Game 4...Prove It...Carolina Panthers!

I can see it. Atlanta and Denver are just a notch or two below us. Our division rivals still can't figure anything out since losing so many of their QBs so unless one of them makes a dramatic jump forward we SHOULD be able to sweep the division.

Raiders are a hot mess and if it weren't for Miami they would be the laughing stock of the NFL. At least Miami has the excuse of tanking for why they are so bad. At the rate the Raiders are going though they won't even have any of their big name guys left on the team by the time we play them.

TBB are garbage because their QB is still playing the game like he's in college, if their new coach can't settle him down then they are going to have to move on but it won't be this year.

Ravens man I just don't know, Jackson seems to be having the same issue as Watson in that some games he's hot and some he's cold. Biggest difference is that Baltimore has a defense because they are like the Bears in that they always have a defense.

The Raiders that just hung 31 on the Colts that whooped us in the playoff game are a hot mess?

TBB that just put 55 on the LAR in their house are garbage?

Colts in the playoff game had Luck and yes with all the drama surrounding their team they are a hot mess. Burfict just got suspended for the season and even if it gets reduced in appeal its still going to set records for longest suspension. Josh Jacobs is having a good year but they've got Bear and Packers, both good defenses, before they get to us so how banged up is he going to be?

Yeah TBB did hang 55 points on the rams but Rams also had 40 points which means neither team had a defense worth mentioning. Before that 49ers hung 31 points on TBB and they lost a close one to the Giants. Winston is a complete wild card in how he is going to play and has the worst issues with consistency of pretty much any QB in the NFL. So yeah I'd still say they overall are garbage.

Also frankly I've not bought into the hype for the Rams because last year no one knew what to make of them. Soon as Chicago figured out the formula for stopping their offense they really haven't been the same unstoppable machine.

It’s not like the Texans have anything figured out. They barely beat a QB making his 1st ever start, at home. They’ve never beaten Brissett.

I'm still thinking 12-4.

I know, I know. I see what you see. But my gut's telling me 12-4

They’re losing to KC and NE. That’s 4 losses. You saying they go 10-0 in the others?

Don't see it.
Walk me through the schedule and show me ten more wins plz :boogereater:
@NO (L)
- JAX (W)
@LAC (W)
- CAR (L)
- ATL
@KC
@IND
- OAK
@JAX
@BAL
- IND
- NE
- DEN
@TEN
@TBB
- TEN

I called 10-6, 11-5 at the start of the season..still there despite that ugly loss last week. Here's how i see it.

@NO (L)
- JAX (W)
@LAC (W)
- CAR (L)
- ATL (W)
@KC (L)
@IND (W)
- OAK (W)
@JAX (W)
@BAL (W)
- IND (L)
- NE (L)
- DEN (W)
@TEN (W)
@TBB (W)
- TEN (W)

That's 11-5 right there but i'm expecting a let down game somewhere in the division with either losing both games to IND, or splitting with TEN like we did last year.

IMO we will be lucky to finish 8-8. I think we most likely finish 7-9 this season.

Which the question is what then? Bad as the rest of the division is looking 12-4 would most likely get us into the wild card so what is considered success? SB, AFC championship, or just not being 1 and done? And also does the way we lose matter? If it was a close game or result of bad calls from the refs is that factored in or is it black and white?

Since the Tunsil trade I said we need to be in the AFCCG for this season to be considered a success, for me. We need to be in that game & look like we belong.

A flagrant PI not called kinda thing.

It's like some people are oblivious.

I just want to see some significant Improvement somewhere. For the first time in a long time the loss 2 Panthers was not an emotional one for me. It was almost like oh well games over. That was what happened with me and the Astros and the Rockets. Just lost interest. Not quite there yet and hopefully this weekend will correct that.

A heard an interesting comment during game when the commentator compared the different mantras of the two QBs. Watson was something like, "never give up on the play." I think this is part of the problem. He is too focused on the homerun strike and extended the play. He is often not taking what the defense is giving him and seems to be concentrating more on the play he wants to make (which often times is not there). Many times the offense scheme/play calling isn't doing him any favors, but sometimes there are plays to be made that are left on the field. This game Watson failed to connect on several plays including two long ones where the receivers were wide open. I am beginning to get a little concern, because Watson has had a lot of off games/quarters this season and there a sone shuttle things he did in his rookie season he is no longer seems to be as adept at - like throw receivers open.

This season is looking more and more like it could be 8-8 plus or minus. The defense is good enough that if they can get the offense on track the team has potential. Hopefully they can sort things out and get this train back on the tracks.

I support the bold 101%.

We're penciling wins like this team is good like that. Then thinking a loss somewhere in there is a let down.

Bwhahaha

It's probably best for us to not make these predictions.

No we are penciling wins based off the talent level and what we have seen out of the team in the past. It is a list based on what they SHOULD be able to do just like how they SHOULD have beat Carolina. Realistically I don't think any of us truly believe they will win 10 out of the next 12 games but yeah if you look at the team on paper then those are games they should be able to win.

And frankly if we are all just going to sit around thinking they are going to lose every game whats the point of even watching? I watch football for fun and if I just think the team does nothing but suck then that isn't much fun and I'd rather do something else with my time.

I didn't say sit around and think we will lose. I said it's best not to make any predictions. Bug difference there bud.

As you can see, having all that talent doesn't mean jack. We're still seeing the same product on the field and the same mistakes by the head coach/ Offensive coordinator.

And a QB in an offense that doesn't match his skillset.

It wont matter, Watson is a terrible fit for the EP system regardless of who's running it.

Here you with the constant bashing of someone you don't like. Now all of your comments will not be fairly assessed. Again last season Watson made this system look good.

And like I said let's stop calling this the EP system but the Bill O'Brien system.

Which is why BOB should go back to the original offense. He can help Watson by letting Watson use his feet more.

Ok Steel lets say I agree with you and that the best thing BoB can do is switch to at least a modified version of the offense that was ran during Watson's rookie year. Now if BoB does that then I will agree that he is a good HC that saw his QB was struggling and made adjustments to give him and the team the best chance to win. Lets say, however, that he doesn't do that. Lets say that he keeps trying to hammer that square peg into a round hole like he has done since Watson got back from injury. What is BoB then?

I'm not bashing anybody, I'm just pointing out the fact that after 2 yrs in the EP system that Watson still can't run it. Watson can run the system he ran the 1st 7 games very well.

I actually like Watson but he's a bad fit for the EP system. Why does everything have to be a like/don't like with you?

After 6 years of O'Briens ep system it's obvious it sucks and he doesn't know what he's doing in any aspect of football

just wanted to inform everyone that along with the Ted copyright I will be copywriting the bug term. Ted can be used for all typos mistakes and the bug is the difference between the Texans and any other football team. For your convenience I will continue to accept all royalties in the form of an email.

Truth be told, I don't think BoB is smart enough to run BoB's offense.

WTF is dabob offense? Does anyone know? I am sure it is something that is supposed to make BOB look smart. As one of the radio guys said it is very basic.
Why the hell does anyone think bob is smart to begin with. Because Belichick and Brady made him look like a genius. When he left there he has done absolutely nothing in pure football terms. I agree he is able to be a good politician/cheerleader and I do not doubt he is a good person, but GM/HC/OC/time manager/......... I don't think so.

Too close to Gronk to copy write but thanks for suggestion!

Anyone who thinks what we run and what the Pats run are similar, you haven't been paying attention. OB took the EP system and tried to put his spin on it. He is trying to create this down the field offense when in reality the NFL doesn't work like that. Defenses are too fast upfront to ask your QB to wait on long developing plays. The most successful teams use a quick passing game to keep teams in then hit them over the top a handful of times a game. Whenever we start to look good, it's during periods where we are setting a fast pace and hitting quick rhythm throws. Watson is deadly under ten yards and can unleash a fierce bullet, but we aren't doing much of that. Guys are never in the middle of the field between the hashes and they are constantly running deep patterns. Add in the difficult blocking assignments OB and Devlin have and you have a recipe for disaster. The entire offense looks lost and that starts with the guy coaching them

Doesn't answer my question. If Bill O'Brien can't adjust the scheme to play to his QBs strengths and sticks with his current system even though it clearly is to hot and cold for season long success then what kind of HC is he?

I think he thinks he can train Watson his system. All I can say about that is good luck, he's going to be paying with his job either this offseason or offseason after that. Depending on how Cletus feels about the state of the franchise.

The EP scheme is modified by the HC/OC. It’s not cookie cutter. And it doesn’t work the same for everyone. It doesn’t work for everybody. But BoB, in his arrogance is trying to make it work here. How many QB’s does he need to change? All of them, apparently.

Agreed, but the offense was run properly with Fitz/ Hoyer.

It will never be run properly with Watson and yes, he has changed the offense some. See: the TD last game as an example.

This is why Brock and Obrien had that fight about. Even though Brock was trash he did realize the bolded part and spoke on it one day during a presser. Remember he was utilizing the Tight ends a lot. Obrien didn't agree and wanted him to stick with his offensive plan.

How was it ran properly with them. Please post some screenshots of those particular plays.

The offense was hot and cold just like it is now.

Throwing stuff on the wall aren't we. Lol
