College football season

First name team games Rice 0 Stanford 45 and 9 minutes left 3rd quarter. Hard to evaluate such a lopsided game. Stanford lost some guys on their 2016 team to NFL (RB Christian McCaffery and RG starter Casper)but are ranked # 18-20 by some sources. CBS 'draft prospects' does not have a player in top 100. Coach David Shaw has 10 or more wins in 5 of 6 seasons and some say a very good recruitment year. Senior QB Chryst recovering from torn ACL in bowl.

Now 52-0 with third quarter coming to end.

Any favorite teams or players?

I agree. #2 Ohio St 7 minutes left in 3rd Q move ahead of Indiana 20-14. The latter doing better than I expected.

Dang Indiana goes back up 21-20 and they are hanging tough with 4:50 in thrid. Ohio St has ball.

Edit: Next possession O.S.U. Lagow take pass to the end zone. 27-21. Maybe should have made a thread on this as much better than I expected.

QB Jake Browning, Wash, did a good job against a good Rutgers D,
Dante Pettis, Wash was very impressive as a KR and WR

Today, Wyoming QB, Josh Allen being mentioned as a favorite to be #1 QB in next year's NFL Draft.

A guy that caught my eye last night and put him on my watch list, Steven Montez, QB Colorado Buffaloes.

As UH alum, nothing is bringing more of a smile to my face right now than to see Glad to see UT & mr. Hermann getting that ass whipped by Maryland right now. It's just his 1st game and all, but just like with Briles and Sumlin, these guys will eventually realize that the grass isn't always greener.

Different outcome could've certainly been had if not for some massive ST miscues that led to Francois pressing way too hard to make every throw a gamebreaker. Also think the dynamic of the entire offense will be different by season's end when this largely inexperienced OL begins to gel and Cam Akers inevitably finds his footing at this level.

But Bama deserved the W as the better, more ready, team last night, no doubt. Depending on Francois' health I hope to see em again in December/January.

Baylor loses to Liberty. Woe in Waco.
But Baylor finally has a roster full of "good guys" now.
That's a team you can finally support and cheer for.
Even though they aren't going to be any good, wins wise.
It's going to take a lot to turn that program around.

A&M just pulled off the choke of the century...Lol at Sumlin..someone make a "miss me yet?" meme of Kyle Allen in his new UH uniform

Not sure I can agree on a good Rutgers D. Rutgers went 0-9 against the big 10 last season including losses of 58-0, 68-0, and 49-0. They may have improved some, but IMO Washington looked average at best.

All I can tell is you is I watched much of the game and Rutgers D played a good game. Apparently their 2nd year head coach Chris Ash is quite the defensive mastermind. Was defensive coordinator for Bret Bielema and Urban Meyer. Pretty strong credentials.

Ash has a very good defensive track record and doesn't have a lot to work with at Rutgers. Holding Washington to 30 is pretty solid although the Huskies have been notoriously flat on offense under Petersen when playing away from home.

Has Kevin Sumlin been fired yet? Have Aggies called Jimbo Fisher yet?

Oh ffs, you've had Jimbo leaving Tallahassee continuously for years now. And all he's done in the meantime is win more games as a Seminole, bring in an arsenal of talent to FSU's stellar facilities, and flat out turn down other sought after jobs all the while extending his already lucrative contract.

Maybe you've exhausted your guesses here?

Two years ago he was this close l<->l leaving for LSU. The SEC is where he wants to be. Texas A&M he would get the Top 20 recruits in Texas every year.

You don't know where he wants to be.

He gets top recruiting classes year in and year out as is, both in and out of his talent-rich backyard.

And there's also still that pesky part about you continuously guessing wrong on his departure. Like pitifully so at this point.

I don't know how wrong I have been about guessing on his departure. I did comment on stories circulating on how close he was to accepting the LSU job 2 years ago. The fact that he was so close indicates he does have a fondness for the SEC. I have made no secret that if I was Bob McNair that's one of five persons I would be pursuing. Different than predicting Jimbo will Texans next HC. Same with Aggies, If I was Aggies AD I would go all in on trying to hire Jimbo (also like Gary Peterson for Aggie job, did before they hired Sumlin). That doesn't mean I'm predicting Jimbo as the next Aggies HC. And there are just as many if not more good reasons about being Texas A&M HC as there is being the Seminoles HC. So pesky on....get over it.... or use the ignore if it upsets you so.

What's up with all the weeny whining of late, I find that rather pesky, pitifully so. The original comment was tongue and cheek meant as light heart comment. Sorry the humor went over your head. Or as they say in Stripes;

- You've been embarrassingly wrong, as you've guessed it repeatedly to more than one destination (LSU and Bama already. May have been Indy in there too(?) and now A&M. Who knows who else.) and came up snake eyes each time. TMZ sports would blush.

- And by that logic since he actually works in the acc this must indicate he has an even stronger fondness for that league then, right?

As for the rest, this is a public forum. If you don't want your terrible predictions to be called out either don't make them or don't do so for all to judge/question. In the meantime shake the sand out of your vag and quit boohooing about being continuously wrong.

I realize you're a fan of him as a coach, and I don't blame you, I clearly am as well. But for a guy who clings so dearly to describing himself as a realist all this frivolous speculation begs to differ.

I see it's still over your head Francis. You got links on those predictions Chief?

Have already responded, see post #40. I'm not aware of any predictions that you insist I've made.

Posts aren't numbered on my phone. Anywho..

My money would be on Jimbo.
... this in direct reference to UT's 2014 coaching vacancy.

And if that's not prediction-y enough..

A 2016 prediction, Saban goes to the NFL (Indy), Jimbo Fisher goes to Bama, why he didn't take LSU job that left Miles hanging.

And fairly certain you made a similar dead-on call for him to land at LSU recently, as he likewise didn't. Just don't feel like sleuthing through any more of your proud history.

Oh good grief, so over the last four years two posts, one when rumors were abound (Saban's wife in Austin, Regents calling Fisher) and I said, put my money on Fisher and a speculation about Pagano getting fired, is what has chapped your butt? This is a message board for Christ's sake. It was damn joke Molly. I'm sorry you didn't get it. Let me try again. Has Sumlin been fired yet? Have the Aggies called Peterson? (Chris or Gary) you choose, which ever is funniest.

You need to buy you some Butt Suave.......or.....put me on Ignore.....and.......Buy yourself a sense of humor.

Those were the only two I took a second to look back to. Likely many others there, of course you'll deny them too just like you frantically denied ever making any predictions whatsoever. But, well ya.

Why are you getting so rabidly bent out of shape here anyway? I didn't make your multiple failed predictions for you. Just own 'em.

Meanwhile I think you're still failing to get the concept of a public forum. You're aware that people respond to things other people say here, ya?

And I don't know what butt cream you fellas usually use, but no thanks tex, I like women.

It was a damn joke...get over it. They also put people on ignore.
