Carr's toss into the stands

I think that was an awesome move by DC...throwing the ball to the fans. Were any of our posters close to the ball?
I also noticed Carr encourage the fans after the scores...good to see him having fun and getting the fans involved.:ok:

I thought I read in the Chron that David wasn't too happy about the distance of the throw. From my view (606) it looked like a bomb! But he said something about it slipping and not going very far... :um:

He said he'd forgotten that he had bruised his throwing hand a few plays back, and the ball didn't quite do what he wanted, or something to that effect.

Hope his hand is all right. No one has really picked up on that, but we definitely don't want him to get hurt, since he is really coming along.

I am the first to admit "I am a Carr Homer"! I am excited for him. Bring it on David, the "girls" await you. "Cowgirls" that is!!

I thought that was an automatic fine by the NFL for doing that, along with a celebration penalty. Maybe it's if you only do it in someone else's stadium.

I understand Kubes wasn't too happy that he did it either.

I hope we've come a long way since spitting on his family. I hope he continues to be a class guy.

Their is a fine by the league and the cost of the ball. Corey Bradford got flagged for celebration last year when he tried to hit the wall below the fans and it sailed into the crowd.

If they'd do something about the o-line maybe the fans wouldn't have to pin Carr's well-being on "hope". :)

Speaking of, I know you were one of Seth Wand's biggest supporters and I one of his detractors, but I have to believe he'd be a superior choice over Bidell at this point. From what I'm hearing Winston isn't ready to go and they're hoping that the week off will allow Salaam (who's been barely adequate) to heal up.

I've heard they quietly brought in a number of players to work out this week but I hadn't heard of any prominent OL among them. Anyone else have any idea?

Still am. :)

I don't understand the Bedell choice at all, especially suiting him up on game day when the coaches knew he wasn't ready. Winston would have at least been ready to play up to his ability. Wand is at least a tackle. I know they say they like Bedell because he can play "both tackle and guard", but I think that the "and guard" part is irrelevant when we need a starting tackle.

I saw on another board they were going to bring in Dwayne "House" Carswell for a workout. I don't know how well he plays, but he was cut by the Broncos so that is a huge factor in his favor. That alone should make him the front runner.
:sarcasm:

The sad thing is that a moronic fan called in during the post game show on 610, Sunday, and complained about David throwing the ball into the stands. The guys on the radio kinda shot him down, but that guy complained about David the whole time. That was his first complaint and then I think he went on to complain that David doesn't throw the ball down the field ever and some more nonsense. I was frustrated by all the negativity so I kinda tuned him out.

It's not going to matter to those types of fans if we win the Super Bowl, they will still be a David hater. Unbelievable, but I'm afraid the line has been drawn. Why would you put that much energy into hating someone you don't even know, for what reason, cuz the poor guy (David) has been screwed over for 4 years? I know, the fan was probably jealous of David's hair and never got over it....LOL
:hunter:

I hope he was throwing the ball in the stands to nail someone with a VY jersey on.. yeah hes looked great hasnt he.. hahah....he would of set us back another 3 years..

Kubiak talked about the throw into the stands moment during his radio show.

He was non-amused. He says if that situation happens again, he expects for Carr to have that ball tucked and then bring it back to coach.

Why?

I can see him telling him to keep it tucked until he crosses into the end zone, but after that, what difference does it make?

Carr threw a wobbler. He said in a radio interview that he was throwing in the direction of where his wife and family sit. I enjoyed it, didn't bother me.

It landed some where around 113/112 maybe DDish.

He didn't say why.

I am guessing he doesn't want his starting QB to be braining somebody in the stands.

Texans Chick - Yes I heard that too, and I agree with Gary Kubiak. DC needs to control his emotion and keep cool. He is the leader of this team, and he needs to stay calm and mentally prepare for the next series of downs if or when he will be on the field directing our offense.

IMO this whole ball thrown in the stands thing is way too blown over the top, you know?! One thing they can't celebrate after they get a touchdown now watch they can't even throw a ball in the stands, thats just ridiculous IMO.

When is the last time you saw Joe Montana, Tom Brady, Terry Bradshaw, Roger Staubach, Jim Kelly, etc. throw the ball into the stands?

Give me a break, tell Brett Favre that.............He is 50 years old and still jumps around and tackles his own guys in the end zone.

Yea I am sure it effects him on the next drive.

This is the kind of guy we got, would not have it any other way old school.

What?! Football is a GAME of emotions. as long as someone isnt degrading another human being or making some indecent gesture that would offend someone else, I not only accept it...I encourage it. IMO its the only way to play the game is to be INthe game.

Well we know what DC hater said when he doesn't show emotion. DC is not a leader he doesn't emotion on the field blaa blaa[../I]

That is SO LAME! Throwing the ball into the stands is unsportsman like?!? That is totally dumb, and I don't get it. It's great fun for the fans (especially for the guy who caught it), and it doeosn't seem unsportsmanlike at all to me. It's just like catching a baseball isn't it? What, the NFL can't afford footballs or something? Also, you want to talk trash about David Carr after catching that pass in a win over the Dolphins? You should give that ball to someone else man. Some people I swear...

Make up your mind when DC shows emotion he needs to calm down ,when he don't he's not a leader and needs to fire up his team. :hairpull:

After the beating he's taken over the last half decade, I'm OK with it if he jumps up on the rail and runs along it like a freaking squirrel ....

I heard him on the radio yesterday or the day before say that he'll be fined $5,000 and that his wife wasn't too happy with him. But he also said that the money goes to charity so he's not too bothered by the fine.

That was the first thing that came to my mind.

As far as celebrating, I dunno. My coach always used to hound on "winning with class" and not showboating, but then again we didn't do much winning either. I don't know if Kubiak was down on it because he felt the celebration was excessive or if he really didn't want a fan to take it in the teeth or if there was some other reason we're not really picking up on.

I have no problem with showing emotion, and it is fun watching some of the celebrations that some of these guys come up with out there. T.O., Chad Johnson, and Steve Smith have been some of my favorites. But I've also always liked the players who just casually toss the ball to the ref like it was no big thing they just owned some defense. Maybe that's what Kubiak is going for -- the attitude that hey, we scored, so what, it wasn't that hard any way. :shades:

My favorite was Barry Sanders ....... after a jaw-dropping run he'd toss the ball to the ref like throwing his socks into the clothes hamper ....

I like that too, but I have no problem with what Carr did - it was spontaneous. The ones that irritate me are the ones that are obviously scripted, especially those where multiple players have to know and play their roles.

I was at the game and saw Carr throw the ball. At the end of the game I was coming down the escalator i saw the lucky guy with the ball that D.C. throw, and it wasn't his family that got the ball. LOL
It was some of Andre Johnsons family, one of the guys I think his brother had on his pro bowl jersey.
