DW4 Traded to Cleveland

8.5 million base salary to get McCaffrey and I just don't see it. If he was healthy you betcha.
You missed my point I do not think Watson wants to go to Cleveland. The cap space is an issue but as you said can be overcome. Cleveland? Cleveland?
If he didn't want to go there, they wouldn't have been granted a sitdown. They would've been declined like Philly and Seattle correct? No inside sources, just trying to connect the dots like everyone else. If winning and being in position for success is the thing, none of those other teams can trump Cleveland. I think he truly wants an offensive minded coach and players in place ready to win. Cleveland can cough up 3 firsts and 2 2nd rd picks and still have a squad.

Not from Aaron Wilson; more than likely from Watson's agent. I do not see why Watson or any of his crew would have anything to do with the Houston media. The Watson crew should want to get the message out to the National media to build up Watson's value.
Wilson is the mouthpiece for Watson. That’s why he got fired from the chronicle.

That's exactly the answer...........all paths lead back to Watson and his team. The Texans aren't putting all this garbage out.

Because he's not as good as some on this MB think he is. He's slightly above avg. Then you throw in the fact that he's a Sexual Predator and it's time for another team, (Sucker) to take him off of the Calhoun's hands.

If Caserio is able to hit on the majority of these picks the Calhoun's will be in a much better place than having Derrick and his albatross 156 mil contract.
Keep lying to yourself. I think the world of Herbert in LA and he has yet to make the playoffs with basically 2 top flight wr's, a all purpose rb and some players on defense. You can knock everything off the field, but on the field, he's a all pro caliber qb. It sucks and people feelings are hurt, but slightly above average is ridiculous.

Of course this would come out now...........teams know FA is on its way........

Report: Teams involved in Deshaun Watson talks expect a decision as soon as today
Posted by Michael David Smith on March 16, 2022, 4:49 PM EDT

The Deshaun Watson trade may be done very soon.

Teams involved in trade talks expect a decision to be made as soon as today, according to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports.

It appears that the Texans and at least one team are close to an agreement on the compensation for Watson, which will surely include multiple first-round draft picks as well as other picks or players. The Falcons, Browns, Saints and Panthers are among the teams known to have discussed a Watson trade.

The question, however, is whether Watson is ready to waive his no-trade clause. With that clause in his contract, Watson can veto any trade he doesn’t like, and it’s unclear what Watson’s preferred destination is.

So the teams think a deal is about to get done. Watson may or may not agree with that.

Watson appears to be so special that many of the rules and traditional customs of the NFL don't seem to apply to him.

He should be ostracized for quitting on the organization just a few months after signing a mega-deal with a guaranteed $110 million, but instead he's got an army of sycophants that are blaming the owner for all of it.

That’s what happens when your owner sucks Easterballs!

Just a question steelb but what is slightly above average to you? Top 16? Top 10?

Cause if he is "slightly average" then we shouldn't expect 3 first round picks and some assets for him

I've asked the same thing. If they were trading Watson before the allegations. What assets would they expect for a slightly above average, one read, hero ball playing, selfish, can't read defense, dumb QB.
I don't think I've gotten a clear answer.

Fortunately for the Houston Texans, other NFL franchises ONLY watch highlight reels, listen to analysis from ESPN talking heads, and don't know the real Derrick Deshaun Watson.

Exactly. Does anyone really trust the Texans to actually take advantage of all these wonderful new picks? Because if they do, they haven't been watching the Texans for long.

A new regime gives hope.

But the same old boardroom philosophy and Calhoun can ruin any fanbases hope.

No, you're not in a disagreement with other board members. Your opinion runs counter to the NFL. To be clear, you believe you know more about judging QB play than the NFL does. That's where you stand, right or wrong.

I believe he's a good but not great QB.

Hopefully some fool will be willing to pay a kings ransom for a good but not great QB that's taking up more than 15% of the cap.

It's not that I believe that I know more, it's what the history of the salary cap era since 1994 says. Not me

Supposedly now according to Texian, Lovie is now making all of the final calls on personnel.
That's not according to me, that's according to Lovie. Listen to a Lovie Press conference or interview after becoming HC. Heck listen to a Caserio interview and see how he has changed his tune. However while Lovie was at the Georgia Pro Day today I think Nick took the liberty to trade a 6th RD pick for some one who has played 36 plays in 3 years. How do you interpret Lovie saying, me and the coaching staff will be responsible for bringing in players who fit our systems?

Care to give me a link to those quotes and I never ask for links because I dont know how to provide them when people ask me to provide them. BTW, Caserio was probably busy going through the Derrick trade proposals.

Not really, I dont have much hope.

The same old boardroom crap is still going on.

What I want to know is if the Derrick trade is a failure is Texian going to blame the guy he thinks is in charge, or is he going to blame the file clerk?

You should have hope. Things are headed in the right direction. The house is almost clean. Still has a little Easterby in it but we will have to deal with it.

Texian is committed to his opinion if Caserio. Somehow it will be the file clerk’s fault.

On a note of a different direction the Super Bowl odds for the New Orleans Saints have dropped from 50 to 1 to only 18 to 1. I am still liking Atlanta and Carolina is chances at DW.
