I don’t think his qualifications really matter. Mike Mayock, John Lynch & John Elway are GMs. Never been scouts. Never worked in personnel.Has anyone heard what previous experience makes Easterby qualified to be EVP- Football Ops? It appears he has his hand in everything non-business related and although Caserio has control of personnel, Jack is always available to "serve" on personnel matters. Does that cover his job description?
If he’s made up his mind he’s not coming back, let him sit out. What does that entail?
If he’s made up his mind he’s not coming back, let him sit out.
If he sits out, he doesn’t count. I think. Even if I’m wrong, yes. Next year would really hurt though. And let 15% of our cap sit?

I’m not trading him.
But he does count toward our performance on the field.
Wouldn’t it be cool if Easterby stays and Watson leaves?
Wtf is wrong with you?
No. No it would not be.
Crazy seems to be in.
Wouldn’t surprise me if it happened.Wouldn’t it be cool if Easterby stays and Watson leaves?
If he sits out he gets fined , has to pay back signing bonus and has a unaccude season toward his contract....bet that loss of money would bring that 10 back to a 2 real quick.
If it were me, there's no way I can let Easterby go. Too much pressure from the media, too much pressure from the players.Wouldn’t it be cool if Easterby stays and Watson leaves?
What? Whitney Mercilus is set for life. He wasn't alienated. The Texans have been good to all their players not named Clowney. Even Hopkins got what he wanted. We’ve continually alienated our players over the years. It’s time to start putting them first and building some trust rather then worrying about image. Get rid of the damn guy if this is really what the problem is about.
Plenty of good players have wasted their careers on teams not named the Texans. Cold fact is, only one team can win the Super bowl per season. In recent years, that likelihood is even slimmer due to the dominance of the New England Patriots.Duane Brown, Clowney, now Watson and Watt. AJ complaining about wasted careers. We are gaining a bad reputation. I’m not saying we need to bow down and do whatever the players want, but we can work with them and make it a desirable place to play instead of whatever the hell we are doing now.
Sounds like we are on the right track then!Plenty of good players have wasted their careers on teams not named the Texans. Cold fact is, only one team can win the Super bowl per season. In recent years, that likelihood is even slimmer due to the dominance of the New England Patriots.

This thinking is why BOB stayed so longIf it were me, there's no way I can let Easterby go. Too much pressure from the media, too much pressure from the players.
I'd agree quietly to let Easterby go after the upcoming season. I'd agree to put him in a closet between now & then. But I can't have the appearance of caving to the players/media.
I don't think so. I'd have fired BO'b the first time a reporter wrote about our college style locker room & no names on their jerseys. I paid too much money for those names not to put them on their jerseys. This thinking is why BOB stayed so long
Are you defending this guy? Serious question. I’ve imbibed today so not sure.Another daily hate filled, rant and rage against Easterby? Surprise, surprise. SI/PFT/NBC have all gone DefCon 4 on Jack Easterby. Never has there been so much written, airtime used and media publication about a culture coach/Chaplin and a PR exec.
In other words as BIG a jerk as Jack Easterby is, SI/PFT/NBC have exceed Jack in that category.

Problem with this list is they're all on different teams. Texans have consistently had top five players in their position waste their careers here due to overall culture. It's a shitshow and there's no other way around it.
I've said repeatedly I'm not a fan of Easterby, never have been. I'm also not a fan of character assassinations. Two wrongs do not make a right. I don't necessarily believe everything I read. In the case of the article you posted, it has underlying motives. I asked myself what is the purpose of writing this article? News or to do harm? I see it as spite and revenge and they don't hide it very well. Are you defending this guy? Serious question. I’ve imbibed today so not sure.
Where there is smoke there is fire and multiple sources have reported what a **** show this franchise is...
Is it Easterby or Cal or both?
Watt hasn't been alienated. He wants out.
DB... he had an opportunity to work things out. He stepped away.
Hopkins wanted out.
Clowney was alienated.
Aj has been treated like royalty.
I'm not arguing we have a dumpster fire on our hands. But this might be a case of taking advantage of Mr Niceguy.

That’s a way to look at it I suppose. So these reporter folks are doing this because they are mad that Amy got fired?I've said repeatedly I'm not a fan of Easterby, never have been. I don't consider the waiter in owner suite who saw Easterby and Rootes sitting together, an obscure fan with a derogatory Easterby sign in Indianapolis and Hannah McNair blocking an Instagram account major breaking news. This was more trying to damage and destroy a persons character. Jenny Vrentas didn't say much more than she already said in her same article the week before. Just some obscure fodder to spice her previous story. Reminded me of an exercise in 9th grade English. After writing a story teacher said now go back and write the same story again completely different and unlike your first. It's also funny how SI, PFT and NBC articles parrot themselves and each other.
That’s a way to look at it I suppose. So these reporter folks are doing this because they are mad that Amy got fired?
Or are they writing because something is there and they are just fanning the flames?
Who knows. But as a casual observer from the outside it sure seems as Easterby is the cancerous tumor that needs to be cut out.
If the McNairs keep pushing for moves that don’t make football sense, it won’t matter who the coach is. It won’t matter if Easterby is fired.Getting rid of Jack is not going to fix this problem on Kirby. Will it help? Sure. The right coach and staff will. Wreaking Ball Bob is gone. Let's move forward.
Regardless the damage is already done, Caserio and Easterby are BFFs. Had they fired Easterby before Caserio was hired the damage could've been averted. That too is wishful thinking because you still have a used car salesman (Cal) in the operating room. Easterby is not the problem. Fire Easterby today and the problem remains. Watson is right in one aspect, Cal needs to fire Cal for the culture to change. That’s a way to look at it I suppose. So these reporter folks are doing this because they are mad that Amy got fired?

I use to say the Texans would always be the 2nd fiddle in the band as long as Peyton Manning was the QB in Indianapolis. That evolved to Andrew Luck. That mountain has returned. The Texans will now always be the 2nd, 3rd or 4th fiddle in band as long as Urban Meyer and Trevor Lawrence are in Jacksonville. Subject to change if/when the Texans are sold.
Sounds like a nice Jack Easterby conspiracy theory you got going.I can see Bob Kraft and Bill Belichick today pouring themselves a nice Hennessey and firing up the Cubans, putting their feet up on the desk, having a good laugh and saying can you believe we've screwed up the Texans for another 5 years?
After he called Kraft out for conduct not worthy of the great Jack Easterby, I doubt Kraft is still a fan.One conspiracy theory deserves another: If Easterby was so loved in Patriot Nation, and was offered a lifetime contract, why does he think Kraft is trying to sabotage his career? Maybe, just maybe, not everyone in Foxboro was a big fan of Jack.
Wrong from your very first assumption so I guess you can void your post since it was all for naught. Bob and Bill were having a giggle about another Patriot clerk becoming a league GM like Nick Casserio. You do seem to have Easterby on the mind. Are you too on a mission from God to destroy Easterby like your friends at SI, PFT and NBC?Sounds like a nice Jack Easterby conspiracy theory you got going.

I noticed that the plethora of pro-Jack articles out of new England came after Bob LaMonte came into his life. Could LaMonte have solicited these articles, knowing that Easterby's contract was up? And advised the reporters (that come to him for other stories), "Talk to this, that, and this other player about how Jack has impacted their lives." And has anyone noticed that the Patriots never bothered to replace Easterby after he left? If Jack was so instrumental to the organization, filling so many important roles, how are they functioning without another Easterby?
By "connecting the dots" (), I'm seeing that maybe Easterby wasn't as beloved in New England as he's made out to be. That he might have already created some friction with his thirst for power. That he was on his way out, and was looking for another sugar daddy. Hello, Cal.
Notice that Easterby called out Kraft (in a retweet by a former Patriot TE) after he left Foxboro. The damage had already been done. After he called Kraft out for conduct not worthy of the great Jack Easterby, I doubt Kraft is still a fan.
(Checking)Are you too on a mission from God to destroy Easterby like your friends at SI, PFT and NBC?
We hear about locker room cancers all the time. When you get rid of those guys, more often than not, the team gets better. Easterby not only has the locker room poisoned, but he's got the whole organization divided, as well as fans and media. If you can call it division, since you don't hear much in support of Easterby other than Cal and Hannah, maybe Pancakes. And it doesn't stop there. This could have an effect on what HC you have come here, as well as future FAs. There's never been anything like this in sports that I can recall. At least not from someone who is not an owner, GM, HC or player. This Easterby thing is certainly unprecedented. You can want to move forward all you want, but if the cancer is still there eating away, not much is going to change in a positive way.Getting rid of Jack is not going to fix this problem on Kirby. Will it help? Sure. The right coach and staff will. Wreaking Ball Bob is gone. Let's move forward.
