Gameday Thread - 8/14 - Texans VS 49'ers Preaseason Game 1

We've looked really good this offseason, and have actually survived thus far without major injury (knock on wood), and took it heavily to the 49'ers during the scrimmages. Some key players that we want to see will be out (Martin and Clowney specifically), but it's finally 'football time in Houston', and we'll get to see our new super-speed offense and franchise quarterback in a game situation.

The last thing I want to see in a preseason game is a you-know-what. I don't even want to say it.

1a. Oz performance and how he leads the offense
1b. who's gonna end up 2nd and 3rd string QB
2. WR crew other than Hop
3. RB group
4. Defense front w/o Watt and the Clown
5. If we utilize TE more

Just looking at the full roster again and its pretty tight in quite a few positions. These games are going to be vital for a lot of those positional battles.

WR and DB are both going to be a slaughter house for the back end of the roster.
 
So I tuned my TV into the HD antenna and I get commercials. The first time I put the TV on it's antenna since last football season. Commercials. I hate them.
 
Does anyone have any experience with NFL Gamepass while overseas? I'm in Vienna right now and I signed up for the free trial, but right now it has me concerned because I cannot click the Texans' game to watch it. Maybe I can only select it when it's game time, yeah?
 
Finally Texans football is about to start. Yes it's preseason but I'm so pumped up right. Hopefully the weather let's up because right now my satellite is down. And I don't want to follow the game via the Internet.

On a side note: the rain is not stopping that grill from smoking up the neighborhood. Lol

Hoping for no significant injuries and would like to finally see a game plan offense from OB and Godsey
 
Kevin Johnson, Charles James, Terrance Mitchell and Robert Nelson are healthy scratches. And Cushing and Bouye (groin injury) are not going to be in there.
 
Ugh. Spencer Tillman. Somebody put that dude in a choke hold.
 
It's finally here. Time for the young guys to impress. Hopefully, we see a bunch of guys pushing for #2 spots tonight. We need young guys to step up on both our lines and all along the defense.
 
Not surprised Osweiler missed a downfield Fuller. We're going to see a lot of those mistakes the first half of the season as he develops.
