Big 12 Championship

True Story.

I just wish we had a decent backfield. We have a awesome rest of the team, but our DB's suck worse than the Texans.

The Aggie secondary is probably our weakest point. Our offense is only limited by McGee's abilities and he has shown to be pretty much above average so far this season. Our running game is dynamic and won't be stopped once we get it rolling.

Your pass D does suck, but it's not as bad as KU's. McGee is horrible IMO. I'm so sorry for ATM fans every time I see him play. The kid just doesn't have the talent to play at this level.

We have an awesome offense and a good front seven. We lost our two best LB's last year, but we'll be ok with that part of the team.

...KU basketball is about to start. Care to make bets on the basketball meetings between our teams? Possibly and avatar bet?

Texas will win, don't even try to give youselves hope, theres no chance for any other big 12 team, and whatever team is playin texas is lucky that its not in houston, the only reason texas did bad against the huskers is because it was cold outside, and it might be a deciding factor at arrowhead, but texas still wins

go horns :redtowel:

Or so said the Jags when they rolled into Reliant Stadium last weekend. "Easy win" right? Hahahaha. So far Texas hasn't played a team with a RB like the J-Train.... big enough to handle those oversized defenders. By handle I mean obliterate....

Gig'em Aggies

we will see

Texas has some Big dudes up front, much bigger than lane. Okam/Crowder will most likely handle him. Mixing it up with that lil dude will be the key. I have not been impressed with a&m's qb either. I haven't watched enough of mccoy to have an opinion. Not a fan of either school, just some opinions.

If it's Nebraska that wins the Big 12 North, then they actually have a shot. They won't be favored if it's against Texas but if it's OU or A&M I think they will be. I think Texas will win the not-so Big 12 this season, but I'm rooting against them.

I thought I heard it was suppose to be Texas vs Missouri somewhere? With Texas being the big favorite... Oh well...

Go Texas teams...

Shame it's not at Reliant every year, I would love to go again... :chicken:

It rotates around.

San Antonio
Dallas
Houston
Kansas City
Denver

All have hosted Big12 championship games. I may be leaving some out as well.

From the looks of things, it'll be a Texas/Nebraska re-match.

Texas is certainly in the driver's seat in the South. Their path is simple, win 'em all or you can lose one...just not to A&M.

A&M has a bit of an uphill climb but it's not out of the question. They just have to win the rest of their games and they're in.

I don't see any team from the North challenging Nebraska. Not that they're great, just the rest of the North is really bad.

McGee does have the talent to play at this level.

Only it is at HB or WR not QB. He actually has pretty decent speed for a white kid.

McGee has the talent to play at this level. He's just playing in the wrong offense.

Reggie McNeal was showing signs of becoming really good. Then Fran got his hands on him. Now he's doing the same with McGee before his college career can really get off the ground.

Have to agree with Huge here. I saw McGee maybe 10 times in high school and he is a drop back passer not an option QB. Your coaches offense doesn't use his abilities. There is a reason why Jordan Shipley is Texas High School's all time leader in receptions and Td's. It is a shame Shipley and McGee didn't go to the same school and could have kept their chemistry together. If A&M ever gets some recievers and runs the right type of offense, McGee will be successful.

Try Chad Schroeder. If we had Troy Smith on this team then you would be hearing about Chad going in the late 2nd round at least. As of right now I think he will fall to maybe the 5th-6th round but he will do good in the NFL if that is the path he chooses. Great hands, excellent route runner. Our #1 Receiver.

I agree that Fran doesn't utilize McGee's abilities. Hell... everyone at A&M knows that. Most football talk on the weekdays revolves around "fire Fran". I have seen some poor choices in playcalling by the coaching staff but I don't have any particular beef with him. I wish we could have a more vertical passing game though....

Yeah, completing 65% of his passes and having a 9:1 TD:Int ratio is horrible. And since he's already a sophomore, there's no way he'll improve for his junior and senior seasons. Also his 2 game winning/game tying drives at the end of the 4th quarter on the road are no big accomplishments either. :sarcasm:

His only bad game this year has been against Tech, where he had a concussion in the 2nd quarter.

Look at who he has played. They beat one decent team in Mizzu. He isn't the right QB for ATM, and he will never be that QB. He is a drop back QB who is trying to run an option set.

He has played marginal at best against one of the easiest schedules thus far in the NCAA.

Nice post Huge.
Agreed I posted eaarlier that I thought that Texas was a three loss team this year. I expected Nebraska to up set them last weekend. If Studard and Ulatoski dont' cover the two fumbles, they would've got up set. Those two plays kept it close enough to give Texas a chance. Don't count out the Ags lol. Gig 'em. Really P.O.ed that they've got Texas vs Boise St. in the bowl line ups if things stand. Yuck. Yeah, that game travels well. Arizona in Jan. ? Ski guys might like it though. I bet the network guys are hurling over that match up gem.

Maybe he can catch some chicken fried stake with Reggie McNeal ? You guys pick QBs like Anna Nichole Smith picks men. And the reason we love the Ags is because of the way you defend your guys no matter who the father is. Lol you're a hoot. :bowser: Calm down there sparkie.

I'm not saying he's going to be an All-American or anything, I just find it funny that a Kansas fan says he isn't a Big XII talent. I guess not everyone can be as good as Kerry Meier and Adam Barrman

I'm not claiming KU to be a domminant football program, we took Nebraska to OT and ATM to the wire. All I was saying is that McGee is not the right QB for your team and he does not have the talent to play that system in the Big 12. The conference is on a down year, but McGee will never be anything special.

Also, I assume that no ATM fan out there is willing to make an avatar bet on KU vs. ATM when basketball starts?? Anyone? UT? Mizzu?

Here's some advice:

After saying people need to stop with the Aggie jokes, don't come back a few weeks later and proclaim that Chad Schroeder would be a 2nd round draft pick if he had a better QB.

I thought they might be a 3-loss team as well (tOSU, NU, bowl game). I hate re-match games though. You can say Texas was lucky by getting the fumbles but wasn't Nebraska also lucky the place kicker could hit anything within 40 yards that day? But stiil, playing Nebraska again in bad weather on grass is not something I'm looking forward to...assuming both teams make the Big12 title game.

Do you realize Texas returns 1 starter from last year's team? And AJ Abrams will only be a sophomore this season. But give this team some time together and 2008 could be scary. Barring jumps to the NBA by multiple players of course.

UT will be losing it's best player next year when your super freshman jumps for the NBA. KU is young as well, but I'll make an avatar bet with any fan from any team...FU included if that is who you really support.

Is Mizzou out of the North race? They were doing pretty good for a while there and looked to have answered their questions at quarterback.

Mizzou is very much in the race. Problem is they host Oklahoma this week and travel to Nebraska next week. They have to have two things happen:

1. Win out and they're in.
2. They can lose a game but it can't be to Nebraska.

If either of those two happen, they're in the title game.
