THe Jags need to remember a bit of history

Seriously, the Jags need to worry about the Texans.

The Jaguars are 4-4 vs the Texans.

Two years ago, the Jaguars only needed to beat the Texans at Alltel to wrap up a wild card berth.

Final score: Texans 21, Jaguars 0.

Then the Jaguar fans complained the following week when the Colts took a 'bye' week against the Broncos, allowing the Broncos to take the final wild card spot.

Last year, the Texans lost twice to the Jags, but were only one dropped pass from Bradford away from stealing a game in Jacksonville. The Texans always play the Jags tough. The Jags should win this game, but you never can tell.

Remember? Ya we remember one minute your the Oilers, Next minute your the Titans, and then your the Texans. How could we forget?

It is a divisional game on the road, and we are 2 games behind Indy, enough said.

And you come from a city that features swimming on the front page of your newspaper's sports page and mostly AP stories.

Back in the day, when there was no NFL team in our fine city, I was visiting friends in Jacksonville. I read their sports page, and could not believe that such a small town with the worst sports page evaarrr, got an NFL team, and all I could use my Sundays for was improving my golf game.

Oh, and btw, I think a radio interview with me will be on the Jags pregame show. Taped, of course, as I will be out tailgating. Nothing like being on the radio when you have a tickle in the back of your throat and you feel like you have to cough.

Most of us remember our history and wouldn't take the texans or the titans lightly. IF we win this game, it will be much appreciated coming from a good coach and a QB that always plays us tough.

The combination of the texan history, two games behind the colts, and accruing injuries are concerning for most Jag fans.

Is John Henderson still whining about getting choked by our deep snapper?
hilarious stuff....that was the most childish widdle rant me eber did saw. Poor widdle Johnny Henderson being picked on my 240 pound long snappers.

You remember this... we were the Oilers, we are the Texans and we were never the Titans...
The Titans are the team that your little podunk town courted and tried to buy, but they shot you down for Nashville. That's rich right there...

I searched back and found the article. This is a classic. Jags and J-Ville writers calling us The Debil.

Texans dirty tricks pull down Jaguars.

The officials did not see what basically amounted to, if true, Pittman attempting to choke Henderson, and when one of the Jaguars retaliated against Pittman after the play's conclusion by shoving him, Pittman fell back in an exaggerated manner, going to the ground as if he had been shot. The refs saw Pittman get pushed, and penalized the Jaguars for a personal foul.

Some half-dozen Jaguars players said in interviews that the Texans were utilizing some of the dirtiest tricks in the book. Questionable low blocking. Kicking in the groin (hate when that happens). Throwing punches when the official wasn't looking. And perhaps the most egregious foul of all, they said, was that Houston players at times put on some of the worst acting jobs since William Shatner played Captain Kirk. In other words, the Texans played like devils, and then when the refs awoke from their catnaps to see what a scuffle was about, the Houston players shrugged and made like angels. "Who," they would say innocently, "little old me?"

As a Jag fan, I am getting the impression that some of these posts are supposed to be insulting...i'm not feeling that...oh well..

Bongo's just trying to find amusement wherever he can, cause his team sure isn't providing it...

Lots of talk about playing more physical this game.

It will be interesting if physical ends up equalling better play or if it just ends up jacking the dumb penalty totals.

My guess is some of both in the first qtr. and a whole lot of neither the rest of the game.

Playing more physical and intense should be a good thing. Most of the time IMO, we seem to be just playing rather than trying to dominate.

The Jags swept us last year, and I have very little reason to believe that they won't do the same this year (Of course I hope not!). But they are a good team this year, with a solid defense.

I just have little faith in our Texans' ability to rise up to any game. I mean, they could only play the Cowboys for half a game! They knew how much that game meant to us - the fans - yet they still went out there and laid an egg. How can I possibly buy into the illogical assumption that they will magically take a 32nd ranked D and a horrible running game and beat anyone?

Nice write-up and that pic of Del Rio made me laugh. Since Stroud is out, I guess that means Carr won't be getting clotheslined or blasted in the back out of bounds ..... not that that's dirty or anything.

Looks like I was right.....................Jags D is done with their injuries...............I think the next 4 weeks will bring them to that reality
