!!! Here!!! I'm open!" Reason: they're not.

You want Moulds or AJ to be open? Have them run to a spot about 3 yds. past the LOS in the middle of the field. That's where they won't be covered, and yes, David will thrown it to them over and over again.

Or, we could call some plays with routes and blocking schemes that actually work & GET SOME LINEMEN.

Bologna....

The Texans line isn't elite...but if you're expecting them to form a perfect Halo around Carr you are expecting too much...We are playing with four guys on the line who didn't start the season....Only 1...Pitts.....has started since day 1.....

They played pretty well all things considered....David Carr brought a few of those sacks on himself...

I watched three other games yesterday (as I do every week) and every other O-line I watch forms a pocket the majority of the time in which the QB can move around. Our line forms a pocket that is about two yards wide, max. They form this crappy pocket on a more consistent basis than they have in the past, so yes, that's an improvement. Read my full post above. I am not exonerating Carr in an y way. But watch other teams and you'll see what I am talking about. Hell, watch the Dallas games. Drew Bledsoe got benched, rightfully so, because he was doing David Carr stuff but with a much better pocket for the most part. Dallas' line isn't great by any means, but they give Romo enough room to work with, ehether it be sliding left/right, moving up to press the LOS, or running for a gain.

I will point out on one of the plays that Carr got hit on and the ball was tipped, our right guard was four yards downfield looking like we were running a wide receiver jet screen.

I have coached offensive line on the college level and the semi-professional level in Europe. Our offensive line is not the absolute worst offensive line I have seen. That is what I can say about them as a unit right now. Hopefully our young buck will come back healthy. And Winston needs to pick up his growth more quickly. Flanagan back healthy next year will give us three fairly solid folks. But we need two more definitely better than what we have.

Exactly. If Dinkin' Dave can't dump the ball off short you take away the passing game entirely.

For the record... Carr did throw for a putrid 37 yards, not -5. The NFL registers sacks as minus yardage against a team's total passing yards. Thus guys like Randal Cunnigham and Mick Bick having these gaudy rushing numbers. They never have a negative run counted against them.

Just a little thing! We sucked, but not the level of suck that -5 indicates!

My quote to my players after an ugly win....

"Winning is better than losing" :bananasplit:

And with the signature, Did you happen to see Leach trucking guys yesterday, that was sweet.

whenever carr "lets it fly" he throws it up for grabs and prays that andre is the one to catch it. i havent seen carr just lob up a perfect go-route ball that was on-stride with any reciever. the only long ones carr has thrown this yr have been balls that could just as easily be intercepted as being caught by andre johnson...almost a 50/50 shot....and thats just too risky. i know andre can physically make those plays 7 out of 10 tries, but its pathetic that that is the only vertical game we have. i thought our recievers were fast!

I hate to admitt it, after much support for David, -5 net yardage and multifumbles, I'm done with Carr...win or lose Vs Tenn and Indy in the next two games.

I know it's been said before, but Carr can't read defences.. Kevin Kolb can.

Official Carr let it fly thread?

Apparently we didn't let much of anything fly yesterday!!

I don't know if I would have liked to see David throw the ball any more than he did yesterday.

That secondary(if I'm not mistaken) has more INTs than any other secondary in the league.....

David pretty much took them out of the game. We only had two turnovers against those ball hawks...... a big reason why we won that game.

I agree we should air it out more often. But I don't think yesterday was the most opportune time.

You answer your own questions grasshoppa. Until DC can put the pebble between the safeties he is not worthy to carry the Dojo's diaper. Coach wasn't going to kill his team again so he made DC hand the ball off and take his negative 5 yards passing to his grave. I like Coach Kubiak.
