Ryans should have gotten the full sack on Mario's .5....all Mario did was fall on him.
 
i guaranteed that he'd have his coming out party. i was right. good pressure overall by the texans' defense. which goes to show you how horrible miami's line is. unbelievably bad.
 
it was a great day for mario. not just because of the 1.5 sacks, but because he was ontop of culpepper for most of the day. i could not believe that he missed getting the sack on the second drive in the first quarter. he had culpepper lined up and had both hands on him and culpepper broke free. i dont think mario's used to having to try to bring down 260lb quarterbacks with that kind of strength. he was everywhere today though, so congrats to mario. great game young'n.

When he got his first sack I exploded and scared everyone in the house. I was venting and I felt good for Mario.
 
I hope people don't try to put it on Miami's bad line....Mario played really well today....regardless of the competition
 
Y'all were excited??? I think I had a tear of joy in my eye when it happened. It was great. I hope for the same in each game to come.
 
I'm just so excited for Mario. The celebration after the first sack was incredible, it really showed that his teammates are behind him 100%, damn good job, Mario.:redtowel:

The fact is he done it against NFL competition, but the so called experts are scheming of a way to discredit the sacks as we type lol.
 
I also noticed that he was disengaging with the blocker alot better today. He really did do what he said he was going to do; just " one move & go". I'm happy for him today, but he still needs alot of work & i hope he continues to get better. :)
 
The whole stadium exploded. It was awesome.

I heard Mario's radio interview right after the game, and he was really pumped. And he was really appreciative of the fan reaction.

I understand that and I agree that the line sucks....But Mario played well...he played different than he has the past three games....like I said regardless of who it was against Mario played well....
 
He was in on two sacks and I saw atleast two other real good hurries. He almost got his first sack in the 1st quarter, he got to Daunte and had his arms around him, but Culpepper is a tough SOB to bring down. It was really great to see something out of our investment today.
 
On the drive home a caller to 610 am said he watched the 2 point conversion on his tivo and stated Mario tipped the ball not greenwood as was initially reported. A few minutes later the radio announcers came back and "confirmed" this. Has anybody heard anything else about it?
 
I was just as impressed with the third down play right after the two sacks. He drove his man into the backfield.

From the stands I was impressed all day with Mario. He was in the backfield alot.
 
1. Thank you Mario for coming through on my 2 sack prediction. 1.5 will do.

2. Weaver should have had .5 of a sack, and Mario or Ryans the other .5 as they were pretty much there to make sure he went down.

True but there was another play I believe in the next drive where the RT had one of the most blatant uncalled holds ever and 75% would have had the sack but for the hold. It really was silly bad. Either the sack or the penalty would have been fine--neither was rIdiculous.

I saw that. Was ridiculous.

I was so excited I couldn't sit down. I can't even imagine how loud Reliant was. I am really proud of the fan reaction.... congrats to those who were there. He needed that, that's for sure.
 
missed the game ,but happy for Mario..

bad line or not.. it is a confidence booster and that is a start.

Not sure if you were watching it in TV or not, but it was funny how the announcers stumbled and practicaly swallowed their tongues as they watched it. Knew it was REALLY blatent holding and I guess they weren't sure what to say and then just said "Holding".

I was at the game and screamed so loud about it folks 10 rows away were laughing and going OK lighten up dude. There really isn't a word for how bad that non-call was. I do need to lighten up at games but that is another matter.

I'd be totally satisfied if they would call all the holds against Mario, TJ, and most of our DLine anyway. They should, and folks will see we aren't as bad as our stats look.

I've got this guy who's been heckling Mario for the last three games.

After the first sack, he was jumping up & giving out high-fives to everyone. After the second one, he was all, "That's why we picked him, that's why we picked him...... I told you he's a monster"


I thought it was pretty funny.
 
You guys should post this in the Regular Season Sack sticky topics so we can keep our own count accurate.
