5am kick off here.

Might be one of the few times I'm grateful for my threenager waking me up at 5 in the morning.

Expecting a win but worried about emotional burnout/flameout affecting the result.

Hopefully we can win two games in four days. We have a short week and play the Bengals on Thursday Night Football after this one. Let's make it a 2-0 record to start the 2017 season. That's something we've done a lot in recent years (starting 2-0 is our calling card). I want to be undefeated before the big Week 3 showdown with the Patriots at Foxborough. A place we have never won before.

It's 3:30 AM here in Houston and I'm wide awake!
I can't sleep on gamedays. Too nervous and anxious.
I'd easily be fine with a 5 AM local kickoff time. LOL
Still a ways to go before a 12 noon kickoff. I'm ready to go!

Let's go boys. Just praying for a season where this team actually, finally looks competent. I can't endure another year like the last three. I just can't. Even 2013 was better than that **** and that was brutal. Four years of absolute miserable, football fandom-killing trash really, but especially the last three.

I'm ready to love football again. Please.

Kinda wish I had kept this ticket, I expect something bigger than even a playoff atmosphere. Bortles is about to see something akin to an unholy combination of a steamroller and a B-52. The city needs a win, the team needs a win ... sh!t's about to get weird and the Jags are on the receiving end of it.

I'm ecstatic the season is finally here. Here's where the KoolAid and the sour grapes collide. Ripple Wine anyone?
I'll have some of that ripple wine. Lol
It's finally here and just 4 hours to go!
LET'S GO TEXANS!!!

I am so freaking fired up. Let's go Texans

I am so envious. It has been a long time since I have felt that way about a game.

In spite of everything I never lost my enthusiasm for Oiler football, for the Texans, not so much after the first year.

I'd love to be a great / koolaid drinking fan, but reality keeps rearing its ugly head.

Guess I had my fill of dysfunction when the Oilers left.

Maybe it's just my age showing. idonno:

Here is hoping for a good game. When will hoping turn into expecting?

When the Oilers took their act to Tennessee I was ticked off at the fact of not having a NFL Football team in Houston. I love football but refused to cheer for any other especially the Titans. So when we finally got a team in 2002 my excitement was through the roof. I was a diehard fan for the Oilers and now the Texans. Yes we have had some disappointing season. But we've seen some good ones too.

Hey I can't answer your question because that's all on you. I guess you have to find that bright light in the mist of the storm.

Maybe you should try a cuppaIrishcoffee...hold the coffee... :D

Take care, be safe, and recover soon Houston and Texas.
Ah yes Strong is playing today oh I mean Houston Strong :-). I would like to see the OL step up big time and protect Savage and establish run while Savage protects the ball. Defense needs to stop the run Fournette, shake up Bortles and get turnovers.
Texans 1 JAGS 0.
Go Houston Strong Texans!
:fans: :gotexans1

Inactive Jags: T.J. Yeldon, Calvin Pryor, Jalen Myrick, Blair Brown, Josh Walker, William Poehls, Michael Bennett

Inactive Texans: `Will Fuller, Alfred Blue, Treston Decoud, Kyle Fuller, Julie'n Davenport, Carlos Watkins, Ufomba Kamalu

the roof maybe Reliant being conservative on energy and cost from the Harvey or maybe the stadium gets louder with the roof closed which will work vs jags offense callings. imo

30 Minutes to games time!
The excitement is almost overwhelming!
It's finally back! Houston Texans Football.
Go Texans!

What's up everybody! Long time no see. I took a different approach this year. I didn't watch a single preseason game. I have been keeping somewhat informed through radio, the local news etc. I was trying to remain as unbiased as possible, especially with the new kid at QB coming in. I have never done this so I figured I'd give a shot. So.... I guess I'm ready for some footbaaaallll! :jam:

Soooo this is the official game day thread?

Football is back! No more QB horseshit, holdout distractions or texan on texan violence (but I do reserve the right to ***** and moan as needed for sanity) game 1 sets the tone. I want to see a disciplined team, clean all the way around.

Let's dance with who brung us.
