Texans versus Raiders: AFC wild-card (Sat Jan 7 3:35 PM) game prediction!

2017 Astros: Earn It!
Texans versus Raiders in the AFC wild-card game!
Predict the score for this incredible matchup.

Texans 33, Raiders 16

We'll be packing our bags for Foxborough!
Bring on Tom Brady and the Patriots in the divisional round.

It's time to believe in this Houston Texans team.
Whether you're a negative Nancy or not.

Right now the playoffs are the only thing that matters.
What happened in the regular season is long gone.

This should be a easy win but I just don't have much confidence in our offense whatsoever. Therefore, this game will be a close one but we come out victorious.

Texans 20
Raiders 16

All records reset at 0-0. We know we're getting our offensive MVP back this week in Lamar Miller along with our #1 ranked defense as healthy as they have been since JJ was ruled out for the year.

We're taking on a team with a damn good running game and Oline. But their MVP candidate at QB is no longer there thus neutering their offensive firepower.

The gameplan for this game will be the same as it will be in any matchup we have this playoff season: Control time of possession, take care of the football, and let the defense win the game for us!

16-3 Texans

So what happened to McGloin? Are we more likely to see Cook? How did Cook look today?

I still don't know who will be starting at quarterback for the Houston Texans in this game. Tom Savage will likely pass the concussion protocol this week (I'm assuming), but do you just start Brock Osweiler against the Raiders?

One thing is for certain: The Raiders don't have MVP candidate Derek Carr. Matthew McGloin will be starting for them. Although he came out of today's game with a minor injury to his non-throwing shoulder. Connor Cook, rookie out of Michigan State (my favorite QB in last year's draft) would start for them if McGloin is unable to go for some reason.

Cook looked good on a few throws.
Finished 14-for-21 (150 yards) with 1 TD and 1 INT.
Hit a 32-yard pass. The Raiders offense showed life.
With McGloin in there, the Broncos defense shut them down.

But the McGloin injury wasn't serious.
It was to his non-throwing shoulder as well.

You can make a case Connor Cook is better than Matthew McGloin though. Cook should start for them even if McGloin is ready to play.

I just hope McGloin starts, LOL

I wanted the Texans to draft Connor Cook last year. I loved him at MSU.

Our defense is looking solid and the team loves playing at NRG.
Raiders are hurting at QB too atm and we get some stars back as well.
I reckon Texans will get this one 24 -10.

This just isn't true, though.

I'm all for the idea that this team somehow get red hot now that we're all 0-0 playoff darlings, but the same factors that led to all of our deficiencies during the regular season will still be in play next weekend.

I'm going to be rooting all the same, hell I think we beat a Carr-less Oakland, but I'm not going to just go daft about how we got here.

Lmao @ Lamar miller being the offensive MVP. No...just no.

Texans, One and Done this year. I have no confidence whatsoever in the Texans to win a playoff game. We have to have the most pathetic offense for a playoff team I've ever seen.

Last time a McG lead Raiders team played in Houston, he threw for 3 TD's...

No confidence in either Texans QBs sooooo...

17-10 Raiders

BUT didn't see Conor Cook in the game and if he starts...

17-10 Texans

You must have missed the Broncos last season. 254 yards/game in the postseason

I don't know. The Raiders with Connor Cook does give me some hope for this game. Matt Mcgloin didn't look so great today either.

this game is going to be UGLY. no matter who wins everyone loses who dares have the strength and courage to watch connor fooking cook take on brock "al dente" osweiler.

will be a pure treat for us texans fans whom are sadistic and masochistic, though. if we lose it will be up there on the "all-time" texans loses, for sure.

We rarely crack 20 points so this will have to be a low scoring game which is rather likely considering the defenses and the complete lack of offensive power in this one now that Carr is gone, Brock is back, and Miller has a bum wheel.

I think we win this one but of course get utterly destroyed the week after.

This win is going to be ugly though. Ugly like the last three weeks of games have been. Borderline unwatchable garbage.

On the plus side...we get to play a backup QB in the WC game at home. That's a huge advantage.

On the down side...if we somehow don't **** up the WC game (we totally will) we get the privilege of going to Foxboro and getting embarrassed on national TV again.

Texans - 16
Raiders - 13
BUT it could just as easily be the reverse

Sadly I have 0 faith in our offense. The real loser here is fans who have to watch this boring game. Hope I'm wrong but weekly it's pretty boring.

I will keep dreaming that Savage or Brock finally click and have a miracle playoff run. Prediction of that happening - .001% (so there is hope)

Oakland does have it's problems, and I'll concede it's possible for the Texans to win that one, but even if that happens, we'll never get past New England without a way to score points.
